I've only been once, but I really liked the chipotle shrimp. It automatically came with flour tortillas, so I guess you have to specifically request corn tortillas if you want those instead of flour (my waitress didn't ask). One weird thing that keeps bugging me: I went to Casa Brava a few days later, and both places seem to have the same menu. Down to the descriptions of the items (e.g., "on the lighter side, try our three grilled fish tacos..." when describing the Tacos Tulum). Thinking maybe they are sister restaurants, I asked the waitress at Casa Brava if they were related to any other restaurants in town, and she said no. I don't know if the recipes are the same, but I find it unsettling that two unrelated restaurants in the same town are using the same menu.

Excellent Tex-Mex food, especially for central Indiana! Wonderful chips and salsa as well as the cheese dip! Everything we've ordered off of the menu is delicious as well. The staff is extremely courteous and attentive, and even when the restaurant is very busy the service never fails. Highly recommended!

I can't comment much on anything besides the Arroz con pollo because that's all I get...it's so good! The chips and salsa are great too. It's comparable to Casa Brava, but I think it has a better setup because it is sectioned off and not one big room like Casa.

I love La Charreada Mexican Restaurant. Eight times out of 10 we received great food and service. The only critiques I have is that sometimes the restrooms are not attended to and the language barrier can be a hindrance but their food is great.

Voted Grant County's Greatest: Mexican Restaurant by Chronicle-Tribune 5 years in a row!!! Love this place. The service staff is incredible, the food is delicious, and the prices are INSANELY reasonable. The servers are very friendly and we love giving them BIG TIPS because the food is so cheap! My husband and I will eat lunch there for $15 TOTAL! Easily the best chips and salsa in town (on par with Casa Brava which is their sister location in S. Marion). I love the super tasty authentic Mexican cuisine. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend. You simply MUST try it :)

Great Mexican food, good service, and good atmosphere. Big selection, Huge, and plenty Ogden vegetarian options. Beer/wine available. Come here whenever I'm in town visiting family.

Decent Mexican, decent atmosphere. I give it one star for one big reason... NO ALCOHOL. What's a Mexican joint with no tequila or cerveza?! Not one I want to frequent.

Really good nachos and a big portion too. The service was kind of slow last time I was there but the waiter was very nice...

It was a Thursday and I was hungry for some Mexican food. The Yelp reviews looked favorable so we went for it. It did not start good. We were seated next to the restrooms even though there were other tables open. I made a comment about it and the hostess asked if we would like to be seated elsewhere. We chose to stay there. (never again.) The chips and salsa were good. The waitress not very attentive. We made the mistake of telling her we needed a few minutes to look at the menu. The manager had to track her down for us so we could order. I had the Carne Asada tacos. The steak was very dry and chewy. My friend had #29 consisting of a Mexican salad, taco, and enchilada. The ground beef in all 3 was dry and not very tasty. The worst part of the experience was the air conditioning was set to the meat locker setting. We had to leave before we were finished due to how cold it was where we were sitting. And once again the manager had to track down our waitress to get the check. The restaurant has nice atmosphere and I loved the ceramic lizards on the wall, but never again by the restrooms.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
