This is our favorite Ricker's. It's always bright and the staff are friendly. Things just run smoothly here. And... They have "chewy ice". My car likes the fuel here, too. Surely it shouldn't matter, right? But I always get better mileage when I fill up here.

Make the trip... this place is terrific. Great food, great ambience, wonderful owner. The portions are HUGE and the taste is authentic. I've been to Louisiana and I also have an affinity for making this type of cuisine at home, it's good stuff! I could go on and on about the half gumbo/half jambalaya I couldn't quite finish ( it was so filling) but just make the drive. You will be so happy you did. We were sorry we just couldn't find room to try a dessert. It's a rare day when I can't finish a meal at a restaurant. One serious piece of advice, call ahead for a table. We did and got seated before the four people that were standing there when we arrived. The room is small and the area to wait for a table is even smaller. You can sit at the bar, as well. It was packed. I would turn their four top tables into two 2 tops so you could seat more diners. It might speed things up. That is my only quibble. It's a pretty small glitch. Make the trip.. call ahead though
Very good, the complimentary bread they give you was the best bread I've ever had. I had the half gumbo and jambalaya. It was great! I also ordered a side of red beans and rice, it was good but I still like the red beans and rice from Popeyes the best. This is the best place for Louisiana food in the Central Indiana area.
My hubby and I love cajun food so we are always willing to try Nawlins style food. Not sure why it took us so long to hear about Zydeco's, but I am THRILLED that we have discovered this place. We've been 3 times now and have had wonderful food and great experiences each time. AMBIENCE- The ambiance is lively and tries to mimic a Bourbon Street feel. They do a great job for being in a small Indiana town. The decor is bursting with all the things you imagine a cajun place should look and feel like. If you go early, you will enjoy a laid back service. If you go during peak dinner hours or slightly later, then you will enjoy a noisy & more rowdy atmosphere. The locals are friendly and on our first visit, we were offered some gator by a regular sitting behind us. He just grabbed a plate and scooped some up for us to try! The place is friendly and vibrant to say the least. SERVICE- I've read some bad things about the service here on Yelp and I have to say, I'm a bit perplexed. We have always found the service to be great. However, I will say that our main server can be gone from the table longer than expected- BUT, any employee walking around and checking for refills can help you. You don't have to ask just your server for help, they are all available. So waive over anyone you see in a Zydeco's shirt and they are more than willing to get you a refill of bread or drinks. (OMG the French bread! drool...) I saw our server at several tables outside of what would be considered a normal section. He was all over the place. So please be patient. After all, this is little New Orleans in Indiana- enjoy the laissez faire mentality and kick back. Also, I have to say, our server this last time was so outgoing and friendly. He made us feel right at home and talked to us about where we drove from, etc. I mean, the kid was as friendly and helpful as he could be. He was great. MENU- You can read their full menu online at their website and prepare for the ultimate Pavlovian response, because you will start drooling. They have things I didn't expect to see like Gator, Tasso (cajun spicy ham) and tons of menu items with Crawfish. They've got shrimp, catfish, white beans and rice ( a delicious take on red beans and rice) several po boys, etouffee, jambalaya, the list goes on. FOOD- In a word, Amazing. Every time we have been overjoyed with what we have ordered. Everything tastes like it's made fresh with fresh ingredients. Another Yelper said something about 'canned sauces'- ummmm, no. You can not can the flavor and the vibrancy that the food has. The food just sings. On our most recent trip, we ordered the Tails and Tasso appetizer. WOW. You get so much for the price (I believe it was $8) A cup full of tails and a cup full of tasso- just grab a spoon and dig in. We put a little of each on plates and mixed them together. The Tasso is perfectly spicy and salty- it compliments the tails perfectly. Grab a piece of the fresh (and unlimited) French bread and you are on your way down Bourbon Street. Entrees- my hubby ordered the Black Cat smothered in tails (blackened fresh catfish served with jambalaya and covered in crawfish tails) and I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee ( served with a nice lump of white rice in the middle) The portions are huge. But don't worry, I was able to fit in some dessert, just for my fellow Yelpers ;oD The Black Cat was so tasty and the fish was fresh! It just flaked apart and was buttery. The only small letdown was the lack of punch I expected. I thought it would be a little bit spicier than it was. But I think the Tasso was so spicy that everything else paled in comparison. My Crawfish Etouffee was splendid. I added a dash of salt and was good to go. The roux had a nice consistency and wasn't too thick or too soupy, it was just right. Their were tails everywhere- no skimping here! And the portion... OMG- Huge! See the picture I uploaded. And finally, dessert. We shared the Bourbon Pecan Pie and oh, it just took me back to being in Texas. The pie was the perfect ratio of filling to pecan (I hate it when they skimp on pecans!) But Zydeco's overloads their pie with pecans and it was wonderful. The crust was flavorful. It was just a perfect way to end the meal. Even if you think you don't have room, make room for the Bourbon Pecan Pie. It's superb. OVERALL- We have driven from Muncie to Mooresville 3 times in the past few months- that has to say something about how much we love Zydeco's. We love the food and the atmosphere. Here is a tip, on Friday and Saturday nights you should make a reservation because this place gets packed. Avoid waiting with a rumbling tummy and call ahead. Also, if you partake of the alcohol, make sure you bring a designated driver. Because the GIANT specialty drinks might knock you on your ass. Actually, you might need a designated driver because of the food coma you will be in after leaving!

