Cute little cafe with amazing food. Probably the best chicken salad I have ever had. Who would have thought of putting cilantro, lime, and pineapple in chicken salad?! Well, they did and it is amazing. Will for sure be back next time I am in town!

A hidden gem that we stumbled upon making our way from Denver to Lawrence. Hopped on Yelp to find a local spot with healthier options than the fast food chains right of the highway. The menu changes every Monday, and the ham and cheese with country black bean soup hit the spot on a cold Wednesday afternoon. They do not accept credit cards, but do not let this keep you from checking this place out. It keeps their prices low, which we surely appreciated. Keep up the great work!

This is one if my favorite places to eat anywhere! Ann is an excellent chef using fresh ingredients while rotating the menu every week. I love her amazing deserts too! If you're in Abilene during lunch time don't miss it!

We are driving to Colorado. Imagine our surprise when we stopped in Abilene. We were able to find a delicious, non-chain food meal that fit within the bounds of my husband's dietary restrictions. We had green chile chicken tacos and a melon prosciutto salad. Thumbs up!

Traveling through Kansas and wanted a good and healthy restaurant to eat. The food was not only, healthy, fresh, homemade and delicious but eye appealing as well. My shrimp salad with watermelon, spinach, cheese and sunflower seeds was accompanied by either soup or salad. I opted minestrone soup. The dressing was a light but slightly sweet and very tasty. Most meals in denver would cost twice as much. So yummy! This will be a regular stop for lunch when we pass through Abilene. Kudos to the chef. The towns people are so blessed to have this past Kansas City chef to abide here now. HIGHLY recommend!

Great place! Cash only. Very friendly and flexible chef. Happy jalapeño pasta that rocks.

Dish has an interesting (if limited) menu. Most in our group had the chicken salad with tarragon and tomato bisque soup. Both were delicious and portions were generous. Sandwiches and other menu items are somewhat atypical. I don't consider this a disadvantage, but Dish may not be the best option for diners who prefer many options and more conventional choices. On the negative side, the waitress could have been friendlier and the coffee was terrible--surprising given the quality of the food.

The best place to eat in town. Any time I have guests that visit the dish is always the first place I suggest to eat. With a new menu every week, it's always exciting to visit and see what the chef has created. Featuring mostly soups and sandwiches there is no way you won't find something incredible. Only drawback is the hours. Open only during the weekdays for the lunch hours, you have to plan ahead to make sure they are open. fyi the dish only takes cash so make sure you prepare for that.

The menu is often interesting and unexpected--it's not always perfect, but it is new each week. There are vegetarian options that are delicious and filling. Te owners are very kind and the atmosphere is laid-back and very corner café. I would absolutely suggest stopping in for their yummy fare!

This place is amazing! Only open during lunch, and only on weekdays makes it tricky to find time to fit it in, but it is absolutely worth the effort. The menu changes each week, so If you don't get something you are eyeing on the menu the first time then you better go back the next day. Next week it will be gone. There is always a vegetarian option, and it is ALWAYS good. Each order comes with a side of either the soup of the day or salad of the day. $7 a meal, no matter what you choose, and there is usually a dessert you can add in also. Kids meals are inexpensive and to note : there are only two choices but they are kid-friendly ones like grilled pb&j, quesadilla, etc. My little ones like them. If you have a picky little guy then leave him at home, or call ahead to find out what is being offered. Be patient with staff: one chef, and one server who does everything front of house. By far the best food in Abilene. You will not regret choosing here to eat.
