Would someone please open one in Turner, KS so I can get my fixen of the chicken bacon ranch pizza daily?? I LOVE this place. The pizza is not over priced and love the thick n chewy chicken bacon ranch pizza. I hope everyone supports this place as I would be sad to see it go.
Not a fan of raw pizza dough. Breadsticks better than the pizza... because the dough was COOKED! Obviously using conveyor ovens set with a temperature too high and a belt speed too fast to get what looks like a cooked pizza out fast but the dough was raw and slimy under that browned cheese and the onions and peppers were way crunchy, which I usually like, but these were barely warm. No thank you, back to Papa Murphy's, or homemade.
I grew up on Simple Simons pizza in a small town in Oklahoma and was very excited to find the one in Basehor! I live in the Shawnee area so I stop by anytime I have any reason to be close to the Basehor area. Their Calzone is my go to order and is the best I've had anywhere. ( I get the meat calzone). Their pizza is great too and I think it's better than your typical chain pizza restaurants.

After a mind numbing exdpedition through the mega mart that resides at the Legends, the last thing I want to do is fight more people to dine at any of the overcrowded, over hyped, and over priced dining establishments around the speedway. So instead of drilling my head open and scooping some out to labotomize myself, I opted to make a 5 minute drive west on State St/US24 to Basehor. There just off the highway is Kelleys Bar and Grille. A little off the beaten path....just what I needed. I have heard a lot about this place, from friends that live in Basehor. Decor is standard small town diner, small and intimate, with a welcoming smile from all the emloyees. Chicken Fried Chicken Fillet, with steak fries and corn was my choice. Chicken was thick and juicy with a crunchy coating. The steak fries were large and crispy, with just the right amount of salt. Small chucks of ham adorned the corn, that resembled fresh corn cut from the ear. The steak was exceptionally tender and outshined the samples that we were served at one of the big name "in town" steakhouse recently. Potato was also fresh and fluffy. Both meals were less than $10. Most of the other patrons were regulars, most being greeted by name by the wait staff. Ranging from older couples to a family of 5, there was all kinds of people surrounding us, but the place was pleasingly quiet. An overall great choice for a quick bite, I think a return visit is in the cards. Menu ranges from steaks, sandwiches, mexican platters, and farm style dinners.
Kelley's is a mom n' pop diner-like (or grease shack-- take your pick!) restaurant. I've been there several times, and for a privately owned restaurant in a small town, it's good! They have really yummy burgers, and family I've gone with have liked the catfish and chicken fried steak. The patrons are 99% very loyal locals, and everyone knows each other. Unfortunately, that can be bad for service when it comes to people that aren't regulars. The servers wind up chatting way too much with the people they know. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to service is drinks being empty for more than a couple minutes. There's no excuse for that, and it has happened every single time I've been to Kelley's. During the typical meal times (noon & 6-7pm) it gets very busy, so I expect to wait a little longer for food, but my drink should always have something in it! The owners, Bill & Diane Buchholz, are fantastic people, and you'll likely be greeted by one of them when you walk in. Bill is a people person, and greets every single person as if they are long lost friends whether he knows them or not. If you're looking for unique or amazing food, you won't really find it here, but you will find a country, homey atmosphere and some good diner food. They have decent prices and specials, as well as claim to have the best steak in town (FYI, they're the only restaurant in town to serve steak...)
Overpriced mediocre food. Servers are some of the worst. Owners are super nice though.

Clean - looks new. A good alternative to fast food burger joints for a quick lunch. Service an odd mix of good and bad - the associate that made our sandwiches was pleasant and smiling and very helpful. Her colleague - who apparently was busy prepping paper goods - was short, surly and didn't ever make eye contact. Ah, well...

Some Sonics are better than others. This isn't one of them. Too many kids not paying attention to what they're being paid to do but that's fast food isn't it? I'll usually stop in here for a Route-44 sweet tea or coke while dropping something off at a local bank. The last couple of times, the girl who took my order spoke so quickly and in such a garbled fashion, I didn't understand a word she said. I just gave her my order, more unintelligble gibberish and I said thank you and then proceeded to the window. They don't really pay much attention to what they're doing. She blurted out my order which, like I said, I barely understood between the gum popping and rapid-fire speech and then slamming the window in my face. She came back with my drink and my card and smiled and then slammed the window in my face again. Of course, I'll be back. It's convenient and cheap. It's a trade-off I guess.
