I have eaten at Las Palmas about 5 times. I have been sick from Las Palmas 2 times. 2 out of 5 might not be a bad ratio for shooting 3 pointers in basketball but it sucks for food poisoning at a restaurant. I want to like this place, I really do (hence eating here again after the first time I got sick)... but I can't...they need to work on quality and cleanliness. The prices are good, the quantity is very good, the atmosphere is alright, and even the flavor of the food is pretty good (hence the 2 star rating instead of 1) but... I can't give a restaurant a good review when they have sickened me and other members of my family on multiple occasions.

My first time here I ordered the chile con queso thinking it would be decently thick. However it came out looking like milk with hamburger chunks in it. I ate one bite. No more words but ew. And to add, our server was reluctant about our service. She gave us no straws.

We really enjoy this place. Tasty chips and salsa to start of the meal, and good margaritas. The margaritas aren't real strong, but they are tasty. The recommendation for the molcajete is a good one. The combination plates are pretty good also if that's what you are into. Prices are inexpensive, and the service is good but not great.

Hands down the worst meal I've ever had. Service was ok, place was generally clean, but food is really really terrible. And this wasn't a place where we were expecting much to begin with. Last time we'll be here.

Food is pretty good but we advise you to sit in a booth! Our table was wobbly and my 81 year old uncle's chair broke in the middle of dinner. Servers are friendly but absentminded and extremely slow. Yikes. This place has a lot of potential but we were disappointed.

I have eaten here several times. Didn't do a review, until today. This was a most disappointing trip. Took almost 45 minutes to get our lunch order. When it arrived, it was lukewarm and incorrect. Should've sent it back, but I didn't want to wait that long again for the correct order. They seemed very understaffed and unprepared to serve. Will be. Along time until I return.

Margaritas were alright. And I couldn't eat dinner because my dinner came out with a HUGE piece of hair on it! EEEEWWWW!! If you want to drink there it's alright. Our server couldn't even figure out who's tickets were on who's. So ridiculous!!! We told Him this at the very beginning!!! Considering my experience I wouldn't recommend the food. Or I guess check your food very closely. My hair was right on top of my food, like it was on display or something. I don't know how they could have missed it. So Incredibly GROSS!!!!!!!!!!! I will absolutely not be going there again!!!

My first impression of the place, they needed to close for a day and clean the place. The menu that sat up on the table to display their drink specials, looked like it was 1 years old. The food ... awful! It was a gut bomb. Totally unimpressed, maybe we'll try it again in 10 years or so.

Loved it. They treated us so well. 6 women, out for a girls night. We stayed way past our meal and didn't feel rushed at all. Blood was marvelous! Loved the tamales! We will be back!

Las Palmas is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at here in Kansas. I've loved it every time I have eaten there. I especially like their Chicken Tostada, whether it be grilled chicken or their seasoned fajita chicken. I have had enchiladas, burritos, tamales & chile rejenos, which I may have misspelled! The tamales were excellant, sometimes places make them too dry or not enough filling. Not at Las Palmas! I will also say their chile rejenos were the first ones I have had that I actually liked.. and very much so! The beans are out of this world.. so creamy. I like dipping chips in them! I love their salsa & chips. I usually pig out on them before the meal then am too full by the time it arrives! Great guacamole too! Prices are very reasonable. Delicious margaritas! The decor is very colorful & fun. This is a great place for a larger group gathering.

I've ate here about 3 times. The place is pretty good but the complimentary salsa they serve you is nasty. Everytime I eat it my stomach starts to hurt. I was born and raised in South Texas and 100% Pura Latina so I know good Mexican food. Overall, its a good restaurant. Service is always up to par and prices are reasonable.

Love it. Get the molcajete or the shrimp cocktail. It's all good.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
