We dined here for the first time today. Based on Yelp reviews, it was tagged to be a very good place to eat. It was indeed EXCELLENT! Amie (our server) was very attentive and kind (mother-in-law's 85th birthday) We will definitely come back again. It was worth the 2 hour drive! Highly recommended!

I stopped in Plainfield about a month ago, just passing through. I found several recommendations for Stone Creek Dining Company, checked out their website menu, and called in an order for pick-up. I had the Braised Pork Shoulder which came with green beans and mashed potatoes. The pork entrée was great, no complaints. Surprisingly, it was actually overshadowed by how good the sides were. Neither were run-of-the-mill quality, Stone Creek obviously makes an effort to ensure all aspects of the meal have flavor. The green beans are called 'bacon braised green beans' and were a 9.5 out of 10. The 'Sweet corn jalapeno mashed potatoes' were my personal favorite. It's a flavor I've never seen in mashed potatoes before and now I'm stuck trying to find it somewhere out here in Washington. Overall this meal was the best I had in my 7 day cross country trip and probably the best one I've had for quite some time. The portions were large (I had enough left over to eat it as brunch the next day) and the value was great. I don't remember exactly how much it cost but I remember thinking I would've easily paid more after eating it. As I stated in the beginning, I just called in my order, picked it up, and took it back to my hotel. The restaurant interior looked very nice (upscale casual) and clean, I wasn't there long enough to fully evaluate it. The location is interesting too, it's part of a small "shopping city" that looked like you could make a day of. Nothing bad to say about this place, if I ever have a friend headed through Indianapolis I'd tell them this is a must-stop.

It's been a mixed bag at Stone Creek. I've had some really awesome experiences where the food is fantastic, and there's no denying that the atmosphere is that of envy wishing your own home could be so well-designed, but I have had one weird night that just keeps my rating down to a 4, that could have been a 3 had my next trip not made up for it. First, yes, this is right next to a movie theatre frequented by teenagers more anxious to talk gossip during a film and cut you off in the parking lot which already fills up fast, but there is a hostess that you just know when she's having a bad day. Went for a special occasion once, with a reservation, and the hostess was just rude, everything from the "greeting" if you want to call it that to her clear annoyance of having to work at all. Then we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation where I found myself quoting Seinfeld about trying to understand the point of the reservation, yes 5 to maybe 15 minutes can be expected, but when it's 30 minutes on a common night to be out and 1/3 of the tables are empty and you just want away from the moody hostess... just not a good start. I have seen this hostess still there, but in a slightly better mood, just never fond of being blamed for wanting to enter their establishment, but it did feel more like an isolated incident. Hold on. I feel myself recalling more details of my last visit post-Ms. Moody Pants. Food, by the way, has always been great. Check your zoo/coupon book too before going, great deal in there. But I am recalling the 18 year old girl who apparently seemed to think that someone was there to discover her singing voice. We were seated near the kitchen, but not to close that you would hear everything, just the tunes of Adele randomly, and out of tune, being displayed every time the girl went to get beverages. Honestly, if I'm out to dinner with my husband, friends, whatever, I don't want to hear your audtion tape. So I now find myself at an impasse. The food is very good and worth trying, but the service is really hit and miss. So as I write this, I think that I will have to downgrade to a 3. Just too many annoying occurences at a place that I would otherwise love. On a final note, I do recommend the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, you won't regret it..... but keep in mind that the show isn't technically part of the dinner.

Another huge success in the chain of Cunningham restaurants. If you like Boulder Creek, Mesh on Mass, or the other sister restaurant Charbono's, then Stone Creek Dining Co. is a sure favorite. The menu is the backbone of its' success. At SCD Co., they don't take any entree for granted and they bring presentation with flavor. The potato leek soup is a great starter, followed by a Seven Field Green salad, a Durango beef medallions, and Cranberry-Golden Raisin Bread Pudding. If steaks are a little heavy, then select from a wide range of entrees from the sea. You won't find the every day, run of the mill, entrees within the creatively decorated walls set for ambiance. Every attention to detail from staff, atmosphere, location, and menu selection was well thought. Great for parties, celebrations, private catering events, or small romantic dinners.

