This is my go-to donut shop wherever I am in the WORLD! Linne's Bakery has shipped donuts to me in Guam, Spain and even the Middle East while on deployment. I love their nut rolls - I have been eating them for as long as I can remember. When I go to Shelbyville - this is one of my first stops. I hope they never go out of business because then I wouldn't have a reason to go back home for a visit ;) Thank you for always supporting me over the years. You all are the best and I always feel at home each time I stop in to order my few dozen to take with me!

I love this place! Best place to go for doughnuts, pastries, and cakes. Everything is very good and fresh. I've never had a bad experience. They might run out of one or two items occasionally but overall it's great.

Unfortunate to hear about the cake experience in the other review. I however am in sales and deal with customers all over Indiana and my customers love seeing me when I'm bringing them Linne's donuts (specifically the cake) and or cookies. When you talk to people who no longer live in Shelbyville, this is one of those places they always come to when they are back in town. In addition to the wonderful products, they have come to know me by name and always go over and above to make sure I'm treated well. Linne's helps set me as a sales rep above my competition. My customers know when I show up, I don't bring low quality baked goods.

You have to get there early..but the pastries and brownies are some of the best around. They have changed a little throughout the years..but this place has been close to my heart since I was a child. You can't go here all the time though..you'll get fat!!

This is my hometown and I'm sure you're thinking "of course she'll give it five stars" and you're right, but only because they deserve it! Linnes has been a staple in this community for decades. I grew up with the delicious taste of warm glazed cake donuts and fluffy twisted yeast donuts in my mouth. When I was little my mom would take us in, get us a donut and a carton of chocolate milk and we were set. Families STILL do that here. They go in late at night to begin making fresh donuts and pastries for each day. The recipes and quality has always remained the same over the years. Aside from donuts they have the best iced sugar cookies imaginable. They always have some freshly decorated in store, and if they don't...give them a call a few days ahead and they'll make you a dozen! My grandpa orders a dozen pecan rolls every Monday for his week. If this place ever closes I will be lost. Now it's a rare treat for me since I no longer live there. If you're passing thru Shelbyville for any reason this is a MUST try! But be sure to go early!

This place looked old and cute from the outside. The inside has many glass counters with pastries and cookies. It was later in the day so they didn't have much out, but they had awesome looking sugar cookies with pink icing in the shape of hearts (St. V day was near). Both my hubby and I consumes those bad boys and were pleased. The bags were adorable (took a picture). If I lived closer, I would like to try other items, but for what we had, I was happy wih the experience.

The pastries and doughnuts are the best. My family especially likes the "nut rolls" - a honey bun type roll with icing and crushed peanuts on top. We also like the butterscotch squares, cake doughnuts, old fashioned cinnamon coffee cake and French cream coffeecake. My out of town family members always request their favorites from Linnes whenever they visit! I'm marking it 2 $ because the doughnuts are higher than the grocery stores, but they are worth it!

I went to a wedding and we had Linne's all weekend! Everything was absolutely delicious and well presented. Worth checking out for local pastries! Yum!

Love supporting small businesses, and this one is awesome! You can't go wrong here! My favorite items are the doughnut holes, twist, and thumb print cookies. You have to get here early to get the good stuff. The decor inside is very cute.

Very clean and well kept business. Its larger on the inside than it looks. Lots of tables to sit and eat, although it seems most orders are to go. The glass counters are full with all types of pastries and baked goods. The staff is friendly and helpful. I request the pretzel bread when I get a deli sandwich, as it adds a nice texture and flavor. Prices seem pretty spot on for this type business. Parking can be a bit uneasy depending on the time of day. Get there early at about 5am if you want the largest selection right out of the oven. The yummy smells alone are probably full of calories, but the oh so delicious taste is worth it.

Hands down the best Eclaires anywhere! The iced honey bar cookies are addicting and I don't know of anyone else who makes them. Our out of state kids request them every time we go visit them!

It is with heavy heart that I write this review... My parents got their cake from Linne's 50 yrs ago this year. I wanted to support and be happy with this place. We ordered a 3-tiered, square, white cake with ivory butter-cream frosting and a sheet cake for enough to serve 175 people. Each tier was supposed to be simply decorated - one with polka dots, one with squiggles, and the third with swirls. My mom and I provided the flowers and topper for color. Diane assured us that if we brought an ivory napkin from the venue they could match it to the cake. We brought one to them two weeks before the wedding. The morning of my wedding day we get a call and they can't figure out how to get into the venue to deliver the cake. My mom is upset and stressed and I spend quite a bit of time on the phone with the planner, venue owner, and Linne's trying to corral everyone and figure out which doors are open. Ends up they all were, they just weren't at the right place. I get to the venue to get ready and am asked, "Susan, what color of cake did you order?" Huh?? "Ivory." "Well, it's pink." WTF??? Pink? I am not a pink kind of person. I honestly thought she was yanking my chain. Well, sadly, she was not. The cake was light pink. Seriously? How do you bring a pink cake over and not think I'll notice? I called and she gave me some lame excuse about how hard it is to match ivory and you have to make it darker because it fades while you are driving, etc. Okay, if you can't match ivory, just tell me - I would have stuck with white! Then, the decorations - we paid over $400 for this cake and my sisters and I could have done a better job of decorating. I was SO disappointed. Not sure if I can post pictures, but if I can, I will. The actual cake underneath all the icing was chunked together and uneven. My mom called and met with Diane. She did finally agree to give her the $50 tinting fee back - since it was tinted pink. But, as far as the extremely poor quality of the cake and the decorating, she gave her nothing. I called a few days later and tried to talk to her. Honestly, I feel like a 50% refund would have been reasonable. I asked her to have Bill (her husband and owner) call me to discuss it. He has never bothered to call. I think 3 months is a reasonable amount of time to wait for restitution. She stated that they did the cake to the best of their ability and that was pretty much it. The pictures in the book that they showed me do not reflect the quality (or lack thereof) of cake decorating skills that I received. I wonder if they would be proud to show off the pictures of my cake. I somehow doubt it. Pictures are posted on my profile. See for yourself!