Gray Brothers Cafeteria

Reviews:
This place is worth the drive and the experience of trying it out! They have a wide variety of salads (greens, fruit, pasta), main dishes, side dishes, desserts, and breads. Everything looks delicious and the price is about right! Unlike other sit-down a la carte cafeterias, GBC has plenty of FLAVOR. I really enjoy how roomy this cafeteria is. They have many choices in seating areas. The layout is great and designed well. They care about their company and recently renovated during July of 2014 to make updated improvements! I am a fan of fish options at cafeteria places, and I enjoyed the fish at Gray's. The macaroni and cheese is edible, too. I really enjoyed the chocolate cake, the most!
We stopped for lunch on our way down to Bloomington. This is classic Midwest style cafeteria style with stick to your ribs comfort food. We arrived around noon on a cold Saturday and there was not much of a line. I had roast beef, mashed potatoes and corn with a slice of chocolate cream pie. The roast beef was fine but not much flavor. The corn and potatoes were fine but nothing special. The portion size was plenty for what we paid. The chocolate cream pie was excellent was was the peanut butter pie my SO had. It is cafeteria style so I did not have much service expectations, however they did not do much to refill our waters and we had to tack down someone to get to go containers. It appears regulars and large parties get most the attention.
If you love cakes, pies, desserts in general, and fried/heavy food, you'll provably love this place just like most people that review it. But if you want a healthy lunch, and don't care for desserts, like me, it can be difficult. Once a year I eat here with my colleagues for a team building dinner. This year, I actually managed to discover a hidden treasure that suits my desires: the baked fish. This visit it was tilapia. Panko and parmesan (I think) coated and then oven baked. Two huge filets along with a side (I think it was actually an entree) salad made a perfectly filling lunch. If you want something healthy, just go somewhere else. But if you have to eat here you can make it work. Or if you are into the above mentioned food, this is your place. At roughly $10-12 for a massive tray if food, you won't leave hungry. One last tip, if you arrive right when they open for lunch you will wait outside in line. Keep that in mind in the winter. Once inside, the line moves quickly.

I would never guess this is an old KFC. The inside is well decorated and the bathroom is really clean. We didn't sample much -- ice waters and a cheese pizza. The pie came out perfectly cooked with a really good tangy tomato sauce. The service was friendly. Our server did not come by very often, but came over every time I signaled her. The staff is young and learning. Dinner for two with leftover was less than $15. Can't beat it.
It says Famous Pizza on the sign, but the menu is full of other Italian dishes. This is a rather small space but would seat about 50 in booths and some tables. It has the ambiance of a mom-and-pop store, even though there are other locations. Our server, Morgan, was attentive and, if he didn't have an answer, he checked. The rest of the staff was very friendly. I had the Spaghetti Marinara, although I had asked for linguini. It was tasty and is made in-house each day. Also had Minestrone which was good, however it was not the traditional mix of vegetables, meaning no beans and was brothy. Good also. My wife had the Fettuccini Alfredo which she thought was very good and they were able to prepare it without garlic, which almost no other restaurant can do. She also had a house salad, which was pretty basic. We asked for butter but were delivered an other-than-butter whipped something in a little carton. Not good. The oil and bread, however, were very good. The first two types of wine we asked for were not available, so we had to make a third choice. Good wine bottle prices at $20.95. We wanted to cork the bottle and take it with us but were told they don't have the proper license for that. All-in-all, it was just okay and I can't say we would return.
I visited here recently with friends. We dined in. I definitely agree with another posted who commented on the fact that the building used to be a KFC... It's unbelievably clean and nice inside. Food was pretty good. I got the lasagna, which came with a tasty Caesar side salad. The red sauce was good, but maybe a bit too acidic. The service was friendly and attentive, though our waiter seemed a bit frazzled at times. Younger teenager. No big deal. Drinks were refilled quickly. Prices were reasonable. Overall a positive dining experience. :)