One of my favorite places to eat in town. Definitely try the house salad, and go on a Wednesday for half price martinis! Everything I've had has been good - my favorites are the tilapia, crab cakes, and Tuscan penne.

We chose Stone Creek based on Yelp reviews, and were not disappointed. Sun King Cream Ale on tap is great recent addition to the bar, and the bread and oil they bring to your table at the outset are good enough to forgo an appetizer. The Caesar Salad they serve is excellent, with a minimalist approach to dressing that is a welcome relief from the overloaded and soggy salads many restaurants are serving these days. Eating from the early bird menu, I really enjoyed the Horseradish Dijon Crusted Sirloin at a reasonable price. The one complaint preventing me from giving five stars was that it was not a great cut of meat, with some tough and gristly parts. It was cooked and seasoned very well otherwise. I will definitely return to try some of their other menu offerings, as there are plenty to choose from. Do yourself a favor and try Stone Creek if you are in the area.

I recently went here for a work dinner. I would have to say- attentative service, great food, and decent prices for what you get. Let's be real, this is no applebees and a sure way to impress a date. I would recommend it, try it out

I had this before having Charbono's and enjoyed both. Each are owned by the same parent company and have very similar menus, but I enjoyed my experience at Stone Creek more. The food was delicious and the portions were appropriate for what we paid. The waitress we had was very friendly, also. I recommend giving this a try if you're in Plainfield. With as diverse a menu as they have, you're bound to find something you'll like.

A chain, I'm assuming, but the salad was quite good actually. I'm not usually one for salads, because the lettuce most places serve 9 out of 10 times looks like something that came the back end of a local cow. This was a bit different though, it was actually crispy, had this farm-freshness about it. However I have to mention that the place smells a bit funny. It's like the distinct subway smell procreated with the distinct olive garden smell to produce a weird garlicy-bready-chlorine-based-cleaning smell.

Stone Creek is the best restaurant in Plainfield, IN. Don't be fooled by its location in the garish neon-obsessed mall. The dining room here is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff are all excellent; friendly, efficient and effective. The food is simply wonderful. I've tried the seafood (crabcakes), the steak and the pasta. It has all been perfectly prepared, beautiful and delicious. Even the salads are spectacular. The prices are not cheap but you get what you pay for here. Which is nice.

No need to go crazy on this review. Stone Creek is a perfectly acceptable, slightly upscale, casual dining experience. Service is so/so, atmosphere is a step up from a Cheesecake Factory, and the food middle-of-the-road, but not memorable. I wish I knew some local spots near the hotel/airport, but this seemed to be a safe bet for a business dinner.

  • Bob G.

Nothing to brag about here. Service was not around much to check our drink situation or to see if we needed anything. The only positive was the food, it was decent. I wish the review was happier but I feel like I wasted a half days pay for a celebration dinner. Take care, Bob

Went with a party of 9 and our waiter, Mitchell, was great. He took excellent care of us. The fare was about half good, half bad though. Hence, only 3 stars. The pear martini was fabulous--not too sweet and very tasty. The calamari was pretty good as well though it would have been much better without the greasy sauce on it. My husband had the tofu dish that came with some amazing mushroom wellington. My daughter had the fillet mignon and said it was very tasty as well. On the other hand, the seared tuna appetizer was tasteless and the halibut special was so over cooked as to be almost inedible. The only saving grace on either were the excellent sauces-wasabi soy on the tuna and some sweet chili sauce on the halibut. On desserts, the flourless chocolate cake was good but very rich. The creme brulee was one of the worst I have ever had. Still, the service and the atmosphere made up for a lot.

