High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

I must preface this review with the fact that I have NEVER had good food at any APPLEBEES until now. My boyfriend convinced me to give it one more shot...I'm glad i did last Saturday 9/12/15. We both had the new burgers with the hash browns and egg on them...They were AMAZING! Also came with endless fries which were HOT AND FRESH with each batch. Most notably was our server, Andrea. She was efficient and friendly. We even stopped to give a compliment about her to her manager. I will no longer call it, "Crapplebees"!

Not impressed at all. When we entered we were not greeted at all. We stood by the front desk for a couple of minuted passed by and ignorex by a couple of servers. No hostess in sight. When she appeared from the back, she asked if someone was taking care of us and rolled her eyes when I said no. That did not give a good impression of the teamwork in the restaurant. As to food, the steak I ordered came undercooked (bloody instead of pink) and then it was overcooked (not pink at all) after she brought it back. The rest of the party seemed to enjoy their antrees. The waitress was pretty nice, but we had to wait for her for some time to come to our table to take drink order. Overall, 3 stars, ok, but nothing special.

Best applebees I have been to in a long time. All three of our meals came out hot and delicious. Very nice staff who made sure you had everything you needed or could possibly need. If you want a delicious, hot meal this is the place! Plus now that the season is changing new items were added to the menu. Next time we head that way we will stop at this applebees for a meal.

Apple Bee's had a good select many years ago.. But they started jacking with the menu and most everything is like they slapped a Asian or Mexican dish in a blender with something American and turned it to allot of the same tasting slop. I try to steer clear as much as possible. I'm just say'in...

One star because the waitress was horrible. The food was ok. We ordered two of the sandwiches that were supposed to get the endless fries however our waitress never came back to offer more or give us a chance to ask for more. She came back to collect our plates and hand the bill. Also I ordered a water and you'd think with all the salty food they serve they would KNOW to keep the drinks full. But she did not. Only when she dropped the bill did she finally ask if I wanted another water "darlin". Seriously do your job lady, keep the drinks full. It was water for Pete's sake not like you ran out. But instead she was worried about holding down her chair with her bum instead. I had to actually go and find her to pay for the bill. Again she gave us the bill and went and sat on her butt. The store was not busy, the waitress was not working hard, and there was no excuse for the poor service. Note to the store manager, please instruct your staff to keep the drinks flowing. Your food is salty and it is needed. And also if there were sandwiches ordered on the endless fries menu then please have your servers ask if we'd like more fries. It's that easy.

We had lunch today, Friday the 13th at Applebee's. I hesitate to say anything negative but my lips are still kind of burning from lunch. I had the lunch menu of tomato basil soup and the strawberry avocado salad. The soup was salty, didn't finish it. I expected fresh strawberries but they were soggy and not fresh, and very few. I don't know what the salad dressing was but it was awful. I think it was the salad dressing that set my mouth on fire, didn't finish that either. The salty soup didn't help. Good thing I didn't have to be back to work because I would have been late. There was hardly a soul in the place but it took forever for our food to come. Very disappointed. I almost forgot. While was sat waiting we watched the bartender cut up pineapple. No gloves, not sure if that is required. The greeter came over, leaned over to talk to the bartender and picked up a piece of pineapple and said something. Conversation over, she walks away and the greeter tossed the pineapple piece over on the bar side and went to greet a customer. We both went ewwww.

I also don't normally review restaurants, but when I am seated at the bar with only two other patrons and am not even acknowledged by the bartender, I feel a negative review is warranted. Even the manager didn't seem overly upset that I walked out.

The food came slowly. We liked that because we were having good conversation. The waitress was one of the best I have had from this type of restaurant (Applebees, Chili's, etc). She gave us to go drinks without being asked, always seemed to be in the area when we needed something, and was pleasant and positive. If you go to this Applebees ask for Ashley.

Service is poor at best. Half of the items listed on the menu are not even available when you order and cleanliness is obviously not a priority in this restaurant. Portions are small and over priced. I would recommend Chili's or even White Castle before visiting Applebee's.

I must say this place is over the top accommodating. They will play the music you want- claim to be an O'Charleys if you think it is one, make any drink, Bring you as many glasses as you like- Its not a bar - you know what an applebees is but this place really strives to be more and I applause them for that.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
