Service was excellent, clean, not crowded on a Saturday noon-time. Crab cake appetizers were barely warm; probably needed another few minutes in the deep fryer - kind of gooey inside. The grilled salmon was so-so, a little too done. But the waffle fries are what makes the 4 stars - perfect. The salmon burrito filling was excellent, but the chilled (ok, ice-cold) wrap cooled the filling, so that's kind of not good. Slaw was tangy if you like the vinegar - I prefer the creamy. Quick refills, friendly people - will give it one more shot. Menu selections are way more than I expected.
I didn't know about this place till I moved from evansville to newburgh. I have been missing out!! Best fish tacos EVER!!
The first time I visited, it was amazing! Last night though, my date and I were both ill after eating scallops. His were grilled and mine were fried. He was a lot sicker than I was, and this is not acceptable for many reasons. We won't be back here for quite some time. The service is awesome and the atmosphere is fun. I hope this is just a one off thing and I'll try it again eventually but it will be quite a while.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. The food is great and hot, service is quick and good, and the atmosphere is lively and energetic. We have always been seated quickly even at the busiest times. The staff is friendly and you are presented with their signature corn tortilla chips and salsa before your meal - delicious!
My husband and I used to go to the other Mexican restaurant nearby, but this place is far better. It's very clean, and they have great service. Prices are quite reasonable. Food is fresh and tasty. I'm aware that it'seb customized to a more American palate, but I'm not a food snob lol. Really like it here.
Food is very consistent and service is professional. The shrimp tacos and fish tacos are very good. I asked for extra cilantro and they brought an entire dish! Very accomodating.

Great breakfast sandwiches!! They were fresh and while not having a huge selection, they had great combinations and modified one for me. The staff was slammed with customers and were friendly and patient. It's a funky little space with lots of ice cream, too!!
Great ice cream, great people, great service. All around win! Will defiantly be back to fill my sweet tooth fix!
Our family went to the riverfront for a nice walk, with the intentions to finish off with an ice cream. Decided to try this shop, as it looked nice. Apparently, we walked in a few minutes before their closing time (8:30 on a Saturday night). They went ahead and served us, and we paid for our order and sat down to enjoy our treats. There were 5 more people that came in right after we did, and they were turned away. Then we were told to leave because it was after their closing time and that we presented a fire hazard? (None of us smoke). Very offensive. There were two very immature gals running the store. We will not be back.

We had a reservation for the patio, but when we arrived (on time), we were told they had written down the info wrong, and we didn't actually have a table. The hostess scrambled to get a table ready for us, but it was obvious our party on top of the other tables were too much for our server to handle. Our server seemed a bit scatter-brained all night, at one point we were told the soup of the day was Kale soup, but then told it actually had no Kale in it (?), and when the soup arrived at our table it was actually tortilla soup! I ordered the Shepherd's Platter, one of the few vegetarian items available at night, and was a little disappointed by how small it was (and I'm not a bit eater by any means). Perhaps this was just an off-night for the new restaurant, so I may give Cafe Arazu another try.
It's so exciting to see nightlife come to downtown Newburgh! I've been here for lunch twice and once for late night snacks. I love the vegetarian options. Oddly, you can only get the wraps during lunch hours. The dinner menu is a little limited but everything I've tried I've enjoyed. There is a small outdoor dining area in addition to the two small interior rooms and bar. Service is good. Decor is interesting.
If you live in the area and you have not been here your missing out! Wonderful food, and great location right near the river. I've been many times with friends and family everyone raves about it. Owners are local which is hard to find in the Evansville area, most of the town is chains, so support there amazing restaurant.

this place is super yummy. i have many a strange dietary restriction, so i often have to order off the sides menu. their beans and rice are so good. the service is amazing...they were very nice and accomodating.
We have ordered take out from Jalisco 18 or more times since our arrival to Newburgh, IN in 2008 (pay attention to that date). The food is very good, fresh and for the most part, the folks at the counter are very nice. However, today, I ordered "Fajitas for two", which is $15.00 on my take out menu, a side of guacamole and some extra tortillas. When I get to Jalisco, the guy at the counter says its going to be $28.80. So, I just happened to bring my take out menu and pulled it out to look at the price and show him $15.00. He responds to say that the new price of "Fajitas for two" is $20.50 and that my menu is from 2005 (this is why I asked to to pay attention to the date we arrived in Newburgh). So, I ask him for a more current take out menu so that I could have one going forward. Again, he said, there are none due to a renovation. I ask about online pricing, again, there is none. I am sorry to report that we will no longer be ordering from Jalisco. Our business may not mean very much to these folks. As I have said earlier, we have only dined with takeout around 18 times or so in seven years. Certainly not a deal breaker for them. However, where is the consumer protection? To me, all of this is just a shame. The food is really good and folks that prepare the food are really going a great job. Word of caution to all you, ask for the prices if your ordering over the phone.
Delicious Mexican food. Great service. I come here often and enjoy a different dish each time!

