8-7-2015 unsure how to add another review, but just had their stuff taco pizza and had couple the same their create a sampler again, only same item was fried mushrooms, but had their cheddar jalapeno poppers, and then their Shrimp Jammers which I got to say the Shrimp Jammers are awesome in my opinion. The pizza as well was awesome. I got to say I think it was Sunday or monday of this week (8/2/2015 or 8/3/2015) My girlfriend and i chose to give Gelsosomo's a try. Only heard about them because my lady use to do print work for them(unsure which location), but besides the point spoke to a manager let them know we were trying them for first time, so we went with some appetizer just too humid to eat pizza in my opinion. so we tried their create a sampler, had the Primo Nachos, calamari, Santa Fe Chiken egg rolls and we ordered their roast beef sandwhiches, and I got to say the food was all awesome,. Only thing bit disagreement with but was different was the achos, I was hoping for nacho style cheese or something but seems they use shredded cheese as well(To Gelsosomo's Pizzeria, if you read this not making a bad point just opinion) Either than the the food was good. Sometime in near future we will order a pizza from these guys as well, since there have been awesome reviews it seems :) Some will have a hit or miss, but I can go off bad reviews without trying my self, just a #1 rule I have.

So damn good. Every time we go, I eat like it's Thanksgiving. I can't get anything like this where I live, so I have to crush it like it might be the last time I will ever have the opportunity. It's even really good cold the next day. Thin crispy crust, sweet/savory sauce, and the pizza comes out piping hot. Can I have this flown to me?

Ok... Maybe people are questioning the 5 stars, but from me it's kind of a surprise since I don't really like pizza... Gasp! I know! But this place is great. Always fresh, great sauce... Just good pizza.

Gelsosomos pizza is the worst! I'll never understand how people vote them as best in the region every year. Their pizza tastes burnt and they skimp on the ingredients. If you want real pizza go to JJ's, Edwardo's or even Bam's in Portage. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I would rather get a Little Ceasars and I hate their pizza!

OK, Northwest Indiana is not known for its pizza, but this place is by far the best in the area. It's a little pricey ($21 for a large cheese pie) but compared to other options in the area, there is no comparison. It's just an old time pizza parlor with a nice feel.

I was at this place earlier today. I was never told pizza was scolding hot. My pizza burnt my lip. I was never offered ice. The waitress could clearly see that I was dipping my fingers in my pop for ice.I asked to speak to management he did not do anything either for me. A extra slice of pizza or to not pay for my drink would had been nice. There also was knats flying around. Worst customer service ever. Don't go here to eat!

I try to make it to Gelsosomos on a regular basis. In my mind it is far and above the best pizza in the area. The pizza sauce has a bit of a sweet taste to it which is just perfect in my mind. My wife really enjoys the antipasto salad I personally think they put too many olives on it. The service is always on the spot, you never are waiting for your waitress to come by and check on you. The only bad thing I can say about the place is on weekends sometimes you have to wait for a table. Which I guess means I am not the only one who enjoys Gelsosomo's.

Mixed feelings on this place. I absolutely love their pizza and think it is the best I have ever had. The service that 2 of the last 3 times we have been here has been terrible. I put up with it simply because I love the pizza. I wish the experience was better.

I have ordered from here a couple of times when staying in a local hotel. From what I can see, they have about the best pizza available for delivery in the area. I have tried most of the others, and this is by far the best. Good tasting think crust pizza, sauce has good flavor and the crust actually tastes good unlike most other others which could just as well be cardboard. If found this place a bit pricey for the area (I might expect these prices in Chicago) but worth it compared to the garbage their competitors will deliver to you. I rather pay a bit more for something that tastes way better. Another nice things is that they don't OVER cheese your pizza which is something alot of places do to mask the lack of flavor.

All I can say is this chain advertised in the local paper that their new location in Highland Indiana is open an there were coupons. When I called there was no answer. I then called the Portage store to find out if store was open. The person who answered the phone gave me the wrong phone number. It was to Service Pro. When I called the store in portage back, I was then informed the store will not be open until Thursday and they still gave m e the wrong phone number. You all should be embarrassed by this miscommunication and wrong information to the public.

I really want to like this place because it's close by my house and not many places deliver to my neighborhood because it's on the county line and situated more towards the country area of town. Their pizza is ok but it's not consistant. I have yet to find anything else on their menu besides pizza that I like. The wings are ok but they always short your order 2-3 wings, the italian beefs are disgusting and the appetizers that sound like they would be good are usually a disaster (i.e. buffalo blue cheese fries). I order the pizza occasionally when I'm having friends or family in but again only because this is really the only place that delivers to where I live.

My favorite place for pizza...and I looooove pizza, love the crispy crust and the sauce & cheese is so yummy. It's a nice family restaurant and it's usually very busy. I just get mine delivered. The prices are little higher but I think it's worth it.

We decided to give this place a try as it was recommended to us. So off we went on a Sunday evening. My wife, fond of anything noodle, ordered pasta Alfredo with chicken, the kids went for their signature pizza. I ordered something "meatballs". Pizza: despite their young age my kids are quite the pizza connoisseurs. They liked the taste of the sauce a lot but were less than excited about the dough: it seemed under-baked, pale white and was kinda chewy. Pasta: this was horrible. The only thing to compare it to was Chef Boyardee at 180F. Yes, it could have come from a can. Meatballs: nothing worth remembering, a little sandy in texture. About the place itself: a little mish-mash of styles with plenty of room between the tables. Somehow the place seemed packed but then again, where else does one go to dinner in Portage Indiana :( Sorry, we are normally pretty easily satisfied, as long as quality and price are somewhat related, but in this case it was not. For the 65$ we paid we would have expected something 2 stars better.

I had heard this place has won awards for their pizza, and was told it is pretty much the best in Indiana. So, of course, I had to try them. Their pizza is not bad, but it is nothing special either. Kind of bland. Definitely a step up from Pizza Hut or Domino's, but certainly not the BEST pizza. Here is the kicker, and why I gave it two stars - I ordered a large thin crust pizza (15") with three toppings and the bill with tax and delivery came to nearly $30! The menu on their website is out of date (I don't know what year it is from, but the same pizza was going for $18 or so at the time). Bottom line is that the food is not bad, but they are WAY OVERPRICED for what they give you.

Pizza is pretty good, packs quite a punch in their special sauce, although their specialty is thin crust. Extras and pastas are obscenely priced (Somewhere around 6 bucks for 5 roasted cheese ravioli), but overall it's a nice place to eat. If you can help it, try to eat in, the people there are nice, and the atmosphere is very warm. It's an interesting place. If you have the money, check it out, it's pizza is (almost) one of a kind. (due to the fact that they sold their special sauce recipe to the local chain (Aurelios). Edit: I tried their deep dish pizza, turns out it's absolutely great, although pricey like their other items. Be sure to get it if you're a fan.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
