Good pizza, great service and very tasty calamari. The family loves going there and their home delivery is usually zippy. It's nice having a tasty local pizzeria in the neighborhood.

WHOA?! I thought that I wrote a review for this place already!! Well, I absolutely looooove their pizza and their wings. The pizza is burnt and crisp in terms of crust and just perfect up top. The wings are large with very good sauce on them. Take this as a warning, though, I have had their Chicken Saltimbocca, and I wish that I had just stuck with the pizza. It was absolutely disgusting. It was a bit later in the evening, but man, that was gross. I do not know how this place stays open because I have gone a number of time and they are always empty. I, nonetheless, am happy they are in business as I love their pizza. Support this great place!

this place has housed alot of different places.....so hope they make it here.....Dantes pizza is from the old Zuni's in Highland ( also in Pine Island and Dyer ) and originally House of Pizza in Hammond..... the bar area here is super small and hidden away from the dining room.....so this is more a family type pizza place... the old Zuni's in Highland was a very cool and fun spot....and im glad thier pizza is now closer to me again..... excellent thin crust...almost cracker type.... but still with a good chewiness to it..... the pepperonni cooked on top of the pie..... yah i have had other places hide the pepp UNDER the cheese.....wtf is with that? i want my pepperoni crispy and with the little puddles of grease :-) my fave thin crust is pepperoni and pineapple. though they dont list it on the menu they DO have it and will make it..... Dante's has one of the best thin crust pizzas around...... i havent tried any of thier other dishes yet.....and i really dont want too..... its thier pizza i crave..... they also have a lunch buffet.... but like i said..... for the best thin crust around..... its hard to top this place....i just wish they delivered to my area

Dante's has a pretty nice dining room and bar. They offer a buffet lunch for $8 and some of the food is a little odd (cooked veg, chicken, stew) but the pizza is fresh and hot and the salad is good. There is an assortment of desserts - cake, pies, cookies - kind of like a church pot luck. Dante's has some excellent salads. My friends and I especially enjoyed the walnut pear salad. I have to admit that their pizza is some of the best I've had. They have a full bar and some decent, cheap wines.

Inconsistent in my experience and other than the guy who appears to own it, everyone else seems to pretty much be to cool to care. I have been here about 4 times and 3 out of 4 I had to bring the pizza slice back cause the it was burnt and every time they give me the new one it is under cooked on the bottom and the cheese is bubbling hot...this tells me they keep the ovens too hot. I am over this place.

We had this delivered last night, and I really was into the pizza. The crust was thin, the sauce was amazing, and the toppings were just right. No complaints! The wings are fat. Biggest, meatiest wings I've ever seen. I wish they didn't pack the celery and ranch in the hot box, but I'm not that bothered by it. The ranch was a little runny from the heat, so I just used some of what I had. Now, the only downfall was the delivery driver. Pulled in, and it was pissing rain. We were outside moving cars, etc, and he rolled down his window expect us to walk in the downpour to go collect the pizza, instead of him walking it to the front door, where someone was waiting for him. It was awkward, but whatever. It was still good pizza, so I'm not too bothered by it.

I've been here several times in the last two months, eat in and ordered out. Pizza is just okay, thin crust at times was soggy. Don't like the wings, twice I've gotten them burned, both times carried out. I probably should have checked them before I left. I've only had sandwiches and other dishes delivered to work as a bulk order and really not impressed enough to remeber the names. Today I'm here for the buffet, mac n cheese, walleye pike fried (light, not bad ), salad, cream of potato soup (actually very good. Big pieces of potatoes n you can add bacon, onion and cheese), sausage , cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Desserts are brownies, thawed out mini eclairs, various cookies and brownies and lemon squares. The set up feels like they just decided to have a buffet, crowded not very organized. Many dishes and spoons were dirty(food stuck on them) we had to keep asking for more. The waitresses were friendly and helpful, even the hostess bused the tables. My three kids loved it but they aren't picky about their pizza and they have no problem asking for clean dishes. $8.95 for all you can eat single topping thin crust pizza and whatever plus dessert and drinks I guess isn't too bad?

Sunday, I held my daughters' Bridal shower at Dantes', it was a huge success!!! The manager LeeAnne could not be more helpful. We served a huge array of appetizers, something for everyone, and then a salad bar, and a nice assortment of pizzas'. They made whatever pizzas' you could dream of! I would highly recommend Dantes' for any kind of gathering, Bridal or baby showers, Birthdays, etc... Anytime you want good food, good atmosphere, and you get to leave everything to them!! Great job LeeAnne, and the wait staff, all my guests left very happy, and complimented everything! Also I would like to say their peach and red Sangrias' were great!!!!

I had the southwest chicken wrap and it was delicious. My friend ordered the BLT and also enjoyed it. However, neither of us felt very well afterwards. I think the ranch sauce on my wrap had gone bad - it was making me sick. I won't be going back.

We ordered 4 large pizzas and 60 wings last Sunday for our son's 10th birthday party. We picked the food at from the restaurant and didn't realize until we arrived home that the store forgot to give us the Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing we ordered, for the wings. With a house full of guests ready to eat, we were no doubt at DEFCON 1. I didn't want to leave the house and head back toward the restaurant, only to return to 4 large pizzas that would need to be reheated. As a result, I called Dante's and informed them of the dilemma. The young lady who answered the phone put me on hold so she could find out how long it might take for a delivery driver to bring the dressing to my house. When she came back on the line she told me that she told me that it would be approximately 20 to 30 minutes, door to door. I informed her that 20 minutes was far to much time to make my guest to have to wait to crack into the wings. The hostess put me on hold and got me the manager, LeeAnne. LeeAnne told told me that she would personally deliver the dressing to my home. 10 minutes later, LeeAnne was at my door with the dressing. Listen up people, THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thanks again LeeAnne, you saved the day.

We were visiting relatives back home this past week and my mother in law put together a shindig here for the family so as to alleviate 800 stops throughout Northwest Indiana and Chicago. We had the back room and quite a large spread. Numerous different pizzas, Caesar salad, regular salad, cheese quesadillas, fried green beans, chicken wings, fried zucchini- the works. I'm not familiar with their menu, but it looked as though we had every appetizer they made. I've recently gone meatless, and never realized till doing so the lack of options for us herbivores. Sure they had a veggie pizza, which was decent- and they had salad, but the salad was the size of a dinner plate for 20 people. It was mostly gone by the time I got up there and everything else was fried. I realize this could be based upon what was ordered and no fault of Dante's, but everything was pretty generic. I couldn't tell a difference between their fried green beans and the ones found in Target's freezer section. I'm going to assume with a name like "House of Pizza" that pizza is their forte. It was good, but you come to expect a level of fabulousness from Chicago pizza. And yes, in this case NW Indiana does count as Chicago pizza. You wouldn't realize it until you moved to another state, however.
