Joe Huber’s Family Farm & Restaurant

2421 Engle Rd
Starlight, 47106
I recently went here on a field trip with my daughter's school. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We had a buffet style lunch that was good fresh home cooking. Fried chicken, green beans, fruit salad and fried biscuits. It was very filling and delicious. I would deffinatley bring the kids they would have so much fun here. They also have tractor rides and a petting zoo.
MRS says... Overall it's a 3-star rating because: Food - two stars. we were hoping to try the father's day buffet but unfortunately, we had our name down on the list inside the restaurant not in the country picnic building. there weren't any signs either so we were just lost. anyway the father's day dinner platter in the restaurant was a bit pricey. for $19.99 per person there's two pieces of fried chicken, two pieces of sliced ham, mashed potato, green beans, a white corn, and chicken pot pie. the warm bread was good and that's about it. Barn - three stars. variety of games, rides and activities for children. animals happily roaming around. Farm - four stars. strawberry picking was great!
The restaurant is my least favorite of all the Huber destinations. The food is good, but not great. My overall impression has always been that the food lacks seasoning. A little salt and pepper go a long way, especially on the side like the green beans and mashed potatoes. My favorite items are the fried biscuits with apple butter (NAILED IT) and the strawberry shortcake (man, I wish I had some of that right now!). This is a place you could eat maybe once every year or two and it would be enough. Best suited for large groups due to the family-style serving.
