My boyfriend and I were on this side of town to go to Maru Studio and instead of just eating at Bando next door we chose this Mexican joint thinkin it would be quicker. Our server was really the downside to this meal. I ordered a margarita right away and there was no sight of it for twenty minutes. I was going to skip the margarita because it takes me a while to drink a 27oz glass of frozen alcoholic liquid without dying from brain freeze. My boyfriend mentioned the drink and it was brought to our table several minutes before the meal. (We felt like it took longer than usual to receive our food... About 30 minutes from when we sat down.) I ordered a chicken cilantro burrito that had a really yummy cilantro cream sauce smothering it. The rice was a bit dry and nothing to write home about. The only good thing about our experience was the food. However, it's definitely not the best Mexican I have ever had. I would say it's standard fair for a joint like this. Not bad, not great... just good.

Frozen Margarita was melted after 10 minutes. Their house favorite quesadilla (mushroom, chicken and cheese) was mostly cheese and not a very good cheese. Guacamole was runny (gross). Cheese dip was standard and was good. Spent $25 for lunch and a mediocre lunch at best. Save some money and bring your own margarita to Taco Bell.

Great Food, Large Portions. Priced Fairly. Service was helpful with the menu. From out of town but would return again.

Definitely only going to go for the lunch buffet from here on out. I've been to dinner twice now and very disappointed both times. Each time I went and had the same problem, cold food. The outside was hot, but the inside of my enchilada and chile relleno was cold. Also, the queso dip was so cold it was practically solid. The manager did apologize and remove it from my bill, but it seems like a consistent thing for cold food. The lunch buffet is good though. I won't be back for dinner.

Absolutely my favorite Mexican place in the city! It's locally owned and the employees get to know you and treat you like family. The Cilantro Burrito is stuffed full and covered with a house made cilantro cream sauce that keeps you wanting more. Everything is fresh and never sits under a broiler for long. Food comes out quickly too.

Went again recently. The buffet was much better than my previous trip, even though this time I went for a very late lunch. Just about everything in the steam trays was still pretty fresh. Not all items on the buffet were fully seasoned, so be prepared to add sauce/salsa after your first test-taste. Very clean men's room, very clean dining area. Staff speaks English well. They bring your check to the table. Lots of employees from nearby businesses do lunch here. I'll have to order off the menu next time to be sure, but it's looking like this could be a 5 star place, "as good as it gets" for what it's trying to be.

I've eaten here 3x's. The 1st I had a coupon, bogo entree's. The 2nd I had a coupon and was able to feed 3 for under $10 with the bogo entree combo selection and we all got 2 items a piece. The 3rd and final was because I was soo hungry that day riding past and there was a buffet sign out front so I decided to try one more time because maybe I just ordered the wrong things on previous visits. Nope, it's not me it's them. Their food is the typical mexican dishes you get around indy with the bland rice & refried beans as sides. Their food is way too salty for me and just blah. There wasn't much of a selection for me (not really their fault) 'cause I don't eat chicken nor pork. I would be mad if I ever had to pay full price for anything here.

Cold chips, cold plates under Luke warm food, and service lacking. Would have asked it to be heated had the waitress checked back on us before we were done. We did tell her that it tasted good but was cold. She smiled and said sorry. Yes, I am sorry her attitude will lighten the tip amount.

This place is so good! The meals taste great, the prices are great and the entire atmosphere is great! Did I say great enough? I have had the same waitress each time I've been, and she was very helpful at picking out items from the menu and what certain items are. The menu is huge, as are most Mexican restaurants. The chips are very good and the salsa is really hot! I like it that way. Every item on the menu is flavorful. I usually throw an a la carte item in as well, because I have a big appetite. This still leaves my meal at around $12 not including drink. That is very satisfying! I will be a regular at this Chile Verde from now on.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
