They should have paid me to eat this food. I waited 45 min to get everything at once - appetizers, salad, entrees. Everything, even the salad somehow, had more sodium than a salt lick. I mean how did they even make pasta noodles that salty? The chicken in it clearly came from some prepackaged frozen thing. I could have and should have made better at home.

The breaded pork tenderloin is very tender and tasty. I understand they cut and pound their pork on site. What a difference it makes vs frozen breaded pork tenderloin at other places. I've had the catfish and the Ruben and they were so good, the catfish was pretty much outstanding. You can't eat the decor..but if you are a person that needs nice decor to feel like the food is good then you'll be surprised by this place, when you close your eyes and taste the food. I'd definitely come for the food but it is a bar with a small and unassuming dining area. So this isn't a first date place if you are trying to impress, but if you want to show that you know where good food is, then do bring your date.

Took 30 minutes to receive our appetizers after ordering and an hour to receive our main course. Food is overpriced for what you get. service is lacking and slow. We had the T-bone steak and grilled salmon, you are much better off going to cracker barrels for better food, service and value. They do serve very good buffalo boneless wings. I would not recommend anyone come here for just food.

Went with some friends that had been there before. They recommend it because it good the last time they were there. Sorry to say it wasn't that good. Our drinks came out one at a time over the course of an hour. The waitress had way to many tables to keep up. The bartender had the bar and his own tables. After an hour and a half we got our food. It was good and hot or we might have been so hungry it didn't matter. The owner came by only after we asked. He explained they were very short staffed and only had two cooks. That would have been nice to know before we were sat. When guest come in their expectations is that they will receive food and service in a timely manner. They don't care about what goes on internally. My advice for the future would be to be proactive and let the guest know what is going on when they come in the door. That way if they choose to stay they aren't dissspointed.

Don't waste your time or money. My friend and I went for dinner on a weekday. It smelled of spilled beer. The food was meh. We ordered two mixed drinks and only tasted water and lemon, no alcohol. The food was below that of your average chain like chili's. We felt like we were in the song hotel California because the staff was so slow in getting us any boxes or our check to leave. Definitely skip this dump.

Dishonest place! Charged me for premium drinks and claimed that was their "well" drink! Waitress even admitted that she just hits premium drink charge button and manager wouldn't change check.

The manager here is a d**k. POINT BLANK. I've eaten in here plenty of times for different events and I always order the same thing, chicken strips with buffalo sauce. They always brought it out with the sauce on the side. One day i ordered delivery and they tossed the strips in the sauce, which i hate, bc they're soggy and disgusting. So every time after that, I said naked strips with sauce on the side. and they delivered t correctly up until 2nite. This time, for whatever moronic reason, naked means "nasty fake grilled chicken breasts" instead of fried chicken strips WITHOUT SAUCE. When I called the manager to explain, he acted like I was stupid and kept saying, "....but that's not what you ordered". Like mf, do you not know how to run a restaurant? There's no universal definition of 'naked strips' and if there was, your po dunk bar in the middle of country indiana is NOT the god of what naked strips mean. I'm telling you that's not what I wanted, your flip floppy employees all make dishes different way, just shut your mouth and fix it if you want my business. I ended up getting a refund from Hungry Boiler and I'm DONE with this place. Stay away unless you want crappy service and crappy food from rude mfs. Instead, try DT Kirby's. They don't take 30,0000 years to get you their food and they actually care about getting people what they ACTUALLY ordered.

Normally I would have given the restaurant a 5 star rating but when we went in there it felt like the bartender was also being the only waiter as well. He did the best he could but the service was a little slow. The food is good here as always and it is worth a few blocks walk for the lack of parking. I will say that unless you are starving do not order the full order of the chicken Parmesan as it is a huge order. Very nice decor and a great place to just go eat and relax with family and friends.

What a waste of time!!!!! My two friends from out of town went with me to Spurlock's for lunch March 14th. The place was having some kind of early mid day St Patricks day thing with around 20 partiers who mostly stood in the isles and milled around. There were three table each with a couple who had been served food. No one achknowleged us when we arrived and no one seated us, we found a table but after 10 minutes of watching the few staff wander in and out amound the partiers ,who wre obviously thier friends or regulars, no one came to take our order. I went to find a waitres but she was too busy chatting with the Green folks to speak to me and the bar tender acted as if I wasen't even there. After 25 minutes of just talking and waiting, my friends asked if we could go somewhere that they actually served food. We left. I will never go inside that place again!!!! WHo knew that isf you weren't waering green you became invisable.