I was invisible the last time i went to this place the owner needs fo get his shit together and wrangle his staff
I used to like this restaurant the food was good and the price was not too bad. Last time I went and ordered my usual sushi meal I was very surprised to find they had bumped the prices up on some meals.
This is my very favorite sushi place in the state! I have yet to have something here that I did not like. The sushi cake roll is my favorite with quite a few close seconds. The service has always been great for me and the staff is very nice. I would and do recommend this place to anyone!

Of all the sushi places I've tried around the country, this is by far the most delightfully tacky (to borrow a phrase from Hooters). There is a freakin' koi pond with a water wheel right smack in the middle of the place. Glittery fake flower arrangements, Christmas lights... you name a gaudy Dollar Tree decoration, A1 has it covered. I think knowing the building used to be a country line-dancing saloon-themed night club makes it even better. That fact is still kind of obvious from the outside (and the inside too, a bit). The sushi was very good and moderately priced. I have no idea what the names of the rolls we got were, but the tuna nigiri was excellent if you're into that sort of thing. The presentation was outstanding. The tempura cheesecake was just so-so. Really, my only complaint - and it's not really a reflection of anything the staff did purposely - was that the service was ridiculously slow. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but there were two servers for the entire restaurant. These girls were working as hard as they could to make everyone happy, but it still took two hours from the time we were seated until the time we paid and left. For a long time, there was only one sushi chef, although another one joined him later. I'd definitely go back, but maybe at a less busy time.
Great service, atmosphere and food. We got the $49.99 boat with 7 different rolls, came with salad and miso soup.
A-1 is the Best place for high quality fresh sushi. The service is professional and friendly. They treat you like family. Many different rolls to choose from. All of the sushi is wonderful, along with anything from the grill. As they get to know you, and your likes and dislikes they will make custom rolls or appetizers for you. When in season try the live scallops sashimi, to die for. Their goal is to offer the very best quality sushi and service to every customer.

Pros: Great food and great service! The menu was huge with all kinds of great selections. There was a big white board in the lobby with the daily specials. There were so many to choose from and they all sounded delicious. I went with the Kentucky Benedict, poached eggs and sausage gravy. Very good. My wife went with the blueberry pancakes and they were out of this world. Cons: After a short wait, we were seated. While our server was quick to get coffee and drinks, and take our order, it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Others were waiting too. We were there at a busy time, and I'll give a pass on slow service this time because of the food quality and friendly staff, but if this was a normal food delivery time, I probably wouldn't give it a 3rd chance. Also I wish they had the daily specials printed on a table menu. I couldn't remember all the great choices I had to choose from.
Why have I never stopped here before! I drive past it at least once a week. Plenty of parking and right off the highway. The dining room is large with tables or booths. It's very clean and the waitresses were awesome. Very good customer service. They have a large menu, but we decided to order off the breakfast special board. The coconut almond french toast sounded good to me and my husband picked the Hawaii 5-0 omelet. We also had coffee. My pancakes were to die for! I didn't even put syrup on them. It was six pieces and I could only eat three. I took the rest to go. My husbands omelet was huge. It was made with ham pineapple and cheese. He loved it. He had a choice of home fries, grits or fresh fruit, he chose fruit and it was a good choice! Also the toast looked like it was home made. Great choice for breakfast.
Sunday morning 10:30 9/20:. I ordered what I always order. The egg was not prepared correctly. I returned it. Ever 3 minutes for 25 minutes the waitress told me they were working on my eggs. By now, I presumed somebody back there must have there hand half way up the chicken trying to yank out 2 eggs. I saw a lot of follow-up customers around me getting their eggs. Finally my French toast was beyond cold. My bacon had coagulated into a hunk of grease. That is when I returned my breakfast. I received a flippant "sorry about that" as my food was withdrawn by a "has been" fast food order taker. When I paid, I was asked if my meal was okay? To which, I filled the cashier's ear with information. She said, "she she was sorry to hear about that." It was the most honest thing she could say since she didn't want to hear any more about it. She was obviously disappointed in herself for asking. I paid, and it was as if Penn and Teller had walked into the room. She disappeared into sudden non-existence. There was no effort to rectify the situation, compensate the situation, or escalate the issue. It is a waiter/waitress's responsibility to understand what you order and to be sure they are delivering the order the way you requested it. A real waiter/waitress doesn't just deliver what is given to them without verifying correctness and hope it hits the mark like fast food order takers (actually they don't hope for anything}. This is the result of low expectations, poor hiring practices, and non-existent training.

