Best Mexican restaurant in Zionsville. They always have amazing service and delicious margaritas.

What can I say? I have a soft spot for this "smothered and covered" style tex-mex food and this is my go to spot for that style of mexican food. Awesome chips and salsa. Guacamole has a few too many onions for me. I love the Chili Verde burrito here and the flautas. the wifey digs the enchiladas smothered not in enchilada sauce but queso...yep queso..BOOM (that was me blowing your mind!) Noting spectacular but everything hits the spot especially when your in the mood for this style of food.

This is our go to Mexican restraunt. Good people, good food, good service and great margaritas! They have a huge selection to choose from on the menue and are willing to customize almost anything which I greatly appreciate.

Went to the Zionsville location on Cinco De Mayo with a friend. We both got a special that was on the whiteboard for $1.00 less that day than what the menu said. We also got a pitcher margaritas. When we went to pay, we believed that restaurant purposely charged full price. As we walked out the door, we realized that we each were thinking that they didn't put ANY alcohol in our $25 pitcher.

Great food. Great salsa. Great service. The only reason not 5 stars is no coupons available for this particular location and a tad pricey. Will go back and recommend.

Our local Mexican restaurant. I like the service 99% of the time. The food is always pretty good and the prices seem fair. Sometimes the checkout process takes longer than it should. If you come here when it's not busy, the food is done super quick and tastes great! It's also fun with a group too!

Meh. It's a chain Mexican restaurant in Central Indiana so I wasn't expecting much. And that's exactly what I got. The chilaquiles were a pretty sad rendition of a Mexican classic. Alas, the Mexican food options in Zionsville/Whitestown are pretty limited. The one lone highlight was watching the waiters bring out 6 trays of scalding hot plates on one arm. Dinner and a show! Also, the margaritas are pretty cheap and tasty.

The service was enthusiastic and inspired but the food was very, very bland. I ordered the Enchiladas Verde, which were acceptable but lacking in flavor. My companion ordered the "Burrito Pablo" which she was woefully disappointed with. If you wind up here, you might as well order a combination plate. The menu items are nothing special.

Outdoor patio is great. Food was okay and service was a little slow for it being in between lunch and dinner. Wouldnt go out of my way to come again.

This is our go to Mexican place. I think this is your "standard American" Mexican restaurant. But I get what I expect to get here and I like consistency.

Someone else said it best with "underwhelming." Judging from other reviews, it must help to have a giant margarita or two, with your meal. My shrimp "especiales" was ok as far as the shrimp, although somewhat bland. However, the avocado slices it was served with, were absolutely covered with black spots. I could not believe they would serve them, looking that way. Just tell me you are out of avocado, for god's sake. My husband's fajitas were similarly just OK, and when served they were not hot, let alone sizzling like one would expect. I've been to other El Rodeo locations and found the food presentation to be better.

Great mexican restaurant. We love to split an order of fajitas. This is a great family friendly restaurant- the service is always fast, which is especially great with a little one. It is also just down the street from home, which makes it even better.

This is one of our go-to places. Good food, cold beer, and friendly service. We're here so much that if we miss a week the manager calls to see if we're OK! :-) Good management, better service than 106th Street, or the now-closed 86th &Zionsville. I don't always drink Dos Equis, but when I do, I'm gonna drink it here! If you're not joining me, then you're in the wrong place!

I hit this place maybe once a week. Both lunch and dinner. Good food, fair prices. Service has always been very good. They also serve late which is a bonus for a late eater like me. The unknown diner digs it!

After thorough review the Rodeo is officially declared MEH. If by Hot and Spicy burrito they meant you could burn your hand on the plate and it could be spicy if you doused it in sauce then they may qualify as adequate. Edible but not worth a second tour. I gave it one star because they were OPEN.

Rule of thumb. When I can put together a better meal than the restaurant in my little suburban ranch, it might be time to find a different restaurant. We've only been to El Rodeo a few times, but have been underwhelmed each time. On this particular occasion, the service was fairly slow for food that was not, frankly, very good. I ordered the fish tacos, as I was wanting to try something there that I had not had before. While the fish was ok, the tortillas were rubbery and a bit on the cold side. It will be a while before we will give them a chance again. There are too many other choices out there to take a chance on a place that is not consistent.

This is the best Mexican Restaurant in Zionsville, period. Since it's really the only mexican restaurant in Zionsville! Either way, I've been to many different mexican restaurants around the area and none of them can touch El Rodeo. The staff here is always prompt, and friendly. The margaritas are STRONG and the queso is muy bueno! The food is excellent and comes in huge portions. You should never leave hungry! I recommend the Cozumel Salad (lots of shrimp, avacodo, and onions) or the Nachos El Carbon. All of the chicken meals are awesome so you won't go wrong there! Keep up the good work gusy!

Your typical chain Mexican restaurant you find in central Indiana. Nothing special or particular about the food but this location consistently has prompt, friendly service.

It is hit or miss I feel ... Usually it is really good with good quality food. I have no real complaints about this restaurant. We know the owner and he always makes an attempt to come say hi. I would recommend this one or the one over off Michigan and 106th street.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