Great food - no question. Super martinis. But our waitress was clueless. She didn't know the drinks well enough to pour them in the right glass for the right person. Somehow I think the S'more martini would've been better if she went through the effort to bring it garnished with a toasted marshmallow as described and dumped it in the glass with chocolate drizzle instead of pouring it in my dinner companions used glass which had a citrus martini. I mean wow - for $8 get it right we were her only table as they had just opened.

This place is average at best. I had a Caesar salad- decent. Rib eye, not so much- on par with Applebee's , certainly not 'upscale casual'. Ate at the bar and the service was friendly but inattentive. Ordered a baked potato and got mashed. No big deal but hey , this stuff is not complicated. My glass of wine was borderline turned. The location is another inside out mall which is just fake a downtown in the wasteland. Another reviewer said 'This is the best food I've ever had'? You need to get out more Bro'. Convenient to my hotel is the best I can say. If the other sister restaurants are like this I will avoid them all

We were seated quickly. The menu had a nice range of dishes, several that were or could easily be made low fat. Gluten free items were noted on the menu. Our items arrived quickly and as ordered. Our waiter was great. Overall a great experience and I will definitely go back when we are in town again.

I was in Plainfield for a weekend board meeting and we chose Stone Creek for our group dinner Saturday night. We were a group of 15 so they gave us the upstairs room to ourselves. Herein lies my one issue with the place. The upstairs is not ADA accessible and they didn't bother to check with us first to see if a flight of stairs would present a problem for anyone. That aside, I loved the place. To begin, several orders of Fried Green Tomatoes and Artichoke Dip were ordered as appetizers. While neither or these is my thing, the others in the group raved over them. I ordered the 12 oz New York Strip which was served with baked potato & chef's vegetables. While I would have preferred a better choice of veggies, the steak was exceptional. It was cooked perfectly (medium), melt in your mouth tender and wonderfully flavored. The potato was fresh and fluffy. The others order a variety of other items from their menu and no one was disappointed. The person sitting immediately next to me ordered the ribs and loved them. The Pan Roasted Tilapia and Tuscan Rigatoni was also hits among a few of the others and apparently the salads were to die for. Everyone in the group seemed quite pleased with both the environs and the food. The service was quite good as well. Our primary waitress was fast and efficient. When it was time to serve they devoted enough staff to present all of our plates at pretty much the same time and all the food was presented at the right temps! While I placed the costs here in the moderate range, that is based solely in the entree prices because if all you have is an entree and a Coke, you can get out of the place for under $30 pp, but just barely. However, if you have a drink/wine, appy, and desert, you really need to think more in the $50 pp plus tip range. Regardless of the prices, the food and service here are excellent and I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.

I met Mr. Kent at the Stone Creek restaurant. He was a mild mannered man and he shook my hand graciously from across the table. I couldn't help but think that he looked very familiar as sun set behind the theater across the street casting a soft glow on the polished stone and glass interior of the restaurant. The waiter approached and set down warm soft bread and some spicy seasoned dipping oil. "So what brings you to Metropolis?" he asked. "Business," I replied, "and you?" "Oh" he said, adjusting his glasses awkwardly, "I'm a journalist." I nodded as I was munching on the soft bread. The waiter returned and placed our orders in front of us. The Stone Creek Seafood Broil for me, the New York Strip for him. I ate my meal, enjoying each bite. The Mahi was buttery and delicious, the crab cake crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and served with a Chipotle aioli. Shrimp and Scallops were perfect, served with garlic butter and I alternated bites as to prolong the experience of each. The veggies were fresh and steamed, the couscous large and al dente. As I closed my eyes and savored the last bite. Suddenly Clark stood up and asked to be excused as he rushed to the door grasping at his tie and shedding his sport coat. A blur of red and blue passed by the window. WTF? I thought as I paid the bill he stiffed me with. That's the last time I agree to meet a guy from Comic Con for Dinner!