What a find, I doubt I will ever be by here again but I am very glad we stopped. I had the award winning pork cutlet sandwich, it was big tender and tasty. Fries were good too but I was getting full after the fried biscuits with apple butter. They were yummy like apple orchard donuts, but you could feel the amount of grease in them. Overall I was happy to have this life experience . Our waitress was sweet & funny and added to the overall charm.
Best Q in Indiana, never had better ribs. The brisket is always the downfall of wannabe Q masters. They nail it - gimme the hot sauce Ok, we came back a week later with son and daughter in law. Everyone ordered a different dish. They both agreed Brisket and Pulled pork were the best they tasted in 15 years. And who can stop eating the biscuits?

Roscoe’s Tacos

Reviews:
My mouth is so happy!!! I am torn between a three and four star review, but I am rounding up because I really love this local chain. Food - 3.5 stars Service - 4 stars Ambiance - 3 stars Cleanliness - 5 stars Price - 5 stars I am a huge fan of this chain. The "chili" style meat is fantastic. It is ground beef is a mild but well spiced taco sauce. The taco shells are never stale, and the hard shell tacos come in 4" and 7" (although why anyone would get a 4" taco is beyond me!). The price is right! I got the large sampler with large chili, chicken, and shredded beef tacos, a big ole vat of refried beans, and a 32 ounce drink. Eight bucks. That's right -- Taco Bell prices. But you get SO...MUCH...MORE. The tacos come loaded with cheese, sour cream, lettuce, onion, tomato, and olives. I skipped all the healthy crap and just had sour cream and cheese. They were overflowing! They put so much meat and toppings on their tacos, I probably had enough to spread out over another taco shell. The chili meat is the way to go. The shredded beef was tasty but a bit dry. Not a problem after you load it up with taco sauce though. The chicken was very dry and completely tasteless. It was the only thing I didn't like. The refried beans are good and come topped with a boatload of shredded cheddar. They have five levels of hot sauce and I am pleased to say the top two were quite spicy (ask for them at the counter). They have a slightly sweet completely heatless sauce for you taco wimps out there, and two middle of the road sauced with great flavor and lingering warmth. The entire place, including the restrooms, is spotless. I know they just started, but I have seen other placed completely destroyed soon after the doors opened. This place looks like it will stay in good shape. It is sparse, but there is plently of seating and a nice little private room that holds 18 people and can be used for overflow restaurant seating. A few minor tweaks and I think this could be a five star place. My tips to the owners, if you're listening: - I'm not a big earth hippie, but please stop killing the planet with all the Styrofoam! Food is served in Styrofoam to go containers even when diners are eating in. Surely it would be cheaper (and more environmentally kinder) to serve on paper plates or something. Same goes for the Styrofoam cups. - Put the two hottest sauces on the sauce bar with the rest, or put a note out that the hot ones are behind the counter. It was a fluke that we asked for them. I bet most people do not know to ask. - Add some of the chili meat spice to the shredded chicken. I know the chicken is healthier, but it was sadly flavorless. - No more tips. Keep everything else exactly the same. I cannot wait to come back and sample some more chili taco goodness!!!
Great alternative to Taco Bell, food fills u up, if u need taco fix nice place to stop in
Great atmosphere, good customer service and the tacos were really good. Their sauces were tasty too. Very satisfied with my experience.
