Meditrina Market Cafe Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This was sooooooo yummy! The servers were personable, knowledgable and seemed genuinely attentive. We enjoyed every part of our meal. Had the bacon wrapped dates, feta stuffed dates, large combo appetizer, veggie tagine, and a special lamb bacon pizza. Everything was delicious. Our meal with tip came out to about $25/person and we felt the prices were on par with the food and service we received. Only suggestion is to get there early. The dining area is pretty tiny, but we also never felt rushed by the staff or other patrons waiting to be seated. We will be back (and are already telling all our friends about this great find!).

My husband and I just happened to be driving past when we noticed the chalkboard outside that said "Vegan Cheesecake." We immediately parked our car and went inside. We tried two of their new vegan tarts and they were incredible! Especially the chocolate one with the raspberry on it. By far, this is the best raw, vegan dessert we've ever had! We will be back soon for dinner AND dessert!

Absolutely perfect neighborhood cafe. Food is always excellent. I've tried to copy my favorites at home and they are never as good. Service is always excellent, although the food can be a little slow on busy summer nights when the outdoor and indoor areas are full.

It's saying a lot giving five stars to a restaurant in an over-saturated market like Valpo. There are a number of establishments in this area that are worth frequenting. But, Meditrina has earned its places as one of my favorites. I have yet to have an experience at this restaurant that hasn't been wonderful in every aspect. At a time when franchising and expansion seems to be the natural impulse in the restaurant business, it's nice to go to a place that rests on its modest atmosphere and quality. The cafe itself is small and narrow with very limited seating, but this gives it a gloriously quaint and sweet ambiance. The interior is quiet, elegant, and comfortable reminding me of the countless intimate cafes and bistros in France or Italy. Meditrina offers its patrons a simple but delicious menu of Mediterranean dishes including Shawerma, Tagine, Chicken Paprika, and more. Everything I've sampled here has been flavorful and well-made. The portions are somewhat modest considering the price (range $13-$20), but I've always come away satisfied. They were also more than willing to supply extra portions of rice and pita bread to help fill in the meal. If you're wanting a unique experience to help settle your stomach after the meal, I highly recommended getting a dessert with the Turkish coffee. With all of the options for dining in the area, I keep coming back to Meditrina. I assure you that if you like Mediterranean-inspire cuisine, you can't go wrong here.

My wife and I sought a pet-friendly restaurant with outdoor dining. When I walked into the restaurant to ask if it was ok for our dog to dine with us outside, the first thing I noticed was the unbelievable aroma. The food smelled delicious. The waitress was friendly and responded that our dog was welcome. The weather outside was warm and the waiter brought our dog a bowl of chilled water which we appreciated. My wife ordered the beef shawerma pita, while I ordered the paprika chicken. Both dishes were delicious! Our dog was welcome for outdoor dining, service was good and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon.

I guess I expected better. There are two seating choices, noisy inside or outside next to the curb with all the traffic. My party was there for a late lunch on a weekday, and while the serving staff was very helpful and polite, the decibel level of their conversation with "the shrimp guy" at the bar was insufferable. The menu was nicely explained, and both of us opted for the shrimp salad as our entree. Problem was that the shrimp were so over cooked that I think I could have bounced one on the tabletop. Other than that, the salad was great. While our server was still on duty, we were encouraged to linger over our conversation. Once she left for the day, it was plain that we should leave the already-empty restaurant. We did and I won't be back. Three stars reflects our server and the tasty food, in spite of the shrimp.

Excellent food and service and very reasonable including the wine ! Had some live entertainment on the sidewalk to go with a great dinner !