Stone Creek is upscale casual dining, I'm sure very popular in the Indy burbs. It's across the street from a movie theater to give you some idea. (Think Clyde's for DCers). Very interesting interior, a credit to the place, youthful elegance. Spacious. Excellent restroom. And, Stone Creek has even more going for it. Wonderful complimentary bread, truly some of the best I've had at a casual dining establishment. The best deal is the salad. Ordered the seven greens salad, SC's take on the ever popular cranberry/blue cheese/arugula salad that is a staple at these restaurants. Very good. Not soaked in a super sweet viniagrette, ample cheese. They remember that a salad should taste like a salad, not dessert. Large, filling portion. Then I had the corn chowder. Ooo. Not good. Horribly oversalted. Started just fine, but I don't know if by accident or purpose, all that could be tasted by the fourth bite was salt. Service was professional, courteous and efficient. Final thoughts pertain to the location. This is an odd little outdoor mall, surrounded by a vast parking lot that serves as a moat. It's like the strip mall behind the strip mall. Nice in every way, but this mall epitomizes the consequence of the absence of urban planning. Plainfield, hard hit by the housing crisis, needs to carefully think how to proceed into the future. It's a shame that not just a decent restaurant, but a decent mall is left to languish on the very fringe of unsustainable sprawling exurbia rather than thrive in a deliberately planned neighborhood and city as it ought.

Always great atmosphere! I had the steak with seafood cous cous. It was excellent! The steak was a perfect medium. The sauce in the cous cous had a good zing to it! The carmel cheesecake was excellent, although just too much to eat on top of the great meal (and I took most of the cous cous home!). Great early bird menu for weeknights features selecions much like those on the menu but for half the price!!

Took the family for a Sunday dinner. Had been there a few times in the past. It wasn't very busy Sunday evening at 6:30. The decor is good and the service was excellent and attentive. Ordered the 7 green salad (?) child's mac & cheese, New York strip and the campfire pasta. Salad was great, with dried cranberries and mixed greens Steak was perfectly prepared to our request for medium Campfire pasta made with andouille sausage and chili sauce had a good amount of heat Our kids liked the seasoned bread served with chili olive oil the best. We'd definitely return another evening.

I've eaten here a few times when friends flew in on business and wanted a nice supper near the airport. The pastas are excellent, the seafood dishes, the Caesar salad also very good. The bread with a spicy dipping sauce, unusual and good. The atmosphere, very elegent, certainly "date night" if you were so inclined and we always had good service from the staff. For the cost though, the steaks were a huge disappointment the two times we ordered one. Cooked right, just not a good cut of meat, small and tough and though accompanied by some good veggies, the baked potato was really tiny. We'll go back, we just won't order the steaks.

We had reservations from Open Table and our GPS got us turned around. We called and Stone Creek pushed back the reservation. We were seated right away. Parking is rough as the restaurant is next to The Rave movie theater. Atmosphere is incredible ... trees in lobby stained glass chandeliers ... hard wood floors ... contemporary ambiance. Our order was in 5 minutes after we sat down. The staff is professional and quick. The food is the best we have had in a long time. From the soft bread and in-house dipping oil to the soups and main courses (I had the Smothered Chicken, my wife had the Chicken Scaloppini) this was a perfect experience.

Went to lunch there today with my coworkers. One of them was from out of town, and a strict vegetarian. He ordered the campfire fettucine with NO MEAT. The waitress ordered it that way for him. When it came out, guess what. It had chicken in it. My coworker is vegetarian due to his religion. This was a pretty big mistake. We sent it back, and the manager brought out a new dish that he said he watched them make himself. He then gave us some cards for a free dessert on our next trip. He ate about half of it, and then guess what.... chicken again. What the hell. Are the cooks at stone creek going to fast for three days as called for by my coworkers customs? I couldn't believe it. They comped our meals, but we won't be back. The only bright note is that our waitress was fantastic.

