I love this place! Long time customer. At both Brownsburg and Plainfield locations AW thumbs their culinary nose at average old buffet served Asian food. Everything here is served fresh and hot. My favorites are the hot and sour soup, and the lo mien. Also the honey chicken is great, fresh and crispy. A couple of things keep it from 5 stars though: 1) The experience sort of falls off when you dine in. Sometimes they get busy and with carry outs on the phone and at the counter and table full inside it's hard to get some attention. Lunch is fine usually not too busy. The trick is - be patient or come early or late.... Or get carry out. 2) Be prepared to eat some of you food off of or out of styrofoam, not ideal but worth it. At first I wrote this place off because I was turned off by styrofoam, but eventually the taste brought me back! Bottom line, great food made fresh!

I have been looking for a new Asian place for the past couple months- and for the time being, I have found it! Happy Dragon on Perry Rd just is not making the cut. This place is awesome! Nice on the inside, nice staff, and yummy food. We got the Vegetarian Tofu with white rice, the firecracker udon noodles with pork, and general tso's beef- ALL were great! We got the small portions and thought it was a good amount, even for dinner. I didn't feel heavy and weighed down after most asian food places. This place has take out, too. I can't wait to go back and try new things! The true test will be how they fare with my go-to dishes: hot n sour soup and lo mien, but for now they get 5 stars.

Delicious, food is always fresh. One of my favorite Asian restaurants. The Mongolian beef and firecracker Udon Noodles are my favorites. I have never heard a complaint on anything. Will be back again.

Plainfield's best kept secret! Tucked in a corner of the Marsh supermarket strip mall sits AMAZING food at Asia Wok! Menu is small and easy to understand, not the 300+ menu items you typically see at a "Chinese" restaurant. Every stir fry I have tried is always delicious! I get shrimp stir-fry and the shrimp are HUGE... no tiny baby shrimp swimming in too much sauce! Their lunch special is the best deal around and includes choice of two sides!! The springroll sides are awesome and freshly prepared. My take-a-way food is always still hot when I get back to work to eat! Service is helpful and friendly! Place is small, yet clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Consistently high quality. Carry out is always still piping hot when I get home. Delicious food with great variety.

I have taken out lunch there twice now and was really surprised at the menu choices, not your typical "Chinese" restaurant. They have some Korean and Thai dishes and others i have not heard of and don't know the origin. The Singapore noodles were delicious, plenty of meat and veggies, and the firecracker udon noodles were one of the best meals I have ever had. Don't expect the old #1 Wok when you got there, it is not a buffet and it is decorated quite tastefully, if not downright upscale, definitely not what you expect in a strip mall.

So, the hubs and I enjoy take-out Chinese at least once a month. Up until a little while ago, we were very loyal to Happy Dragon. While HD is still very good, our new go to is Asia Wok. Everything is incredibly fresh and has great flavor. Veggies are crisp and not over-done. My fav is the garlic friend rice! If you plan on eating in, seating is extremely limited. However, everything looks very clean and is decorated is a warm, inviting way.

I've had this place a few times, and it's very good. Employees are friendly, relaxed and happy vibe inside, and pretty quick with the food. The only things, I didn't agree with are the prices (which are rather pricey for an average Chinese place), and the egg rolls taste like rubber. Other than that, it's a thumbs up restaurant. I do recommend it.

New local gem! Best lunch deal in Plainfield. The owner is friendly, and carryout is pretty fast. We usually get the orange chicken and potstickers.

A friend who lives nearby took me there for lunch. It was quite a delightful surprise. The spring rolls were freshly made and oh so good. I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken, and I agree, it was perfect. A light crisp coating and a not too sugary sweet sauce with very fresh veggies. My friend had the firecracker udon noodles and said they were excellent. We will definitely come back some weekend for lunch or dinner. Decor is pretty enough for a "date night" yet casual enough for everyday lunch.

The tofu in my General Tso's Tofu had the texture of rubber, and not soft rubber either. Nice service, disappointing food.

This is one of those places that I *almost* don't want to tell people about, because I hate the thought of my husband & I not being able to snag a table after a busy work day :-). BUT...this place is too great not to review & I want them to be busy so they don't have to leave town :-). I will start this review off by saying that the owners, workers & staff at this restaurant are outstanding & incredibly friendly. We eat at Asia Wok at least once a month, sometimes more depending on our schedules. We love the freshness of the ingredients, the attention to detail in preparation, and the ability to customize the spice level on dishes (you can even make non-spicy dishes spicy! :-) ). Yes, "American Chinese Food" staples like Lo Mein & General Tso's might have a little spin here, but that is because this place ACTUALLY MAKES their food, instead of relying on the generic, cookie-cutter food supplies. This restaurant also offers a small gluten-free menu for those interested. A few of our favorite menu items include: - Singapore Noodles [extra spicy] - Double pan fried noodles [spicy] - Firecracker Udon noodles [spicy...we apparently like noodles] - Orange Beef - Pan fried dumplings - Ten Ingredient Fried Rice [adding spice] We've tried a lot of things on the menu, and so far have not had a bad meal. I highly recommend Asia Wok in Plainfield.

