I tried this place after reading the reviews and I have to say it lived up to all the great reviews. Decor was very nice, staff was friendly and personable. Specifically, Emily (co-owner with her husband/greeter/server). She was super sweet. She explained the menu and seemed genuinely thankful for her patrons visit. Judy was also very nice and attentive. Now for the food. Very tasty and generous portions. To start, I had the Spinach salad with pickle red onion, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. For my main dish I had Emelias pasta which consisted up spinach, tomato onion sausage with gouda. It was delicious. This was great dining experience. I highly recommend this place.
A cute little spot which reminded us of many similar eateries in resort communities. Service was friendly and genuine. My wife had spaghetti with a sauce so fresh she thought the tomatoes had been picked this morning. I had a unique pizza which was both light and filling. We enjoyed it.
Excellent atmosphere, delicious food - extremely fresh and tasty. Owners are very service orientated and made our dining experience great.

Had a great sandwich and fries at pats. First time here but next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop . Highly recommend the Jason's Revenge sandwich.
Wow! Prices are very affordable and you will not leave hungry. Ok make sure to check the daily specials board. Wife had a delicious pork tenderloin sandwich with tasty toppings, crispy fries along with a medium drink for $6.50. Daughter had a naked dog, crispy fries and a drink for $4.5. Myself, I ate two Chicago dogs (very tasty) along with a drink and fries for $5.50. Added a small side chili for .75 cents and it was outstanding! How the bill came to $20 and we left full and enjoyed our meal blew my mind. Order at the counter and the bring it out to you. Steady crowd of locals coming in and out while we ate. The owners are very nice, helpful and I can see why the locals flock here. Do yourself a favor and avoid the chains. Cheese steaks, although we did not have looked very good.
The food never disappoints! Reasonable prices, friendly staff and good food equals a great value. A taste of Chicago right here in Syracuse, Indiana. Could use some deep cleaning and maybe some new carpet, but that won't stop me from going back. If we let the kids choose where we eat, we are going to Pat's!

Let me say though that my review is many about their deep dish chicago style pizza and their staff. Being from Chicago, I am very picky about my pizza. We like the order the deep dish with sausage, green pepper, and onion. We are lucky to have several different deep dish pizza places in this area. They all are unique in their own way, but they taste great too! In the past we did visit Sleepy Owl for the Sunday brunch and we were disappointed. So it may just be about when you go and what your order.
For a small local restaurant/bar we were pleasantly surprised. They had a wine list (I love places with wine lists complete with descriptions). I had beef burgundy salad and my husband had broasted chicken. We were both very pleased. The server was very friendly and efficient. We were there for lunch but their dinner menu looked awesome so we will likely go back some time for dinner.
We went....we ate...I will probably never be back. Our waitress was exceptionally rude to top it all off.

The wait for the food is unacceptable. This weekend we waited for 1 hour to get our food. Earlier this summer we waited for more than 35 minutes for a take out order. Preparing 2 breakfast orders of eggs, sausage and toast should not take that long. Something has gone wrong here.
Great coffee, good food, fast service from a friendly wait staff. Huckleberry pancakes are a treat!
I see why they call the place Cool Beans Espresso" . Vanilla Latte with whipcream was awesome. Great breakfast too, spinach, ham and cheese omlette. It's super casual....what I would call a local whole in the wall...but those are always the best. The waitress was friendly, I would go back again.

This is one of my family's favorite places to eat when we stay at the Oakwood Inn. We love the royal feast pizza, that's basically all we ever order. I'm not sure the pasta or salad dishes are all that great, but we love the crisp crust pizza cut into squares with toppings that are finely chopped. Keep it up!
We went for dinner with a young child. Our waitress Linds was extremely kind, attentive and helpful. She even kept up a good attitude when a water cup was spilled. The food was good and timely, the prices are fair and we didn't have any problems finding a table on a holiday weekend evening.
One of our favorite pizza places for sure. Not the cheapest but it sure is good. Friendly staff is nice as well. The breadsticks are awesome. They do have a pretty good deep dish pizza too.

Wonderful location with a great view. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Food was great.....we had the appetizer mussels and they were some of the best I've ever had! I had the soft crab sandwich and my wife had the seared ahi tuna salad.....both really good and we left full and satisfied. We would definitely come back again. I've seen some reviews of their limited menu and it's true..it's not huge but I felt there were plenty of options and I would rather they do some things great instead of a lot just mediocre. Full bar plus a decent craft beer selection
We weren't very hungry but still enjoyed our meal, high praise indeed. We walked in without reservations close to noon on a Sunday. We were cordially greeted by the staff and taken to a nice window table with a great view of Wawasee. Drinks were great, mimosa for me, bloody mary for my husband. Lunch for me was an appetizer, mussels in a garlic wine sauce, one of my favorites and these were some of the best I've had. My husband had the crabcakes appetizer, two generous crabcakes that seemed almost all crab and very fresh. Our waitress was wonderful, casual but not overly familiar, nice level of service. We look forward to going back when it's warm enough to be on their patio by the lake.
The back porch is a perfect gathering spot in the newly renovated Oakwood Inn at Oakwood Resort! They had 8 beers on tap consisting of their own beer brewed in the old chapel on site called "Wooden Boat". It was very similar to a summer shandy. They also had Three Floyd's; which is hard to find in this part of the state; let alone anywhere! Great job and atmosphere Back Porch Inn! We'll be returning!

A small little dive in downtown Syracuse, IN! The food menu is pretty large in variety, anything from salads, to entrees, sandwiches and burgers. We indulged in the delicious burgers, they tasted very fresh and well portioned. They don't come with a side, but the separate side order is very generous. They also have a large variety of craft beers on tap that are reasonably priced. Only gripe is the smoking inside... The service was great as well!
They have the best burgers in town and the biggest beer selection. Great craft beers. I go there often and have never had a problem with the service. If you don't come in and act like you own the place you will not have any problems. They are your servers not your slaves.
The food is great, but it doesn't excuse the owner's attitude. I went in with a few friends for a birthday drink, and the owner thought it would be a fitting time to chew someone in my party out about the behaviour of his friends on a seperate occasion months before. The staff is hit-or-miss; sometimes the service is great, sometimes the servers have better things to do than help you.

Fantastic experience. The wait staff was exceptional. Started with appetizer of lobster bites. Went with the special of Michigan grown whitefish, baked with a cherry sauce. Red mashed potatoes and lobster bisque (soup of the day) as sides. Finished with homemade carrot cake. All aspects of the meal were phenomenal to say the least. I had a great experience and will return for sure. The next time your considering going back to the Frog for the second, or fifth or tenth time, I would definitely considering giving the channel marker a try!
Keep it in perspective! This is a nice place to have dinner on the lake just don't expect a restaurant with a Michelin star in this small community. This restaurant has a nice location, right on the Wawasee-Syracuse channel, with lots of windows and an outside deck. We have had wonderful service both times we have been here in the last few months. Our food has been above average for the area (way better than the Frog). I had a half slab of ribs (OK), spouse had the perch basket (quite good). I had the grilled fish tacos the last time we were here and they were wonderful. One complaint: the french fries were tepid, would have been outstanding if they had been hot. Don't shortchange us on that kind of detail. We'll give this another try during the busy season to see if the service stays the same. Fingers crossed!
Service was excellent. Stacey provided great service and made our experience unforgettable. Food was fantastic too.