This is a much overlooked local pub with EXCELLENT food and great service. Ryan knows his stuff, all! My spouse, who does not drink alcohol and is generally averse to bars, really loves this place. He has been made to feel totally comfortable and he loves the food. I love the atmosphere, the great staff, the generous drinks, and of course, the food. Hurrah for Lafayette...we have a gem here!

My husband ordered wings in the house sauce & I got a Frisco. I stole one of his wings and, well, then I wished I had ordered the wings. They had a decent beer selection, although it seemed they were out of a lot if things. We will be back again and this time I will definitely be ordering the wings. They were so good!

Wings! Wings! Wings! There's nothing better than large 49 cent wings on a Sunday afternoon. Boneless for 59. You mix a few beers in there and you have yourself a great start to a lazy Sunday. Try the Asians! Try the honey mustard! Try the habanero peach! Buy them in batches of four, eight, and sixteen. Get blue cheese or ranch. I was completely impressed with a satisfying wing meal for under $5. We had a large group and the bar was completely accommodating and the service was fantastic for there only being one server. They have pretty reasonable deals on drinks--$3 pints of tap Rolling Rock, giant mugs of draft beer, and bloody marys all around. The bar has a really nice atmosphere and is a nice location in downtown Lafayette to relax, eat some good food, and have conversation with your friends.

This was ridiculous. I've been to Spurlock's before, and for some reason, I came back. We walked in through the restaurant entrance and were told we could sit anywhere in the restaurant. We chose to sit in the pub, up by the bar. Though there were two servers and a bartender, we weren't acknowledged for about 10 minutes. Then we were given menus and our drink orders were taken--we decided water would be a wise choice at this point. Fifteen minutes later, although the servers and bartender were all milling about, we still had not been asked for our orders or checked on in any way. We decided to give our server (the bartender) one more chance. He came out, looked right at our table, checked on another, and went back into the kitchen. We left without paying anything, or even getting a chance to order, and found dinner elsewhere.

Ordered takeout a few times recently. The triple burger and waffle fries are really good. Had an issue with the chicken tender basket that is really making me consider not ordering from them again. A lot of grease and parts that were not edible.

We stopped in Spurlocks on June 4 2011 on our way home from Indianapolis to wait out a very strong storm going through the area. It's a nice little bar with a neighborhood feel to it. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. We'd stop again.

Okay I have been to this place for 10+ times. To tell you the truth you have to know what to order from their menu. Some are great but some are nasty. Their deep fried breaded food is good, e.g. breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is phenomenal I like their waffle fries as well. Half-pound burger is pretty good too. Okay here is the warning: DON'T order the Alfredo pasta!!! It's much worse than the one-dollar frozen pasta in my freezer.

I'm just not a fan of Spurlock's. The food isn't that good, or at least what I've tried has been pretty mediocre. There's not much of a vibe there either. It's not a bad place, just not for me I think.

Spurlocks is a great little restaurant bar in/around the old downtown Lafayette area. The decor is great with old dark wood walls and large mirrors behind the bar giving it a dark, classy feel. The happy hour was great. Cheap appetizers made for a meal with variety and cheap domestic beers helped wash it all down. Although its across the river from Chauncey hill I would make the trip down again whenever I get a chance.

For whatever reason, this is my favorite bar in Lafayette. Maybe it's cause the place is never packed, or because of the cheap bigguns. Maybe it's cause Corey is the best bartender in town and is always friendly and knows exactly when to ask you if you want another beer. He even tells you to have a seat and personally brings you your drink from behind the bar if he's not too busy. Food is typical pre-frozened pub fair. Entrees are so-so. Prices are reasonable, but they do have good monthly and weekly specials. Place always has a nice laid-back ambiance with chill people and good games on the TV. I also like how they sometimes turn on the closed captioning on the TVs. Oh, and you can use restaurant.com gift certificates for alcohol purchases. SCORE!

Cool, little hole in the wall type pub. Pretty decent music, and an okay selection of beers on draft, but I know there was Goose Island Honkers Ale and Bass (as well as Bud light and a few more.) Not too expensive, and have 32oz pints-- delicious! Not somewhere I would go a lot, but could be a really good time.