I selected this location to take my Parents to celebrate not only their 36th Wedding Anniversary, but my Mother's 61st Birthday as well. I clearly attached this to the reservation for the evening. When I arrived, the hostess was rude and seemed completely disorganized though the restaurant was completely empty. We were sat in a corner where our server could barely get to us as a very large party was seated immediately behind us completely blocking us into our seats. The server forgot the appetizer and attempted to serve it to us with our dinner. We were rushed through our total dinner experience so much so that we simply decided to get dessert elsewhere rather than continue the ridiculous service we were getting. Nothing was done at all to recognize my parents nor my Mother. And to top it all off the server not only attempted to blame me for miscommunicating the appetizer order (even though I clearly stated when order we would be starting the evening off with the Shimp Appetizer) she blamed her bad hearing as well. The entire experience was unacceptable. I have been a faithful customer to not only Mesh on Mass. Ave. but Charbonos in Avon and found that this experience in the Plainfield Stone Creek fell short of all expectations and has me questioning ever patronizing any of their establishments again in the future. I selected them because of the previous service I have received, but left MORTIFIED that this is where I chose to take my parents to celebrate.

Great food, great drinks! If you are looking for a nice dinner out and have a taste for gourmet and wine, you will not be disappointed in Stone Creek. They have amazing, inventive, gourmet food selections on their menu, and everything is cooked fresh. The menu allows you to interchange ingredients giving you the chance to add or subtract ingredients according to your special taste. The wine and drink menu is extensive, and the bartenders are very friendly and able to accommodate special requests. The staff is very friendly. Lots of times you can find coupons for this restaurant as well, which makes it even more worth the trip! They are located right in the Metropolis Mall strip, next to the movie theater. I cannot think of a better dinner and a movie stop! The food is consistently amazing and the service is consistently attentive and helpful. If you are looking for fine dining in Indianapolis, look no further! Stone Creek is the place! They are owned and operated under the same supervision as Boulder Creek and Charbonos. All of these restaurants are at the top of all restaurant standards. You will not be disappointed if you stop in at any of their locations.

If my wife and I want to go to a nice place for dinner, this is where we go! It is our favorite. We have been to several of the "up-scale" restaurants in down town Indy and we prefer Stone Creek to any of them. The steaks are fantastic, we love the fresh bread. Actually, I haven't ever orderd anything here I haven't loved. The staff is great.

I have eaten at Stone Creek 3 times and my experience has varied significantly. The first time we visited, I would have rated the restaurant a '5' (4.5 rounded up). I ordered the fried green tomatoes with Hollandaise sauce, goat cheese salad and a martini. Food + service was outstanding. The second time we visited, I would have rated the restaurant a '4.' Food & martini were still yummy but the servers were confused as to who was helping us which resulted in quite a long dining experience. Last night we had a not-so-fabulous experience. It's sad to say, but if our last night's experience had been our first, we probably wouldn't have gone back. Service was SO slow. We waited too long for our main dishes. I once again ordered the fried green tomatoes and my husband ordered the chicken parmigiana. I have a feeling my tomatoes under a warmer until his entree was ready. They were burnt, mushy, and all of the sauce had been absorbed into the breading. On the plus side, my martini was delicious as always. If I were to recommend this restaurant, I'd say go on a Wednesday night when the martinis are half off...that way you're sure to have a positive experience regardless of the food quality or service.

It's hard to find good seafood in Indiana! I travel for work a lot and the options are slim, but this place was a solid find! I got the seafood broil and everything was cooked perfectly. The chefs vegetables were amazing and everything was well flavored. My waitress was so sweet. Great service and great food.

My wife and I went here with two other couples recently and we loved it. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for and appetizer and were pleasently surprised when we tasted the coctail sauce. There is probably only one other place I have had shrimp cocktail in Inidianapolis that I think is better and that is at St. Elmo's/Harry and Izzy's. The atmosphere was excellent, not too loud so that everyone at our table could easily carry on a conversation. The service was excelent, the waitress was very attentive and took very good care of us. I had the baby back ribs which were very good and my wife had the crab cakes. Three other people at our table had the blackened Mahi Mahi and all said they loved it. All in all this was an excellent dining experience and we will be returning again.