Dined at Meditrina on Saturday night at around 4:30. I had the Chicken Shawerma dinner ($17) and my husband had the Kefta Combo platter ($16). The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. The person filling our water glasses every 2 minutes was a little over-attentive but at least she was making sure everyone was hydrated. My husband thought his Kefta and falafel was a little overdone but he did eat it all and said it was good. My Chicken Shawerma was excellent, as always. Meditrina is still one of my favorite restaurants but I probably wouldn't go back for dinner because it was a little pricey for my budget. On a side note, I would also dine during off-hours because the tables are very close together and I felt like I was actually part of the table next to us. I guess it wasn't horrible since their conversations were more interesting than ours at the time. Ha haa

Excellent food and great service. I recommend the fattoush salad with salmon.

Meditrina's food is wonderful! I never get tired of the menu items like the Paprika Chicken or Med Burger - mmmmmmm, but the specials are usually out of this world! The restaurant is small, and tiny without the outdoor seating in fall/winter, but well worth squeezing in for a bite of delicious home made cuisine!

We tried this place because of Yelp reviews and loved it. There are very few Mediterranean restaurants in NW Indiana and we don't see any reason to go anywhere else. We ordered 4 small plates and a bottle of wine and had a great evening. Definitely get the bacon wrapped figs.

Wowzers! I live in downtown Chicago and eat at a lot of great restaurants, including several Zagat rated Mediterranean places. But i gotta say, this was one of the best Mediterranean meals I've ever had. Especially fabulous was the falafel - so incredibly light, and amazing flavor. The other highlight of the meal was the grilled shrimp, which apparently is locally raised in an artificial organic fishery. It was simply fabulous. We also had grape leaves, grilled scallops, and braised lamb. All delicious. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the baba ghanouj. It wasnt as smoky as we like. I'm seriously considering going back there for dinner again tonight.

Miss this great little cafe!!! Excellent food and service :) Consistent quality and presentation of food. My personal fav is chicken shawarma pita sandwich and egg plant crostini. Highly recommended- sweet Turkish coffee

Great place in downtown Valparaiso. Small restaurant with outdoor seating. Nice variety of tasty food - I recommend going for a variety of small plates, samplers & appetizers to get the full array of Mediterranean (think Middle East, not Italian) dishes!

I chose this restaurant based on other yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed. It's very small and they don't take reservations, but I was lucky and a table for two was available when I arrived to meet a friend for lunch. We both chose two small plates instead of the larger complete meals offered. Mine were Tabouli and the Chicken Shawerma, both were perfectly seasoned and delicious. I would go back for the Shawerma right now if I could. My friend ordered the lentil soup special and the Roasted Pomegranate Beets. Having just returned from Turkey, she of course would be a good judge and she enjoyed both. Our waitress was excellent, and the owner was on hand to chat when things settled a bit.

Great place! Always very, very good. I like the beef shwarma pita, always on point. The eggplant crostini is delicious and their baklava is always very good. Great place for lunch or dinner downtown Valpo! They should expand!

The girls that used to waitress here when it first opened knew us personally because we went there so much. It's just so good. I have never had anything bad here. Love it!!

I did not expect much from a lebanese style middle eastern restaurant in the middle of valpo. Before I received my food I kept thinking "I'm really looking forward to what they perceive as lebanese food. I bet the flavor is going to be so dumbed down." After I finished my meal...I wanted to hug the cook and the owner but I didn't because it's not socially acceptable behavior. Very impressed by the flavoring and quality of food. Loved being surprised by this gem of a restaurant.

There is only one way to describe Meditrina, deliciously intimate! The food was outstanding. Meet some friends for lunch. We started with the Pomegranate Beets, Green Bean Salad and Cucumber Yogurt. So fresh and yummy. I had the special - Grilled Flank Steak with rice, hummus, falafel and a small arugula salad. The steak was cooked to perfection. The falafel was savory and delicious. Very fresh and correctly portioned for lunch. One friend had the pizza special with salmon which she really enjoyed. The other relished a grilled grass fed burger. Delicious!! We all enjoyed the refreshing Rosewater Pomegranate Lemonade. The staff was friendly and attentive, but gave us time and knew the menu. Even the chef popped out of the kitchen to greet the patrons. Delightful and personable. For dessert we shared the tiramisu topped with chocolate chips. It was so light and flavorful. A perfect ending to a perfect visit. Definitely worth the trip from Illinois! A great value too. Moderately priced. Wish you were closer, but will definitely be back.

