Great burgers at all five guys. However I particularly love the Valpo location. The people working here seem to be extra happy and friendly. Young kids that have great attitudes. My favorite is the guy with the cool handlebar mustache. Dude is always super friendly and is very enthusiastic.

I don't get all the high marks/reviews here. Sure, it's a decent burger, but 5 stars? No, sir. It's typical burger meat. I mean, you can get this same burger at local Gyros stands, like George's Gyro Spot in Chesterton, and even that double burger was bigger than this double burger (and cheaper to boot). But I didn't come here to talk about George's. Again, the burgers are decent, fast food/old style burgers, and they're good, but it's not the best hamburger I've had. I guess if I was going to wait a long time, I would care about the peanuts. Oh, you can tell me where my potatoes are from today? Great. Can you tell me that they're organic? How about the beef? Grass-fed? No? You can get a lot of cool stuff on the burgers, and that's nice. They give you lots of fries, and you can get them with "cajun" spices, and that's cool. Fries are decent. Also distracting is all the positive reviews on the wall. They even have positive reviews in the bathrooms...from last century. Once again, I just don't get the big deal here. It's not like there have been places all over Chicago and The Region where you could get this stuff for years now.

I order Five guys every couple weeks using their website and it's always a pleasure. I don't have to wait in line, just walk up to the pick up area, tell them my name and they hand me my bag of food. Food is always hot and delicious! I love all the different items you could put on your burger/hot dog and the fact that everyone working there seems genuinely nice is a little mind blowing. They really seem like they all enjoy working there and working with each other. So I give 5 stars for quality of food, ALWAYS getting my order correct, cleanliness, friendliness and speed/ease of getting my order. Keep up the great work!

Although their hamburgers are pricier than McDonalds they are worth every last tasty cent. Freshly made hamburgers made up your way, free peanuts, huge helpings of fries, & an outrageous amount of choices in beverages. As I like to say if you're going to spend more then there better be quality & quantity. Five Guys has it all.

I give Five Guys five stars. You can make a burger about half million different ways, free peanuts and the soda machine was pretty cool. The meal did cost about $21.50 for two people. But remember these are upscale burgers made from real burger meat and the potato fries are awesome. There is malt vinegar if you enjoy that option.

Friendly, fast, and generous burger and fry joint. A "little" burger is a single and a regular is a double. Similarly, a regular fry is definitely a two-person serving. Quality burgers and fries.

I love Five Guys..... all Five Guys but this one. I have had Five Guys in many of the suburbs and the city and they are 100x better than the Valpo location. The frys are NOT the same and you think they give you a lot of frys in Valpo? That's nothing compared to what they give you in the 'burbs. This location is average at best.

This is the hardest review I have had to write. Everyone seems to rave about this place. Friends and family love it. They think I'm crazy for give just 3 stars. Now don't get me wrong, they serve a very good burger but I've had better. Note that a 3 star is saying they are "A OK". I didn't car for the fries (skin left on type). Place was clean with a good crowd and staff was friendly. Being close to Valparaiso University I'm sure they'll do well.

Great burgers for a reasonable price. Dont get a medium fry unless u plan on splitting it, its enough for 2 people. Great service and will be returning soon. This place sort of reminds me of an In and Out burger but better in my opinion. Fresher products and the kitchen is open so u can see everyone working.

If you are in for a good fast food meal then come here. I have eaten here before. The thing I remember is that one order of fries is for 2 people or so. The sandwiches have a lot of items to add even the vegetarian option. When the place opened they had one of the new Coke fancy machines. Lastly, you can snack on peanuts as you watch them prepare your meal. The places is fun, upbeat, inviting, and always good music.

We came here exclusively for the grilled vegetable sandwich my husband was craving. I had never been to one if these places before and didn't know what to expect. It is decorated quite cute and the staff seems to be knowledgable and attentive. Upon opening the door, your ears are immediately assaulted by the loudest music I have ever heard in an eating establishment. Loud enough so you cannot hear the staff or your conversation partner. We placed our order (had to practically yell it to the counter person) and waited about 10 minutes. There is a self- serve soda machine but where it's located is very inconvenient. It's quite narrow and people going to or leaving the lavatory, waiting in line for condiments or just waiting for soda create a bottleneck. Unfortunately, I had to push through a young lady who refused to move even after I said "excuse me." The grilled vegetable sandwich looked quite nice- grilled onions, mushrooms and tomatoes with crisp lettuce and mayo on a soft plump bun. The fries were true to what I heard- hot, salty, greasy and delicious. Two sodas, regular fries and a grilled vegetable sandwich was around $10.99, which is reasonable for this area. I won't be going back in though, perhaps may order take-away so as not to have to yell at my dining partners.

Great burgers. Fries are good too, but burgers are awesome. Little burgers are single, regular burgers are doubles. Large fry was huge. Way too much for me and my 2 daughters. Little pricy but worth it. My girls loved the soda machine too. It's one of those coke machines with 100 different drinks. Definitely will be back.

Love five guys burgers. We tried the one in West Lafayette earlier this year and were really excited when we heard one was opening here. We haven't eaten in the dining room yet, but I've taken advantage of the online ordering process twice. It's pretty great. I placed the order about half hour before I wanted to pick up, paid online. It's nice, lets you customize everything. Came in for pickup, was able to skip the long line. Food was fresh, ready, prepared exactly as requested. Staff is super friendly, everyone greets you by name if you order online. We'll definitely be back.

Best burger in Valparaiso. Their order of fries is enough for 2 people. We order a single order of Little fries to share among two of us. I order their little burger also, but get it with all the toppings (called all the way). Very tasty.

A clever concept to quick and efficient and great tasting food. Limited menu, burgers, fries, kid stuff and hot dogs. You get to watch the food being made. They throw a patty on the grill for every head they count walking in the door to speed up the cooking process. It all comes down to individual taste buds and preference. You can't rate a restaurant on the pure fact that you yourself like crunchier fries or no skin left on the potato before its cooked. That is unfair to them on their overall qualities. The food is fresh, the fries are cooked in peanut oil, and you can't get these fresh qualities at Mc'ds. If your on a diet this is the place to splurge! Don't get a little burger, the double patty is way, way more satisfying! They give you a ton of fries and they have peanuts for you to snack on while you wait. They even offered me a water to drink while I waited in line. And for you picky reviewers, if you don't like the skin on your fries, base your review on other qualities, not a personal preference!

Love five guys a lot. They have some of the best burgers out there. All the employees are very nice and very curious. Of course when you have the best burgers does come a price. Not saying that they are very expensive but it can add up. With that said, just make sure you have a little more money in your wallet before your walk in. One more thing to remember is that when you order fries, just make sure that that whatever size you get, expect the next size up. That's because they out the fries in a cup and whatever remaining fries are left over, they throw in the bag. But other than that, I love five guys with a passion. It's been my favorite burger place ever. Will always keep coming back here a lot more.