Very good food. Definitely Mexican authentic cuisine. I had the carne asada tacos. AWESOME!!! Their margaritas are very good also. Service was perfect! You'll enjoy this place. Very solid restaurant and great atmosphere.
Once again the food was excellent.I loved sitting outside watching the birds on the pond and the male waiters take great care of you...
Best Mexican food place in Evansville so far...the food is more like Spanish food than Mexican food... The Carne Asada tacos are a good staple item, not bad margaritas and decent salsa...worth going when in the mood for Mexican food...

Excellent Texas BBQ! I give it 5 Stars. The TV was so loud that it was difficult to hold a conversation. Employees who have time to watch TV would have time to clean.
It was a disgrace to the Pizza king name and it kills me to even give it the minimum 1 star.
Best strombolis ever! I like to add mushrooms to mine! Service is quick ! Pizza is average but good.

Good beer selection!! They rotate their beers frequently.Beer selections are good to great in my opinion . No health food or healthy dining here! Food favorites are OMG pretzel roll sliders, fried pickles, combo appetizer, wing baskets and chicken tacos. Multiple TVs and game watching options. Servers and service is usually competent and pleasant, sometimes outstanding , but servers seam to rotate as frequently as their beer selections. Kudos to them for providing Newburghians with good beer options!!
I had lunch here today with a friend. It was decent, but not fabulous. She had the spicy cheeseburger ( don't remember the name) with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, bacon etc... I got the club wrap and we both substituted fried pickles for fries. The fried pickles were a bit soggy but overall an ok lunch. I had water, she had tea, and our bill was $27. I am not cheap but that's a lot of $ -for 2 people.
If you want to watch a game, this is the place to do it. We love that it is a family friendly sports bar where we can take the teens to catch some football or basketball. Additionally, they have an extensive beer selection. I always find something unexpected. I recommend the steak nachos. They are a meal by themselves or perfect for sharing with a group.

Turoni’s Pizzery & Brewery

Reviews:
Turoni's is one of those Evansville enigmas that people adore for some odd reason. We just got back from meeting with some friends for dinner at the Newburgh Turnoni's. The service was horrible, my drink was empty for a large portion of the evening, the food was bleh (outer crust of the pizza was rock hard and brittle), and it took FOREVER for them to get the ticket back to us after taking the money. I've been to the location on Main Street and it was okay (3 stars at the most), but Newburgh was horrible. If you were born in this area, then I think that you are genetically programmed to rave about some restaurants that are average at best (see also the Gerst House on Franklin Street). Not trying to offend, but Turoni's just doesn't do it for me. I think pizza chains like Papa Johns and Dominoes are better tasting and a whole lot less expensive. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in Evansville has been at Kipplee's ... awesome pepperoni.
While back in Eville / Newburgh for a few nights this past week, it made me realize that this area of the country really does offer the best pizza on the planet. After living in Chicago for 3 years, and commuting back and forth from Dallas recently, I (as surprising as it may sound) haven't found that great thin crust 'za in either of these cities. Yes, Chicago has great deep dish, that will most likely guarantee heart disease or a portly figure, but they just can't get figure out the art of the thin crust. Now, albeit originally from this area, one might assume that I am biased. I would counter that yes I am from this area, but still believe the Southern Indiana region is the armpit of America, and sans the great pizza, I do not miss this place. So, back to the pizza, and the 5 star review for Turonis... As previously mentioned, there are great pizza joints in this area. With this being said, there are actually pizza shops on just about every corner. Most probably fail...you know, due to an overly saturated market. Who knew? But, Turonis has survived, successfully, for years. Not only do they offer an amazing thin crust pizza, but their sandwiches are some of the best. Strombolis. Ahhh, how I miss these. Why can't you find this type of sandwich in other parts of the country? Last but not least, in addition to the great food, Turonis has an in house, "Brew Master." Yes, They offer great, craft beers, that are reasonably priced (4-5 buckeroos). Good enough service, amazing food, great beer, and reasonable prices will keep me coming back here when I'm back in the 'ville once or twice a year.
Above average pizza, sandwiches are pretty bad, really good microbrew. Little pricey for the quality.