Food was great, of the beaten path wine selection, nice small place. Outdoor seating too. I had the vegetable tagine wroth chicken added, it was really really good, just a little spicy. The hummus appetizer was perfect.

This is quite possibly the best food in all of Valpo. Though the place is quite small, and a wait for 3 was close to 20 minutes at around 1 PM, I have never had better Mediterranean cuisine in all my life. We started out with a Diet Coke (in a can, no free refills), amaze-balls Blackberry Sage Tea, and a delicious Pinot Grigio (can't remember the name, but they had an incredible wine selection!). For an appetizer, we had the "Deluxe Sampler" which consisted of Hummus, Tahini, Baba Ganouj, feta cubes and kalamata olives with a side of pita bread. The flavors were great and it was very filling! Now, on to the best part of the meal: the gyro. I'm a huge gyro person and I can honestly say this gyro almost made me cry from how absolutely PERFECT it was. The flavors were amazing together and the taziki sauce is to die for! I got my gyro with a side of potato wedges, which, when dipped in the house-made ketchup, perfectly accompany the sandwich. My mom and grandmother got the green bean salad, which was I wasn't a huge fan of, but was still very flavorful. The food is VERY filling so we opted against dessert! The service was fantastic and the ambiance is great for a casual lunch or an intimate dinner. If only I lived in Valpo! I would eat at Meditrina every single day!

I eat here more often than my bank account probably safely allows, but I can't go a week without some beef or chicken shawarma. And that's a problem because the other dishes look fantastic, but I almost always go back to the shawarma. Pair that with the local cheese plate and a cup of cinnamon cardamom tea and I'm one happy diner. The place is small and intimate, the serving staff is familiar and friendly, and the chef is...well, I'm not sure I've had food as consistently good as this place, anywhere.

Really cool place. The seating is pretty tight because it's in a small space. The food and overall experience was great.

Innovative excellently prepared food and ridiculously low in price. A gastronomic your of the Mediterranean countries. Highly recommended. I love the chicken paprika, falafel, chicken shawarma, hummus, and pizza.

Amazing food and service! Everything on the menu will have your mouth watering! The staff is patient and knowledgeable, which made the visit all the better. One of the best places to go in downtown Valpo.

  • Yako S.

Well, we had thought this was one of the better spots, until today. Went for lunch and while looking over the menu noticed the waitress with her hands on the floor adjusting an uneven table. Then she stood up and asked to take my order! Not! Left the place. Disgusting lack of any idea of sanitation! Another restaurant that doesn't get it that there is a "clean side" and a "dirty side" of food service. Nothing like having a server stick nasty fingers into your food- adds to the taste! Permanently off the "Go to list!" Porter County Health Department has an obscure restaurant inspection program. No inspections posted or easily accessible, unlike LaPorte County. Hunch is that inspecting is low on the Porter County Health Department's list. So far, Blackbird, Santiagos, Tates, and now Meditrina are on my "filthy" list due to wait staff who put hands in their mouths, on the floor, handle money then food, or use their hands to clean plates and then prepare food- with no washing. They can do a "how to" on how food poisoning is done.

Everything I've tried here has been delicious! I love that they have outdoor dining when the weather is nice. Great service too.

Fantastic. When you first walk in its a small place with lost of character. Outstanding customer service. I had bacon wrapped dates, pickled beets with potato salad, pan seared scallops and salmon, muscles and lamb on hummus with pita bread and the most amazing chocolate mousse. I drove 100 miles from Chicago to eat here and to be honest I would do it all over again. The chef is super nice and put so much heart and soul into her food.

