Great place!!!! Wife and I had lunch here after biking turkey run state park. Good home made food at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for.

Came on a Sunday afternoon after camping at Turkey Run and found they were doing a buffet. All of the food was really, really good, and the service was good too. The only downside was that the corner they're on is somewhat confusing and it's not entirely obvious where to park if it's busy. We ended up parking in a lot across the street.

Directions were bad to this place, only found a couple horse and buggies and a junk yard dog in the middle of the street, was interested in the place but due to bad gps from yelp never made it

Amazing good food, delightful atmosphere, a little bit long to wait for the food to be cooked, but overall excellent!

Fine family dining! Be sure to try the liver & onions...if that appeals to you. So is the Tortilla Soup is to die for.

Wonderful little hometown restaurant! Good service, great food. For a small place they have a really good salad bar and good lunch specials. The Friday night Catfish all-you-can-eat buffet is OUTSTANDING. We have eaten here several times for lunch and dinner this past summer and it is great. Just be sure you go early, they close at 8PM during the week and 9PM on weekends.

Only negative was speed of service. Had a "$10 burger" (aren't they all anymore at most restaurants?) for $6.95 which included crinkle cut fries. 1/3 pound, cooked perfectly but wasn't exceptional, I didn't OMG like I've done with burgers eaten at some restaurants. Everybody knows everybody there (except me!). Clean, nice large napkins. Didn't use the restroom so no comment there. Came from Turkey Run SP on a cold, gray January day, the police were blocking Marshall street for some reason, the cop had to be laughing as I turned off on a county road to detour in my 2 wheel drive. Monster potholes all over dirt/mud roads. I was even chased by a dog (Cujo?) at one point. Was really afraid of getting stuck/slide off. 10 mph was top speed. On my return to Turkey Run SP the road block was gone - but a very old hearse came by from the other direction, the guy driving it had a weird hat on and was smiling. hmmm.

Two of us came to Under the Arch, due to the reviews, and were not disappointed. It was a 7 minute drive from Turkey Run State Park. As a rule, I dislike buffets, but on a Saturday Night, theirs looked very fresh and had some nice touches. This is three steps above your Richard's or Big Boy salad bar, They also had delicious broasted chicken and broasted fries, homemade beef and noodles, and delicious cobblers. The staff was very attentive. I was so good, we went back Sunday and were again very pleased. Mugsy P

I like it. When it comes to small town homey diners, you can't beat Under the Arch. We went there on a local exploration and I have to take my hat off to my husband (and fellow Yelper) for finding such cute, relatively undiscovered places like this. The town of Marshall has an arch (of course) that shows you that you've arrived in said town. The diner is right there on the town square and has a nice cozy Indiana feel, in the best possible way. One wall of the main dining room is full of shelves of knicknacks and gadgets, the best of which was a little toy Coke vending machine that actually played the sound of a soda rolling out of the machine when you pushed the appropriate button. Really cool. We ate in the second dining room (it was a very busy day for the restaurant) and it was cozy and nice in our booth. We happened to be there on a community card playing day, and honestly I felt like I was in the set of a movie about small town America, with retired folks at the next table playing cards and betting chips and chatting away over coffee and a slice of pie. I ordered a burger and one of my companions had the fried chicken. The food was delicious and in keeping with the feel of the place. Service was friendly and prompt. All in all, this was a very nice meal. For a great Indiana diner experience, you must check out Under the Arch.

Headed over here after a long day at turkey run. The restaurant was pretty empty (it was about 3:30pm). Our waitress was nice and seemed very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place if you were just hiking!

To Hannah Michelle H., Maybe you should stay in the city where you belong. You should have gotten out of your canoes and went to Turkey Run Inn for a great meal!!! LOL!!! I have been, and know dozens and dozens of people that go to Under The Arch on a regular basis, and have never been disappointed. The wait staff is impeccable, the food is delicious, and everyone is ridiculously friendly. Also, there is always music playing, so I don't even think you know what restaurant you went to. I'm positive you are just seeking attention. Maybe you weren't loved as a child... I don't know, but to use such foul language and have such a derogatory way of speaking is one way to insure that no one in their right mind is ever going to listen to you. So, I say congratulations... You have done nothing but make a complete fool of yourself. All the while boosting the attention of a good, clean, family-run restaurant. I wish you luck in your sad, sad life...

This is by far the worst meal I've ever eaten. I hope to god nothing is ever on this shithole's level. We stopped by after canoeing at turkey run. We read a lot of positive reviews on yelp and we figured a restaurant in a small town would have some people who could at least cook. It was shit from the second we stepped into the door. As soon as you walk in, everyone turns to stare you down and it feels like the restaurant secretly serves human meat and you're the dinner special. All of the knickknacks on the walls are dusty and grimy. It doesn't even smell like food because they don't season anything. Almost every table was full, but literally no one was speaking and there was no music so we felt awkward and unwelcome. We had to wait a long time for service which was reasonable because they were busy but the servers were just standing around texting. Our waitress was also condescending and rude. This restaurant was so bad, even the diet coke I got tasted off. I didn't want to say anything because there was no other noise and my waitress was a bitch from the get go but it tasted like bleach and lake water. Thankfully, my companion and I decided to split an entree because we were going out somewhere decent to eat for dinner. We got the fried mushrooms for our appetizer and we got country fried steak for our entree. We asked ourselves how badly those could be messed up. We were in for an unpleasant surprise. After waiting about 45 minutes we got our fried mushrooms. They weren't whole mushrooms or even caps but sliced mushrooms from a can with no seasoning on them and no sauce. They were squishy and swimming in oil and had no taste besides old cooking grease. Our country fried steak came out about 30 minutes later. The gravy wasn't homemade and the steak itself had no seasoning and was also swimming in grease. If you're a restaurant in the middle of the country, you should be able to make white gravy. It's literally 3 ingredients. Our bill came and we paid about double what a shitty meal like that should cost. We tipped our rude waitress and left as soon as possible because it was disgusting and awkward. We literally regretted not going to Taco Bell because at least you know you're getting shit, you don't read a bunch of positive reviews online. tl;dr go to Taco Bell instead this place is an abomination

My wife and I shared a patty melt and their hand battered onion rings which were, without doubt, the BEST we have ever eaten. Bar none, hands-down fabulous rings. This place is not gourmet dining. Just good honest home cookin'. The staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is warm and clean and the price is right. We'd go back just for the ORs.
