We stopped here for lunch after a trip to Marengo Cave. There are 6 of us & we were seated at a table. The waitress was friendly & the service was good. I think they were having some sort of drainage problem in the men's restroom because the smell as we walked in was not good & my son said the bathroom was gross. The ladies' room was clean & smelled nice. We had the following meals: 1 pancake with bacon, 2 bacon cheeseburgers with fries, 1 double cheeseburger with fries, 1 kids hamburger meal, 1 one grilled chicken salad. All the food was great. I had the bacon cheeseburger & it was one of the best I've had. We got plenty of fries with our burgers. Unfortunately, they did not have enough chocolate cake for all of us made & we did not have time to wait for them to make more. I would definitely go back if I was in the area again & would recommend it to others. Don't be put off by the decor--it is an old restaurant & looks it.

I usually love diners that are within a close proximity to a truck-stop. They always have good, down home cooking and friendly waitresses that remind you of your grandma. This was kind of an exception. I've had friends pestering me to stop at this restaurant for months now to try the "broasted chicken". I was warned not to try anything else on the menu because "in Leavenworth, you must eat the chicken". And eat the chicken, I did. I have to admit that when it said "broasted", I was expecting roasted chicken and what I received was your typical fried chicken. Like the kind you'd find at KFC, just with better breading and less flavor. Because I chose a dinner plate, I got to choose three sides. I chose the loaded baked potato, green beans and mashed potatoes and brown gravy. All three were good, albeit needing salt and pepper. I also got my choice of a roll or cornbread. My husband really didn't enjoy his spaghetti dinner. His spaghetti sauce came right out of a can and was so watery that it resembled more of a marinara sauce than spaghetti sauce. The meatballs were not "homemade" but were frozen and then thawed and you could definitely taste the difference. His meal also came with a salad that had brown lettuce and soggy tomatoes. All in all, he left dissatisfied. The service we received was great. Our waitress was friendly and was always on top of what we needed. The place was clean, smelled nice and gives you the option of a booth or a table, which was nice. I'd like to come back and give them one more chance to wow me AND try a piece of their blackberry cobbler!

Good breakfasts. Homestyle cooking. Excellent change of pace from fast food. I had eggs and corned beef hash with hashbrowns. Hubby had fish and chips with homefries instead of french fries. They close early...like 9pm. We would eat here again.

Average. Sort of overpriced with the limited menu. Neither great nor awful just nothing compelling about this place to make one want to come back. Situated basically next to the Pilot truck stop @ I 64 at Leavenworth Indiana. I guess it's okay for something in the middle of nowhere. Had their famous dessert of the blackberry cobbler. Unfortunately it was blueberry so they can't tell the difference.

Roast beef Manhattan is excellent. This place looks very clean. The silver wear is very clean. People working here are very pleasant.

This is located just off I-64 near the small town of Leavenworth. The name pretty much says it all. It is nothing more than a nice little restaurant that serves up country style cooking and recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. I have eaten here often during the years while passing through and have yet to have a bad meal. When you walk in there are several seating options to choose from. On the right is a dining area with tables and chairs mainly used for families. On the left (which is more of a diner setting) you have the choice of sitting either in a booth or at the counter. The food is very good and the portions are very good for the prices. Most dinners come as an entree with three sides. They also have a nice selection of homemade desserts such as blackberry cobbler and hummingbird cake. Most of the clientele are either locals or truck drivers as this is right next door to a Pilot Travel Center where drivers normally park their rigs before coming in for a meal. But everyone here is very friendly and the service has always been outstanding. My only complaint is that this place is only open from 7am to 9pm. I wish they could open just an hour or two earlier for breakfast.