My wife and I went here for the first time for our anniversary. It was delicious. The service was good and friendly. We started with the deluxe sampler, which was delicious. My wife got the lamb kebab, and I got a flank steak. Both of which were cooked perfectly. The prices were good too. We haven't been back since, not because we don't like it, but simply because, we don't get to eat out all that often. Try it, though. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

A little gem of a restaurant in the heart of Valpo. Excellent food a bit small and food at times can take a while but worth it!

  • Kathy R.

Came back for the second time today. Gosh, I wish this place was a bit larger. Luckily, I got there early and found us a table before my friend arrived. We both had the lunch version of the paprika chicken combo plate. My friend says that they put a sauce on the dinner version (which wasn't on the lunch plate) that is to die for. Anyway, it was still very good and a good value. I had the chocolate mousse again and it left me in a chocolate stupor. Holy crap! I love that stuff!

We live in Chicago during the week and Laporte on the weekends and Meditrina is one of our favorites out of both areas and we eat out a lot. We go for lunch almost every weekend on our way from work since discovering it. Have never been disappointed, NEVER! Curried goat is one of my husband's favorite specials. We often get the eggplant crostini: always amazing. I get the fallafel small plate and it is a lot. Dill rice as a side is mandatory! Chef is wonderful. Wait staff, especially Mickey, is excellent, always ready to give advice on things to do in Valpo. Just a wonderful little restaurant even when compared to the fanciest in Chicago. I did not want to put in a Yelp review because Meditrina is so small and I never want to be turned away: selfish me. Seriously great food. Lovely setting. Wonderful staff. GO!

  • Kevin L.

What a gem! Heard very good reviews from friends so I wanted to check it out. Very knowledgeable and attentive service. Ordered Beef Shawerma and my wife ordered their Goddess Pizza (very thin crust with eggplant, feta, spinach, and other great ingredients. What a flavor explosion. IMO, one of the better places to eat in Valpo; and a decent value as well.

  • Michael B.

I have never found the food at Meditrina to be particularly special. The most common dish I order is the tagine. Which is pretty nice: rather flavorful, nice vegetables. But it doesn't seem very tagine-like. The service is really good. I know other people go gaga over the wine and many of the dishes, but I don't.

Awesome! Vegan friendly which is difficult to find in the area.

  • Katy J.

My first of many visits. I had been wanting to eat here for a long time after hearing so many rave reviews. I had the beet salad (excellent) and the falafel pita. Everything was so fresh, beautiful presentation in an intimate environment, yet not too intimate as it was perfect for meeting a friend for dinner.

  • Susan B.

I'm a little bit spoiled on middle eastern food. I worked in Dearborn Michigan for 10 years and the food there is as real as it gets, outside of the Middle East. This restaurant did not disappoint. Crispy falafel, garlicky shwarma, chocolatey mousse and delicious wine. Friendly knowledgeable server, cozy atmosphere, the most wonderful authentic smells wafting from the kitchen. I was a very happy girl.

Went with a mess of appetizers for dinner. Meat grape leaves. Just ok Pomegranate beets. Pretty good Roasted eggplant crostini. Best item we had by far Deluxe sampler. Just ok I guess growing up in greek extended family household I was expecting more. I honestly would have rather went to King Gyros for dinner.

