DAN IS THE MAN, but to define this golden nugget as a "taco stand" is an understatement. This place rocks.my .socks. every time I visit! Beach tacos are great, but I dare you to explore the rest of the menu. I order a double cheeseburger almost every time I visit. I have tried their delicious tenderloin sandwich. I've heard the Ribeye sandwich is to die for as well. My problem is that when I find something so good, I get fixed on it and never want to change. My apologies that I've not sampled the entire menu. There's a special place in my heart for that good ole redhead, Wendy. Her cheeseburgers are the best in fast food, but I'll break my sacred vow with her to tell you that I much prefer DAN's double cheese. Yes, you should order their homemade curly fries. Yes, you should get them loaded with bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Yes, you should compete in their restaurant food challenge and get your photo put on the wall. Forget the other "well known" deep fried grease trap restaurant in Rossville. Stroll down a couple doors and give Dan a visit. Dans has a fun environment (who wouldn't want to think they're on the beach?), friendly staff, and they offer all of the necessary ice cream fixings. Everything is right in this family restaurant. There's something on their menu that everyone will enjoy. I will continue to take my friends and vote with my wallet that this gem is the best spot in town.

After driving by this taco stand multiple times for athletic events in various adjacent towns, we decided to give Dan's a try. Really like the place. Bright and cheery and the teenagers working were attentive and responsible. Got the beach tacos and milk shakes. Both yummy but not sure if the corn tortillas were supposed to be soft or hard. Somewhere in between and we didn't care.

The steak sandwich is wonderful! I wish it were on the menu every day... not just on Friday. I also love their taco salad. Visit this great little gem son!

YUM! INDIANA BEACH-STYLE TACOS! If you get a craving for Indiana Beach-style tacos during the fall, winter or early spring ... try Dan The Man's Taco Stand in Rossville, Ind., just east of Lafayette. Dan's tacos are very, very close to the originals, which Dan reportedly learned to cook during a summer job at the amusement park on Lake Shafer in nearby Monticello, Ind. Maybe not quite as greasy as those at the Rivera of the Midwest, Dan's versioin certainly satisfied our IB taco needs a few times this winter. The ocean-themed downtown family restaurant also offers tenderloins and other evil, but delicious menu items. I hope they stay busy and keep it going. Family owned and operated businesses are important to local economies, especially part-time jobs for area students.

Great food! Something different than fried food or pizza. Eat a meal or stop in for some ice cream.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
