The only positive I can say is that the chips and salsa aren't the worst I have eaten. I got three tacos one steak, one pork, and one chicken. The tacos came out with only meat on them?! The steak was so tuff I couldn't bite it, the chicken had absolutely NO flavor, and the pork was like it had an entire salt shaker of salt in it! I can honestly say that this was the worst Mexican food I have ever had! Next time I will go to Taco Bell even it is better than this! I definitely won't be back!!!

Chose El Abuelo to have lunch at while waiting for the tattoo parlor across the street to open. Decor is definitely 'americanized mexican' all the bright colored furniture you can get at the roadside tourist shops across the border. Giant menu so plenty of choices. I ordered a lunchtime special quesadilla but it was really just a loaded taco. Service was fine but not really authentic Mexican food but good for middle of Indy.

I tried them again because my fiancé wanted to go again. We had the same waiter, only we received even worse service this time. He acted like he couldn't understand us, and he was barely understandable by mumbling and barely speaking English as well. He ignored our table the whole time, but seemed to be attentive to the other tables all around us. It was rude and bizarre. The guacamole was terrible. I decided to order it this time. It was so salty, it was beyond inedible. I finally was able to tell him when he dropped the bill off at our table. He acted like he didn't know what I was trying to tell him. My meal was also terrible. The rice and beans tasted old, and my enchiladas were gross. I give up on this place. It's sub par overpriced food across the board.

This place is a diamond in the ruff. You would not expect to fine good Mexican food in a small town, but this place will serve it up for you. The food is great, the service is wonderful, and the margaritas are on point!

I come here at least once a week on my lunch break and am never disappointed! They have standard Mexican fare, unlimited chips and salsa, and great service. The guacamole is amazing as are the vegetarian dishes. Definitely the best place in Whiteland for a decently priced LARGE meal!

Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the Fajitas for two (Chicken, steak & chicken) there was enough for 4 people! Salsa is also delicious!

Service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. Salsa was really good. Decor was bright and unique with plenty of decorations to admire. The food was good and plentiful but not exciting. They have a very large menu that looks more like a Chinese place. It is nice to have something in Whiteland other than a burger joint. I would go there again. They have take-out and their phone number is 317-535-1508. I could not find a website for them. They are located in the strip mall next to Burger King and Subway.

Ordered the #7 which had good a perdido & sides. The service was fast, the server was friendly & I like the scenary. Sat with a family of four everyone's meals were good except the tacos which seemed the meat were an issue.

The food is really great, but the server was anything but friendly. It took quite a while to even order our drinks, and even longer to receive them. While we were trying to order, he was constantly looking away and would walk away from the table while we were trying to tell him what we wanted. He then seemed annoyed when we would stop talking to ensure he was hearing what we were saying. It took 3x of him coming to our table to bring our last set of silverware and one extra spoon for the queso boat we ordered but had no way to spoon out to everyone. However, towards the end of our meal the manager came over and asked us how everything was. After asking him if the waiter was perhaps having a rough day, he made sure to apologize and let us know that he had heard that quite often from our waiter's customers. He ended up taking 10% off and was very genuine in his demeanor. Between 6 people (2 adults/4 kids), for a boat of queso, 1 margarita, 2 soft drinks, 4 waters, and our meals, the bill was $54.86 before the discount. So it was reasonable for the amount is food. We will be back to try it again... and hopefully sit in a different section next time.

We ordered food to go tonight ...my dish was suppose to be a mushroom quesidia...ended up with a cheese enchilada, cheese quesidia, and bean burrito somehow...all of which were cold. The cheese items in mine as well as the kids were all unmelted, cold pile of cheese. Flavor was no where near as good as our normal place. Won't make this mistake again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