I should have known when I heard a patron discussing his plate with his server saying, "So, is this one the falafel? I figured it out by my powers of deduction!" This is a good place to break yourself into the shape size and general idea of a falafel ... but it doesn't do the cuisine justice. When I arrived I was starving. Usually that can work in a restaurants favor because it helps everything taste amazing! Not so much this time. If you are a newbie to "ethnic" food and want something that is bland, tasteless, and 100% non-offensive, look no further. This is certainly a mid-westerner's Mediterranean joint... Perfect for the wife who wants to go somewhere other than a steak and potatoes joint and wants to be able to say to her hubby, "See honey, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" But that's not really what I was in the mood for... I ordered 2 of the daily specials and a plate of hummus. The hummus was bland and uneventful. The pita was fine and there was a crispy toasted pita with salt and paprika that was the best thing I ate all night. The soup came out next, curried potato. Yes, it has both those ingredients and a host of other veggies, but it was SO bland. There wasn't any salt in it and the middle eastern flavors weren't enough to hold it up alone. But again, I was starving and couldn't wait for the main dish to come. I ordered a beat and arugula salad with red onions, dried chickpeas, blue cheese and a vinaigrette with an add on of steak. On the plus side, the steak was a perfectly cooked medium rare. The cut of meat was great and it was tender and nice to eat, but not seasoned nearly enough. The salad was puny (as a previous reviewer said... and perhaps I should have listened). The blue cheese was pretty mild and the rest of the salad was just slightly underwhelming. When the waitress came back to see if everything is good I found I could only feign happiness so far. I didn't complain because it's not her fault that the food was boring, but I know I lacked enthusiasm and she could tell. I guess the problem is I really wanted to come into this place and enjoy it - and I just didn't. I kept wanting to disregard the previous item I had order and wait for the next dish to come and wow me. Instead it was just a bland walk thorough a nod to Mediterranean cuisine.

I adore this place. The food is always delicious and different each time I try it. Their feta stuff dates are to die for. It is nice to have a place in Valparaiso with some flair and this place has a menu unlike any other place in town. I have never had a meal I didn't enjoy and the staff is always very friendly. Plus, not too many people bring their children to this place which makes it even better. The only down side is it is a small place and there isn't a lot of seating. In the summer it isn't so bad since there is outside seating, but in the cooler months it can get a little tight. And since it's in downtown Valpo, parking can be a pain.

Best home cooked Mediterranean dishes in Valpo. an easy walk from our office for lunches too! Stuffed or bacon wrapped dates for appetizers, great lamb for main dish, Greek vino too! YUM Small venue, so it gets busy on weekends ( the wait is well worth it) as Meditrina Market Cafe's popularity fills tables quickly.

  • JL O.

Freakin delicious!! Wow!! Hubby and I stopped here for lunch. Very tiny place. Maybe 10-12 tables. Nice outdoor seating as well. Had a very hard time deciding what to eat because it ALL sounded good. We started off with the bacon wrapped dates. YUM!! Those were gone in a flash. Next I ordered the pomegranate beets. These were to die for! The hubby hates beets an there were more than enough for me so I took some home. The potato and garlic that is served on top really compliments the beets. Next I orders the falafel wrap and my husband got the beef schwarma. I loved my falafel. Probably the best I've ever had. I tasted the beef schwarma and it too was outstanding. I wish I had room for dessert because the baklava was calling my name. Maybe next time. I'll definitely be back soon!! Note: my husband wasnt too keen on the place. He's more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He didn't not like the food but I could tell he might not be rushing back with me. Keep this in mind if you have picky eaters.

Really enjoy the food here, especially the falafels! Small, but I don't mind. I enjoy the freshness of the salads and the plum wine was a nice change of pace. I plan on coming here for my falafel fix from now on! The staff is really nice too.

Deliciousness! A wonderful meal each time. Great wine menu, lots of vegetarian options and a variety of flavors that you can't quite find anywhere else in Valpo. We've taken friends here for out of town, and they has really enjoyed their meals as well.

Meditrina is a lovely and quaint spot for a great meal. They constantly new specials ready to try which gives authentic variety. With fair prices and delicious food, I would recommend this place for anyone looking for something different. The space is small but adds to the cozy atmosphere.

Since we can't give half stars, I will rate this as a 3.5, but round up to 4. My husband and I went there for a date night and were fortunate to be seated without a wait on a Friday evening. We started with a sampler appetizer which had very good taboulah and hummus. The wine selection was good and both my husband and I were pleased with our selections. We had the warm lentil salad which was surprisingly great. My husband ordered the special of the evening, a shrimp pasta. It was so, so good. I wish it was a regular menu item. I ordered the chicken shawarma which was average. It was a bit bland for me. If I went back, I would definitely order something different. If you like middle eastern food, I recommend you give it a try.

