My husband and I enjoy the Thirty-Six. The food is of good quality and value. I had the the "Biker Babe" burger off of their Hogs Pit menu (only available weekends, seasonally) and really liked it. We will definitely come back.

Good food. Live music. Drinks are cheap. Nirvana Try their homemade chips! They also have a nice outdoor deck with grills going in the warmer months. Pretty much the only place to go in Rockville.

The food is what you pay for, the servers went through the motions and in the end I will never go back. Here's why. I decided to splurge and order a chocolate shake. When I got it, it looked like a mix of blended ice cubes, milk and chocolate sauce. The worst milkshake I have had in service. I decided it would be fine considering there prices were low but when I got my check, the shake turned out to be $4.67. DON'T ORDER THE MILKSHAKE. In addition I was over charged for my food. I made up for it in my tip. Thanks for ruining my evening.

Service is lousy. They have a sign that says 'family room' so we stopped for lunch. We stood their at the hostess booth with our two kids. The waitress looked at us twice and continued to do other things. After a few minutes we just walked out. Poor service. I gave 3 stars because they have a cute patio. Inside was cute but quiet (and their were people in there). They could use some music for atmosphere. Not good for families.

Great place to have a good meal and beer. When we were there they had a live band. I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a nice evening at a local bar.

I think I found a new favorite restaurant. The Thirty-Six Saloon has a reputation of being a biker bar but we were seated in the family dining area. There is also a separate bar area and an outdoor area called the Hog Pit (weather permitting) with tables and where the BBQ is slow cooked. The decor is interesting if you are into taxidermy. (I'm not, but it is what it is). The entire interior is wood and lot's of it. Even doors blend into the walls with only handles giving clues that it is a doorway! The food we had was outstanding. I had sirloin and my husband had rib eye and they were the best steaks we have had in a restaurant in quite a while. The menu includes a wide selection including lot's of the meat slow cooked and BBQ'd. The price was reasonable: $48.00 which included 3 beers, cola and a side order of onion rings and baked beans. The service was excellent and the place clean if you don't count the peanut shells tossed on the floor. They have live music but we were there for an early supper. It is quite a drive from where I live but I DO plan to go back!

When you walk into a biker bar-slash-barbecue joint with two small kids, you don't expect to be greeted with a smile...but we were! My family was hungry after an afternoon exploring Parke County and we were pleased to find this restaurant is truly able to cater to all. There's a bar inside, an entire outdoor bar and seating area, and family-friendly seating as well. The food was your standard barbecue, with a few creative menu items here and there. It was hard to decide, but I had the "Biker Babe Burger" which was a burger topped with brisket, onion straws and fried pickles- yum. It was served with homemade garlic chips which we enjoyed with a cup of queso. I also appreciated the variety on the kids menu and the healthy options available. For the divey, peanut-shell-covered atmosphere, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the place, accuracy of our order, reasonable prices, and cheerful service we received. If I'm in the area again, I'll be back!

It's kind of biker bar and kind of steakhouse. There are lots of neon signs and animal heads on the wall. Lots and lots of wood grain all over the place. It's one of those joints where you can scrape peanut shells on the floor and I've never really liked doing that. I was in the mood for barbecue so I got the brisket sandwich. It came without sauce but the table has a bottle of house bbq. Sandwiches come with fresh made chips which were an acceptable substitute for French fries. You won't find kale on the menu. I liked it and I'd go back if ever in the area. I could tell that the owner had made some significant investment in the restaurant and outdoor bar area. I found the service to be acceptable and the prices to be reasonable. I think this place would benefit from a killer signature dish to keep people coming back.

Was I little leery at first to come in, thought it was going to be a biker bar or something. First off the smell of the smoker pits was heavenly. Then as I walked up (just a little before 9:00 pm) I saw several families with kids and was at ease. We were greeted immediately and sat then a server showed up promptly got our drink orders. Typical saloon with peanut shells on floor and dead things on the wall. The most difficult part was deciding what to order. The menu had many choices and all sounded great. Starter of Fried Pickles were great. Ordered the Hog Burger, hamburger topped with cheese and queso, pulled pork, smoked brisket and sautéed onions and peppers. Fanfreakingtastick!!! The pork and brisket are smoked in the pits outside. Oh! The 36 saloon table BBQ sauce is amazing. Kinda want to swipe it from the table and do BBQ shooters later. I will be back!!!

This place was great. Good service, good food, good band, reasonable prices. The owner Mark was a really nice guy who explained how he did some of the incredible work putting the bar together.

Uh...ehh... this place was interesting... If you are interested in visiting a taxidermy museum, this is the place. The service left more to be desired. I bought nachos and had to request salsa, cheese, and sour cream... because those aren't usually on nachos? I found it odd that they couldn't divide up a pitcher of beer on a tab. The food was okay. I probably won't be back.

Fantastic choice for dinner away from Turkey Run! Interestingly, the bar outside serves different food and has delicious bbq. We loved the atmosphere, food & drinks. There was even live music on a Thursday night.