The menu offers many choices with reasonable prices. The waiters are friendly and make a lonely traveler feel welcome! The shrimp cocktail is great. Excellent. Everything about this place was excellent. The bartender Diana was beautiful, elegant, attentive. The drinks were perfect, I had a few rocks margaritas. The food was perfect. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. It came with a medley of veggies which included carrots, zucchini, squash, and broccoli, and a delicious baked potato with a crispy, flavorful skin. If I am ever in town again, I will absolutely be back. No complaints!

I've eaten here one time; probably because I'm a vegetarian and they don't offer a lot for people like me. I ordered a salad, which was tasty. Service was good, atmosphere is trendy and nice. A little pricey for my taste. Never returned.

This review gets one extra "bonus" star for the atmosphere. This really is a very ascetically appealing restaurant. However, the food was heinous. Dear god, it was awful. We had a party of five and no one liked the food. Our calamari appetizer had the usual dipping sauce poured over it. That is a really short sighted, stupid thing to do. It ruins the entire dish for anyone who does not like the sauce (like all of us). My crab cakes were BLACK and charred. I cannot speak personally to the other entrees as I did not try them, but they looked bad and everyone reported back that they did not like their meals.

Everything on the menu sounded amazing. I think I just got unlucky and chose poorly. So I advise against getting the crab and scallop fettucinne. The individual ingredients tasted great but combined together were a bit weird. However, my husband's horseradish-crusted sirloin was delicious.

  • Derek C.

This is an Applebee's with slightly better decor and higher prices. The end result is limited by the quality of the ingredients. The other 5 star reviews simply reflect that there are no real dining options in Plainfield. The greater Indy metro area has fewer than it should for a city of its size but head downtown. You'll at least have some significantly better options for the same spend.

We wanted steak and when the company is paying go for it. Very nice place, tastefully decorated very inviting and comfortable. The bar area was nice and a good selection of beer and other beverages. We were sat in a booth in the back. The booths are huge 6 people comfortably. Our server came up and took our drink orders. She then explained the specials and highly recommended the filet. That was enough for me I went for the 8oz filet with veggies. This was a very delicious steak. Tons of flavor and just well prepared. We all enjoyed our meals. The only issue we had was we felt rushed. After we received our drinks and placed our orders. the salad's came out right away. I was hungry and snarfed mine up, others were a little slower. But it did not matter, out came the main course. The place was not too crowded but it seemed they wanted to move things along. As I said the steaks were delicious. I would go back for the food. But taking off one star just to rushed.

Honestly I was not too impressed with this place. When you see the inside and menu it looks like a great place. I ordered a grilled dish and it tasted like it was fried and covered with so much oil that I could barely stomach the dish or vegetables. They serve complementary bread which was one of the best I've had and basically that served as my meal and filled me up.

However, if you have a drink/wine, appy, and desert, you really need to think more in the $50 pp plus tip range. Regardless of the prices, the food and service here are excellent and I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.

My husband and I went as first time customers yesterday for our anniversary. We went for an early dinner (about 3pm) and had no wait. It was a Monday night. The ambience was beautiful and relaxing, our (infant)daughter joined us and no one seemed to mind. Our server was sweet and prompt, and we were sure to tip her well. Bread and a vinegar based dip was served alongside poured bottled water. The menu offered a variety of options. Appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, and entrees. I had the campfire pasta, husband switched from ribs to breaded tenderloin at the last second. Mine came with white bean chili soup (yum) and I shared with the baby. Husband decided to get a salad. The side salad was huge and filed him up before his sandwich arrived, but it made for a nice left over. My pasta was pretty good, but a bit heavy on the mushrooms and cooked spinach. I also had plenty to take home. Overall it was a pleasant experience. I rated it 4/5 only because I wasn't overly blown away by the food. While ambiance and great service does go a long way, I tend to rate restaurants primarily on the quality of the foods itself. I guess I wasn't impressed enough to return on a special occasion. While the menu offered a few options in each category, I had trouble finding something that even sounded good. I'd rather have the opposite problem and have trouble finding something because everything sounds good. Maybe this place just isn't in my lane. Id encourage you to definitely try it for yourself!