This was the best meal of our trip to the area over Memorial Weekend. I called ahead to make sure it was okay to bring my dog on the patio and was made to feel very welcome. St. Louis is very dog-friendly with outdoor dinning, but Valparaiso isn't there yet. I appreciated our reception at Meditrina. We had an appetizer sampler with hummus, tabouli and baba ganouj and all three were very good. My friend ordered the Paprika Chicken which had the tastiest sauce. You just wished you had room for endless pita to dip in it. So good! I had the gyro sandwich which was not out of the ordinary, but also very good. I couldn't put it down even though I was full. The service was very friendly although not totally spot-on. Nothing to be overly critical of. It was a lovely meal on a lovely day.

A very nice find. Its always great to find an eatery that isnt the typical American food fare. The place is small and the atmosphere very friendly. During our dining there, a few people walked in that the waitresses knew by name, so they were clearly regulars -always a good sign ! I enjoyed my combo chicken plate with salad, rice, hummus, and pita bread. We were told that everything on the menu except for the bread is made in -house. The eggplant croustini was scrumptious so make sure to try that if you visit. Husband tried the chicken shawerma dinner and finished the last bite with relish. The reason I give them 4 stars is that their bakhlava was a bit dry in my opinion -I like mine more on the gooey, messy side - but the turkish coffee that accompanied it was delicious. Overall, a great experience. We will be coming back !

Finally, a little more upscale Mediterranean food in Valpo. We to Meditrina Market Cafe for lunch and it was as good as the other posters said it would be. Hubs and I shared the crostini with tomatoes, eggplant and balsamic vinegar on toasted bread. Awesome! Hubs had the vegetarian combination plate with felafel (which was his fave), yellow bismati rice, hummus, pita, stuffed grape leaves, and tahini. Hummus was ok, it's better than the store bought. Tahini was great flavor. Great portion size for lunch. I had the balsamic vinegar warm lentil salad. I like it. It was strong on the balsamic vinegar but I truly like that flavor. I ordered extra pita for the side, since it did need something to cut the vinegar. Their iced tea was awesome. I think it was blackberry flavored tea. The price was just right for lunch. They also do take-out. We'll be going back.

AWESOME restaurant! Very small and quaint, giving it a nice subdued atmosphere, and the food is AMAZING. Don't be fooled, it may be a small restaurant, but the menu is mighty. The organic cheese plate was TO DIE FOR. I am so excited to live so close to such a culturally diverse restaurant. Definitely a local gem.

I cannot say enough good things about Meditrina. I come here all the time and my fear now is that it's getting too popular and I'll have to wait for a table. The chef and owner, Sarah Geary, is some kind of culinary wizard. Her cooking is so top-notch that I'd expect this restaurant to be in Chicago, not little Valparaiso. NWI is sooooo lucky to have this restaurant. Highly recommended: eggplant crostinis, hummus, baba ganoush, falafel sandwich, deluxe falafel sandwich, any of her pizzas, any of her pasta specials on the board. Excellent wine selection. To-die-for desserts.

Stopped in for first time. Small yet comfortable dining room. Tried the hummus and babaganoush which was very good served w warm pitas. Since it was early ( late lunch) we opted for sandwiches instead of some of the numerous dinner items. The chicken schwarma filled the pita And was very good. The gyros type burger was lacking in flavor. Finished w Turkish Coffee ... We will go back to try the many great sounding entrees...especially the Lamb Stew.

Had lunch here recently. Veggie options were plentiful. I had falafels, stuffed grape leafs and an eggplant appetizer which was my favorite. Service and food were solid. Nothing was overly expensive. The interior is really small but they have patio seating which helps a little.

We went there on the recommendation of one of our clients and were delighted at both the portions and the quality of the food. We had the beef shwarma and the lamb stew and both were not to be believed. Both dishes were perfectly spiced and given in ample portions. While the dining room is quite small it does provide for an intimate experience. Meitrina is a welcome addition to the dining options in downtown Valparaiso.