We ate here at the recommendation of a park ranger. He said it was the most popular place in town. It has a good size cowboy bar and the restaurant has the same hunting theme. The food is just ok and everything is fried. You can however get the hamburger grilled. It would have been good if the bun wasn't cold and hard. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich which was a breaded and fried piece if pork on a bun. No flavor whatsoever.

The only reason I gave it a three is because of the decor. Service was great, neat place with lots of big timbers and outdoor/hunting stuff with beautiful mounts. The food was just bar food, hamburger and breaded tenderloin that were just ok and the sides were just ok. Looked like they had a good draft beer selection. If you are out cruising around looking for a beer then this is your place, find somewhere else to dine.

Great burger and also a great chicken philly sandwich which they added jalapenos to per my request. The beer was nice and cold and the staff was very friendly. Also free salted in the shell peanuts and you just throw the shells on the floor. Nice atmosphere. Great place!

The Thirty-Six is a nice place for a burger and a beer and to watch the game. The food is okay, nothing special but the staff is friendly. There is a very limited beer selection - only one micro-brew and no imports. The menu is filled with fried stuff and burgers and the like. There are free peanuts! The place is clean and friendly and walking distance from our B&B.

"We are committed to satisfying our customers with great food and excellent service." The above quote is from Thirty-Six Saloon's website so it baffles me why we waited an hour to be seated and than we waited another 1.5 hrs and we still didn't have our food. We spoke with the manager who didn't want to take any responsibility except give us an excuse proclaiming how "busy" they are... There's NO EXCUSE waiting 2.5hrs for BAR FOOD no matter how busy you are!! As it turned out our waitress admitted to "forgetting" to turn our order in. In which I found it hard to believe, seeing how we inquired ab our order a couple times and she supposedly checked on it..... At that point we walked out!! We have been coming here since this place was a little one room hole in the wall, every year it gets bigger and the service gets shittier....*** NEWS FLASH*** Stop adding on to the place if your kitchen and staff can't keep up!! You forever lost our business and I can guarantee you'll continue losing business pretending you can handle big crowds when you have a one room hole in the wall mentality!!!!

My husband and I came across this restaurant while staying at a hotel in Rockville. Inside has great décor and atmosphere. Peanuts are available and you throw the shells on the floor. The menu is a little small, but the food is definitely very fresh and delicious. Appetizer we had onion rings which were so crispy and not covered in oil at all, the salad was your average salad nothing special and nothing bad, the porterhouse steak was well worth the $19. You did not even need a knife as it literally melted in your mouth. So delicious. Waitresses look presentable and are very friendly. Would definitely go back if we are in town again. Oh and they have banned smoking inside which is a definite plus!

Not impressed. First off let me start by saying I hate cigarette smoke. It honesty makes me ill. I should have known better to give this place a try since it is mostly a biker bar. There was no place we could find to eat that wasn't in a crowd of cig smoke. The decor is interesting, lots if dead animals and beer signs. The woodwork on the ceiling was neat. Our waitress was not friendly, acted like she didn't give a crap. She also refilled my drink wrong, annoying. I would have preferred to not leave her a tip. The food was ok. Fries were good, but everything else was subpar. Needless to say, will not be returning, not worth the money, although you do get free secondhand smoke.

COMPLETELY GD AWFUL! Service-horrid. Food- frozen then fried. Prices expensive for the quality. I am 100% truthful when I say the chicken at burger king is 10x better. RUDE, SLOW service from the waitresses. Also please note some "positive" reviews below are also saying they will never return. I wish the OWNER was on site 8/11/13, you should be ashamed!

Rockville, IN. Population slightly over 2,000. Clearly, no San Francisco. Don't ask questions; I'm not even quite sure. Until then, if you get your kicks the same way i do (traveling through miscellaneous places), I highly recommend this little bar. First, there is beer..lots of it. It is comes cold with a side of great people watching. Welcome to America. Second, you can smoke in the bar. Clearly Dorothy, this is no longer Kansas (or technically more Kansas and less California). Third, there is taxidermy all over the walls. Real animals! Pretty much, tourist heaven for me. Moose...a definite must have. Grizzly bear...check. Badger...you can only imagine. Of course, the best part of this bar is the local feel. There's no better way to start a trip then seeing an old friend in their stomping grounds. The place also serves lunch. I stopped by the next day and had the daily special. Chicken salad and potato chips. The chips were amazing. i have never had fresh potato chips before. The chicken salad my friend wouldn't even touch, so you can't say it was just my foreigner taste buds. It probably would have been more sensible to get a burger. I would think Indiana seems to be a place with plenty of cows. Let me leave you with an image. Asian girl, middle of Indiana, standing on a chair in the local bar, getting a mugshot with the stuffed Grizzly. Sorry friend for humiliating you in your hometown.

Good casual place with a decent selection on the menu and not overpriced. Lots stuffed animals. The nachos weren't that great but the other munchies & sandwiches we ordered were delish and the bartenders were great. Looking forward to going there again.
