Lets start with the positives. The food was fine. Most of it was seasoned well and everything was cooked properly. They could improve the ribs and i hope you like your mashed potatos buttery. Service was great. Our waitress was on it and everyone was very polite. Truly the only thing that ruined the meal was the bathrooms. Lets just say they were very nasty and seeing how the offending mess was dried and all over the floor, it had been this way for hours. My father-in-law said it was like that his last visit and he was not ever coming back.

Traveling over memorial weekend and found Stolls on yelp. Great reviews, lake front, Amish restaurant in Amish land, and really not many options in loogootee. I'm not in general a fan of buffets but I was starving!!! We walked in and the views of the lake are stunning from every seat. The restaurant itself is rather worn out, old chairs, carpet, people :/ The usual buffet items, small salad bar, fried chicken which was quite good, chicken noodles, green beans, corn ect...The desserts were the star for sure, all homemade and fresh but in an odd little room separate from main buffet, weird. All in all fresh food for a buffet and did I mention the views?! Would come back for cocktails on the lake but alas Amish country, no booze on this buffet.

My husband and I went on a Monday afternoon. The food tasted great. Even my toddler ate the fried chicken, and she doesn't like chicken! The waitress was very attentive and gave great service. The pies were amazing. However, the food on the buffet was room temperature at best and my husband and I were both not feeling well later in the day. If the buffet food was hot I would have given it 5 stars. Maybe it was a bad time or day. Would definitely be willing to give it a second chance. When we were there they were in the process of draining and restocking the lake and the view was still good!

So good, I came here twice in one week. The chicken is excellent as well as the rotating buffet entree. A real value, what further surprised me was how the fresh, baked-on-premise pies were included, spectacular. There is no way you'll leave hungry. The staff couldn't be friendlier.

We found this place after asking some locals where a good place to stop for lunch would be on our way back from a business meeting. Boy am I glad we listened to them. A smorgasbord of food, it was evident that everything was fresh and homemade and more importantly, delicious. And then, after you make your way through creamy mashed potatoes, spinach, buttery corn, and perfectly seasoned baked chicken and fresh rolls, there is the dessert bar. Pies, cakes, pudding, cobbler; I had no idea how we were going to fare on the drive home after that sugar coma. Luckily my colleagues and I made it back, and are now planning our return client visit. At least we know where to do lunch and dinner now.

Beautiful sight right on the lake. Not so beautiful sight inside, as the restaurant is rather pale and boring. Most people go here for their buffet, which is usually pretty good. I've been there on some terrible days, but those are rare. Overall, a pretty good experience.

We had dinner here tonight and it was pretty good. They had Fried and baked chicken, hamburger steak, dumplings, some sort of baked fish and then they had several vegetables and a salad bar. They also offered several desserts. I thought everything tasted pretty good. Things that I did not care for so much was the fact they sit on a beautiful lake but have the blinds closed so you can't see anything because the sun is too bright. Well that restaurant is not much to look at so the only thing they had going for them was the view and they had that blocked off. The other comment I have is they are very nice and friendly as long as you are the cookie cutter conservative right wing religious norm, otherwise they are cordial but not overly friendly towards you.

Can't believe there are already two reviews for this place! What are you people doing in Loogootee, Indiana! I was born in these parts so I have an excuse. Whenever we came up to visit my Aunt Mary,we always came out to the Amish Restaurant. Over the years, the consistently delicious home cooked foods never lost any quality. The dining room has a great view of a 620 acre lake. I brought Mister up to see the house his Dad lived in when he was a toddler and to see where his Great-Grandpa's farm was located(about 1/2 mile up the road from Stolls).Mister never met a buffet he didnt like, and he liked this one.He even tried the chicken livers and went back for seconds. I double-dog dare anyone to try and settle for one of their homemade desserts. Whenever I see bread pudding out,I have to get some to compare to my mother's bread pudding.Stoll's is ,oh so close, but not quite.I also had to get a slice of coconut cream pie but was required to share with Mister after he finished his cherry pie ala mode.He had gotten seconds on the livers so I had to go back to try the blackberry cobbler! If only I had room to make it ala mode. The service is very friendly, even if we weren't regulars or locals, and there are always plenty of them at the tables. Our server was smiling and talking with us even while cleaning up Mister's lemonade mishap. I'm thinking up my next excuse to head to Loogootee just to have another buffet lunch. And I know just the guy to invite to head that way with me.

Wow, what a terrific setting right on the lake. There's not much to the restaurant itself, decor-wise, but the view is fantastic and so is the food. It's a buffet, and as everyone has said, fresh and delicious. Lengthy salad bar with lettuces, chicken salad, broccoli salad, sour cream cucumbers. Delicious homemade bread, soup. And fried chicken, meat loaf (only so-so), mashed potatoes, green beans, fried zucchini. macaroni and cheese. Then a ton of fresh-made desserts -- lot of pies and cobblers. There is also a lunch and dinner menu which can be ordered from, but it looked like everyone was enjoying the buffet. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive in their crisp uniforms.