In town for business and turned to yelp to find something good and local. This place popped up with great reviews and decided to give it a try. Like everyone else, this place rocks. Hard to believe to find something like this (Lebanese and Mediterranean) in NW IN. I have eaten at many middle eastern restaurants, but none that offered up pasta and pizza specials. Decided to try the appetizer sampler for Mediterranean fix and finish with the pasta special for dinner. Both dishes were out of this world. Whether you live in town or are visiting, this place needs to be on your list.

It was a very small place. With very small tables and very small portions but large prices. The food was very tasty and flavorful. Don't expect to bring home any left overs or to be full when you leave. Staff is friendly. Not too many places like this and I would recommend it for being different.

I've been here plenty of times, and have never been disappointed. Chicken Shawarma is fantastic along with great falafel.

A gem in the NW Indiana. Searching for something new & flavorful, I stumbled upon the positive reviews for Meditrina (not a bad review in sight). I had the spiced kefta with saffron-colored rice, hummus, falafel, pita bread and Moroccan potatoes accompanied by a savory sauce and two other sauces. I think I may have found a new favorite Mediterranean restaurant.

Wow. We were just passing through for one night en route back home to New York City, and found Meditrina on Yelp. It was amazing We shared the bacon-wrapped dates and the Pomegranate steak. Both were excellent. Our server was a sweetheart. Go!

I really like this quaint little Place, hidden off the beaten path. The food is Very Very Tasty. Service is really good. Its great to try all these different dishes from around the world, all in one place. Its kinda pricey and the portions are a bit small. My favorite is definately the Pasta dishes. The spanakopita is good too. Every thing is tasty. Remember not a very big place at all. They have a good selection of wines and beer for those who would enjoy a drink with their meal. I will definitely be going back.

Nice little independently owned dinner spot. Good pizza, some Greek standards, with fun specials. It offers beer and wine, too, in a small, simple, and pleasant atmosphere. Everyone I was with seemed to enjoy their meals.

My new favorite restaurant! Went there last night for the first time after reading so many good things on here. The food was really delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very laid-back, comfortable, and welcoming. Great music also played - French-jazz-sounding music, Madeleine Peyroux, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. We will absolutely be back.

For weeks I have been eagerly awaiting trying Meditrina. Let me say- it has exceeded my expectations! I wanted to try everything! My party of 4 tried 4 different small plates and 4 different entrees not one disappointed. The beets were perfect and the falafel was so good I considered taking an order to go! Can't wait to go back and try the few things we left unordered!

Love Meditrina and Sarah is working her magic again cooking up Mediterranean delights! The restaurant is very small but worth the wait. I love almost everything she cooks, particularly her lentil soup and the hummus here is delicious. I didn't really like the baba but I make it different and am used to my way of making it. I've had lunch and dinner here and it's reasonable and delicious. It's a switch from everything else the town has to offer. Yeah, you'd think you'd find this in a larger city (not necessarily Chicago), but the town of Valparaiso has a lot to offer in the way of "top notch cooking". Check around - you'd be surprised. The town is lucky to have several of the restaurants they do, this is just one of them. Try this for something different and enjoyable.

Bacon-wrapped and feta-stuffed dates, chicken Shwarma that would make Tony Stark blush, and great pizza . . . Service was exceptional! Awesome!!!

We walked past this restaurant last weekend and, on an impulse, decided to have dinner there. I have been consistently disappointed in many of the restaurants in Valparaiso (see my review for Valley restaurant) and truthfully wasn't expecting much. I'm happy to report that I wasn't disappointed at all. The restaurant is intimate and loaded with character and the food was very flavorful. I thought the prices were reasonable and will be back. I really hope that my next experience is just as good, as I'd love to work a new restaurant into the rotation.

Great little place. Have only been once, but we'll certainly be going back. Gyro pita and chicken shawarma both excellent. Can't wait to try more on the menu.

We had supper at Meditrina last night. Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals. Good portions, flavorful food and good service. It will be added to our restaurant rotation.
