I used to like this restaurant the food was good and the price was not too bad. Last time I went and ordered my usual sushi meal I was very surprised to find they had bumped the prices up on some meals.

This is my very favorite sushi place in the state! I have yet to have something here that I did not like. The sushi cake roll is my favorite with quite a few close seconds. The service has always been great for me and the staff is very nice. I would and do recommend this place to anyone!

Hands down. Best Japanese Steakhouse and sushi in the area! This place is a rare find but worth the trip. Also, the staff are simply amazing!! They will take good care of you and always have a smile on their face. Place is extremely clean and doesn't smell like a fish market when you walk in! Love it!

Prices are okay for the amount of food you get. The restaurant's decor is pretty cheesy, but the service was descent. I generally just call in to-go orders. BTW, it's in the back of a parking lot, I was doubting my GPS the first time I went there. Keep your head up and you'll find it!

Of all the sushi places I've tried around the country, this is by far the most delightfully tacky (to borrow a phrase from Hooters). There is a freakin' koi pond with a water wheel right smack in the middle of the place. Glittery fake flower arrangements, Christmas lights... you name a gaudy Dollar Tree decoration, A1 has it covered. I think knowing the building used to be a country line-dancing saloon-themed night club makes it even better. That fact is still kind of obvious from the outside (and the inside too, a bit). The sushi was very good and moderately priced. I have no idea what the names of the rolls we got were, but the tuna nigiri was excellent if you're into that sort of thing. The presentation was outstanding. The tempura cheesecake was just so-so. Really, my only complaint - and it's not really a reflection of anything the staff did purposely - was that the service was ridiculously slow. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but there were two servers for the entire restaurant. These girls were working as hard as they could to make everyone happy, but it still took two hours from the time we were seated until the time we paid and left. For a long time, there was only one sushi chef, although another one joined him later. I'd definitely go back, but maybe at a less busy time.

Great service, atmosphere and food. We got the $49.99 boat with 7 different rolls, came with salad and miso soup.

A-1 is the Best place for high quality fresh sushi. The service is professional and friendly. They treat you like family. Many different rolls to choose from. All of the sushi is wonderful, along with anything from the grill. As they get to know you, and your likes and dislikes they will make custom rolls or appetizers for you. When in season try the live scallops sashimi, to die for. Their goal is to offer the very best quality sushi and service to every customer.

I love sushi, so much so I even love not so great sushi but I just could not get on board with this place. Sure the decor is cool, the live fish swimming in the small pond in the restaurant is a nice touch but the food was pretty bad and it was pricey for how terrible it was. So maybe try something else.

We visit often because it is reliably good. We enjoy the soup, avocado salad, various vegetarian rolls, tempura vegetables, edamame, yakisoba, sake, and fried Oreos. The ginger dressing is our all time favorite from any Japanese restaurant!

This place is a bit put of the way if you're downtown but the sushi is spot on 100% of the time! My brother and I are regulars here and the food/presentation never disappoints! While you are here don't forget to try the green dragon, happy girl, and spicy lover:)

Pretty average sushi. Next time I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Narita in Plainfield.

We had dinner here based on the reviews we read on Yelp. It was fabulous! The waitress was very attentive. I had the Spicy Lover, based on another reviewers recommendation. It was so good! We went in on a Saturday evening around 6:00. It was not busy. We live close to this restaurant and will definitely be going back!

Excellent sushi place if you enjoy quantity & quality. I had the regular menu and the sushi both was to die for. The customer service and the atmosphere were both awesome . I would recommend to..

Delicious, flavorful, and dynamic. The service was good, friendly, and quick. We ordered three maki rolls. The spicy girl was great rendition with punch of flavor. The sushi is worth it. The mochi was a great after dinner dessert. I wasn't thrilled about the veg. Gyoza but it seemed fresh:)

Has to be some of the best sushi around. Try the crazy rabbit. You will love it. Very friendly staff with a wonderful atmosphere.

we were a little hesitant to go in at first due to no cars in the parking lot at 7:15 on a Saturday night. however, I am so glad we went in! everything was presented beautifully and tasted even better! cannot wait to go back as it's some of the best sushi I have had. someone at our table also got one of their Japanese steak meals and was raving about that dish as well!

A1 is a hidden gem in Mooresville. The sushi is top-notch and the staff is very friendly, delivering fantastic service. I really like the decor inside and the koi pond is a hit with the kids. We have dined there a few times and it has never been crowded. I have mixed feelings about that because it means "no wait" which is important when you have young children. However, I hope they can get solid traffic in order to keep the food-quality up. The place is off the beaten path, tucked next to Mooresville Movies which probably accounts for the small crowds. Let's hope some solid word-of-mouth can keep the patrons coming back to this wonderful place for years to come.