Stone Creek definitely deserves 5 stars. Our waiter was great and knowledge. The food was amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's a great place for a date. Must get a bottle of wine to compliment the food! Def get the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Try the salad. Majority of their dressings are homemade.

I definitely grade Stone Creek on a bit of a curve, as Plainfield has pretty limited dining options for even a moderately refined palate. It's not exactly a revelation, but if I want to stay close to home, it's a good choice. I really like the calamari, spinach dip, and baked goat cheese appetizers. The tuna is next on my list to try. Oh, and the bread and oil are very good. The soups didn't do it for me, however. My boyfriend is crazy about the Campfire Fettucini and the burger, he won't try anything else. Yeah, that guy! Ha. Both are great, though. The tilapia is very good, it comes with sweet corn cake and a spicy salsa and cilantro aoli. I had a great filet with lump crab there, and recall the bread pudding as being very tasty. They have a few salads I really like, they work well with the nice patio seating. They also have half priced wine bottles (Mondays, I think.)

Great modern atmosphere, really enjoyed the design of this restaurant. Definitely a "date night" type of venue. Ordered the chicken parm with the pasta and red sauce, was a huge delicious portion. Recommend for a dinner/movie night, as the theater is only a few steps away!

Nothing to brag about here. Service was not around much to check our drink situation or to see if we needed anything. The only positive was the food, it was decent. I wish the review was happier but I feel like I wasted a half days pay for a celebration dinner. Take care, Bob

Stumbled upon this restaurant when staying at a hotel nearby and it was recommended. Given that there is truly nothing near our hotel, I was skeptical of any recommended location. But I was pleasantly surprised by this venue. Decor is fantastic - very classy. And the food was all impeccably served. My steak was a perfect medium rare and my crab cake had very little filler with lots of big crab chunks. Just right for me. Everyone else in my party was also satisfied. Good job!

I had the Spicy Chicago Beef sandwich. It was good by itself, but even better with the a jus and giardiniera. Fries were good and ketchup tasted freshly made. Bread pudding was okay, but the brownie Sunday was huge and delicious.

I was in town with a coworker for a conference at a near by hotel. The horseradish and mustard crusted sirloin was delicious. Moist and juicy cooked just right, medium rare, with lots of flavor. I was hoping and expecting to taste the horseradish, however, there was no horseradish flavor. That is the only negative from my visit. Waitress was awesome, Katie, sorry if I spelled her name wrong. Next time, if ever I am in the Indy area again, I will defiantly come back.

We have been here several times and we keep coming back. It's nice to have a good place to go eat in Plainfield. We have found we prefer the Horseradish Dijon Steak over almost everything on the menu. I have also had a couple of the pasta dishes (most recently the angel hair pasta with shrimp) and they are also delicious! I have had the fried green tomatoes appetizer and the ahi tuna. So good and I recommend both. If you are over 21 and are just stopping by to have a drink the bar is a great quiet place. We enjoy doing this every so often. Best part to me is the atmosphere and not feeling like you are just inside of an outdoor mall.

Stone Creek...it is what it is. First: if you make a reservation here for a larger party (i.e. more than 4), expect that your table will NOT be ready on time. We tend to choose this place when hosting a larger group for dinner [that I'm not cooking] since few places around Plainfield take reservations. 5 out of 5 times in the past 2 years, our table has not been ready upon check-in. We're talking groups ranging from as small as 6 to 12...and they can NEVER have a table ready. One time we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. Minus 1 star for that ridiculousness & poor house organization. Second: The service here is not that great. The hostess desk is frequently very aloof & snooty (hello...you are working in a glorified strip mall in Plainfield, get over yourself). In fact, I've never had anyone greet us with a pleasant face or even a "hello" not given in a flat voice. The servers are frequently inexperienced, scattered, or busy chatting with one another. It's frustrating relative to the cost of most meals here, thus we normally choose to travel into Indy if it's just the two of us. Minus 1 star (although with a few of the experiences, I really want to take off more stars). But most importantly, the food is actually good here. The menu is huge, the options are plenty, and most dietary preferences/restrictions can eat here...so they will get a 3 in my book (even though I'm *never* excited to go here...). We'll be back, begrudgingly.

