I personally didn't like it. Ok, ok, so call me lame, but when I go to Mexican restaurants I only order cheese quesadillas. If I'm going to eat taco meat, I'm going to make it. Plus grilled cheese is my 2nd favorite food and it's just a Mexican version. ANYWAYS, the quesadillas weren't very good but the cheese dip for the chips was really good! It was a cool atmosphere also. Something I heard was that they reserve leftover food off of other peoples' plates. I heard they were going to be shut down from it, but haven't been yet so who knows.

Much more expensive than other Mexican Resturant alternatives available in Vincennes and not as much bang for your buck either. However there are no issues with language barriers and the entire experience is much more refined and streamlined. Food is excellent, but you will pay for it. Don't expect to save money buy ordering water either as it costs about as much as the soft drinks. Overall a great Resturant, but the prices make it hard to justify for much other than business, or to impress a date. Four stars for great food and dining experience, losses one star on account of being pricey.

Really impressive for landlocked, indeed! If you are stuck making a trip between Indianapolis and/or Terre Haute and Evansville, I highly recommend this warm friendly environment and their tacos and awesome salsa!

This is probably our favorite restaurant in town. They've got great drinks, good food and a fun waitstaff.

La Carreta has good food at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. I recommend trying the fish or spicy steak tacos. My wife and I frequent this place, and we've only ever had good experiences.

The food was very tasty! The salsa was chunky and yummy. The chips were red and gold. I expected bigger portions but it was more than enough for me to eat.

Great Mexican fare. Found fish tacos on the menu. Not the same as Honolulu, but pretty darn good for a landlocked state.

Excellent Margarita's and tasty menu. One of the nicest Mexican Restaurant facilities and I've been to many across the Midwest. Asked for no cheese, took a second try and the "spicy" veggie fajitas were tasty and great variety but needed more spice. Overall pretty good experience and I will go back.

The food was pretty good. The service could've been better. The atmosphere is typical Mexican style restaurant that is in the USA. I lived in Mexico for two years and the food isn't the most authentic but good.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