Ahh! Literally so much mouth watering decisions! Every time I go to Asia Wok my heart just smiles and makes me want to sample everything that they have. They have so many different options and they even have vegetarian choices. When you walk in the environment is a comfortable, and chill environment. It's a nice place to spend time with friends and talk about anything and everything while eating delicious food! It's not expensive and you get what you pay for! I got the Kung Pow with Tofu as well as an egg roll. Usually, when I think of egg rolls I always think they're delicious and amazing and when I get them they are kind of gross. When I decided to try the egg roll from Asia Wok my whole idea of trying egg rolls before changed. I loved it so much. It was amazing and I regret nothing. Everything there is perfect.

I have tried a various dinners here, and it's alway fresh and delicious. Try their homemade sweet and sour sauce too, so good!

Their food was horrible. The lo mein was bland, the General Tso's chicken was weird and watery, also bland. The only good thing was the blueberry cheesecake which was strange to find at a Chinese restaurant.

Just moved to the area and need a good Asian restaurant. Asian Wok covered this well. The food was great! Fresh ingredients. The fried chicken for the Sesame Chicken was very crispy, right out of the fryer and it stood up to the sauce well, not soggy. Service was attentive and good. Dining area is small but clean. I bet take out will be just as good. I will go back many times.

I love this place! Every meal is perfection and delicious! My favorite waitress is the red head. She's fantastic and never messes up the order. I just wish they delivered.

Wow! What a discovery. I stumbled upon this little gem when looking for a menu online for a different place. This isn't your average every day Chinese take out. It's a step up, offering a slightly more upscale menu with super fresh ingredients. Egg Rolls are handmade and really delicious. They are on the smaller side, when comparing them to the big frozen guys from the other take out joints. Plus, they have house made dipping sauces, including the sinus-clearing hot mustard. It. Is. Amazing. Egg Drop Soup is thick and rich. It's very good, but not the best I've had. It needed a little something. You know, whatever it is that take Egg Drop Soup over the edge. Let's say it's a 3 out of 5 stars. 10 Ingredient Fried Rice was delicious, but there was not a lot of protein in the dish. If you're doing this as an entree, I'd have them add more chicken. Sweet & Sour Chicken was DELICIOUS and their sauce is delicious. It's not the day-glo red sauce that you see way too often. Also, the chicken is hand breaded in a light batter. It has a great flavor. Pork with Kim Chi is really good. It's a nice close to home option for when I can't get to the other side of town for my favorite Korean. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu. Overall, it's really very, very good and I'm so glad that I found it!

Food tasted stale, especially the Crab Rangoons... I'm willing to give them another try but my first impression was less than stellar.

Pretty good stuff, we do take-out occasionally. You get a lot of food for not a lot of money. We used to do the Panda Express family pack but realized that we can save money and get more food going to Asia Wok. Having said that, it almost sounds like the food should be a step down, but it isn't! One of the complaints I hear (but one of the things I love about this place) is that even if you call ahead, they do not cook the food until you get there. They understand that freshly made Chinese food is key and they won't be swayed from that. Their version of orange chicken is crunchy, crispy, tangy and delicious! No "yucky parts" in there hidden beneath the batter. We also get the lettuce wraps-- which is something I wasn't excited about (in my head) the first time but I enjoy them now. Kung pao shrimp rounds out our usual order and it is commendable.

Great lunch, with super prices. Service was excellent, too. Well under $20 for 2 entrees, 4 appetizers, and two drinks.

NOTORIETY: N/A FOOD: Hot & sour soup: It was more hot than sour, but I thought it was pretty good w/ its soft tofu. Triple delicacy: The meat in this dish was tender but celery had no business in this dish. Mapo tofu: This dish was a bit too salty for my liking. OVERALL: I give Asia Wok 2 stars b/c I've honestly experienced better. It was a cool ambiance but some of the food was not to my liking, i.e. too salty. RECOMMENDATION: N/A TIP: 1. The waitresses there are attractive. 2. There are coupons available that you can find on the net to print out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