This is a go to place for when I really know I want something good. I usually stick to wine, the bread and be salmon salad. The bread is seriously the best bread/oil combo I have. And that is a lot of past tastings! One person can take this down fast. Cough cough I have. The salmon salad is my favorite salad. Salmon has always been cooked perfectly. Try it blackened. Lunch time is always calm and the staff has always been friendly to me. #PartyOfOne

We like Stone Creek in Greenwood, but decided to try the Plainfield location one Friday night as it's much closer to home. The decor is very upscale and classy. Seating is comfortable. Menu mimics other locations with the exception of a few things. I have to say, I always get the same entree (Short Ribs) and I felt as though I received a slightly better portion here. Same dish, with a bit more protein and it also seemed to be more flavorful. Mr. Jen F sticks with the 8 oz filet and it's always very well cooked and nicely seasoned. Their wedge salad is very good. I feel compelled to get it every time. We had a nice time and good service.

Other than the strange view of a movie theatre right outside the window this is a very nice mall restaurant. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The pre meal bread and dipping sauce is very good. Serving water with no ice seemed strange. Overall recommended.

Compared to it's other neighboring sister restaurant (Charbonos), this one is better in my opinion. Feels much more upscale, and the food is great. Complimentary bread is served with red pepper olive oil and it's much more appetizing than other restaurant's complimentary bread. Great wine selection for alcohol lovers and great place to bring your significant other on a date ;) Food: 4.5 Service: 4.5 Price: 4

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Westside of Indianapolis. It has a great looking modern dining room and serves upscale Hoosier comfort food--like pork tenderloin. Amazing French Onion Soup! Just a tad salty and the portion was a bit underwhelming, but the fried onions were an awesome addition on top. #clever I had the Sea Scallops and Goat Cheese Risotto. It was pretty good, but the risotto wasn't quite right. The rice was a tad undercooked and the goat cheese wasn't well blended. The components altogether were somewhat disjointed. Guess the Sea Bass looked as though it would've been a better choice.

I have NEVER been disappointed! My husband and I frequent Stone Creek since it is a tad bit nicer than the other chain restaurants in town. We have been for both lunch and dinner multiple times. They have a great menu for both lunch and dinner. My all time favorite is the Mahi Mahi over a dirty rice with guac and pesto aoli drizzle. Price is a little higher than most other places in town, but ambiance and deliciousness pay for themselves!

I love everything about this restaurant! I came in today after work for a relaxing meal and drink. The short rib grilled cheese is wonderful. Highly recommended. And the wine selection is desirable, considering I just moved back from wine country. have always had great service when I eat here. Today Katie did an amazing job with my visit -- attentive, friendly, and fast! I will obviously be back!

I had a variety of menu items from fish to steak and all were well prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and great for date nights or hanging out with friends. I will be back many more times.

I've eaten here one time; probably because I'm a vegetarian and they don't offer a lot for people like me. I ordered a salad, which was tasty. Service was good, atmosphere is trendy and nice. A little pricey for my taste. Never returned.

Everything on the menu sounded amazing. I think I just got unlucky and chose poorly. So I advise against getting the crab and scallop fettucinne. The individual ingredients tasted great but combined together were a bit weird. However, my husband's horseradish-crusted sirloin was delicious.

Good job!

  • Sarita B.

It's hard to find good seafood in Indiana! I travel for work a lot and the options are slim, but this place was a solid find! I got the seafood broil and everything was cooked perfectly. The chefs vegetables were amazing and everything was well flavored. My waitress was so sweet. Great service and great food.

#PartyOfOne

They have maybe the best bread and dipping oil I've ever had in a restaurant. Always great service--and we've been here over ten times. Outdoor seating is great when it's warm.
