This is for the Hammond, Indiana location on Indianapolis Blvd Huge burger...1 large order of fries is good enough for two, the burgers are not greasy, the staff is great, the inside is awesome with a Wurlitzer Jukebox and 50's style booth jukebox at a .25 cents a play. The prices are not too expensive and the service is great...multiple visits and every time a pleasant experience..you will be stuffed after a burger and fries.. Try the milkshakes! This 50's themed restaurant is great..love it

Never went to this place before. But I was craving for a cheeseburger on the "National Burger Day". Schoops was in the walkable distance, so dropped in to get one and munch on it! They were closing in 30 minutes when I reached there and they were not dining in. Instead, they were just taking orders for take-out. They had paper menus and I quickly went through it and ordered the bacon double cheeseburger with fries. The staff were very friendly and funny. The cost of the burger was little higher than the other fast food places. It was around $12. I got my order within 5 minutes and I took the package left home and opened it up to see one damnn huge burger. I wasn't expecting to have such a gigantic burger! It was monstrous! I took half and hour to finish the burger. It was scrumptious. The beef was very well cooked and juicy. I loved it. The bacon was crispy and needless to say, their combination is mind-blowing! I loved it and I recommend this place! - peace

This is what a simple burger should be! Great bun, not overly greasy and accompanied by straight forward fries done well. Took me a year to finally stop in at one and I'm glad I did! I forgot to add that the server Tanya was top notch. Really attentive and helpful to this first timer.

This is not about the food. This is about the service. The food is exactly what we expected it to be. However, we came in about twenty minutes before they closed just stopping for a quick bite. The lady who served us told us that they closed at nine after we sat down and we acknowledged her and didn't plan to be there much longer than that. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and the lady reiterated that I'm lucky but she was just about to clean the machine out because "WE CLOSE AT NINE." We asked politely for more ketchup and water and she made a big fuss again because they're about to close and already emptied the ketchup containers out, etc. etc. We quickly ordered and got our food fairly fast as well. This lady reminded us AGAIN that they closed in twenty minutes. If that had been it, I would've been annoyed but not thought about it any longer. We all want to get home after a long day at work. However, this lady continued to complain purposefully loudly to her coworker about how we were there still. (Also a few others were still sitting eating.) Both my boyfriend and I work service industry jobs and we know how it feels to want to leave, but never to the point where you are so rude to a customers face that you leave them disgusted! If anything, grab a burger to go and eat it in your car. Better than dealing with the worse service I've ever experienced

The burgers here are ABSOLUTELY delicious. Just the right amount of fat and taste. They definitely cook to order and do not miss ANYTHING to ensure you are satisfied. The only place in Chicago that is on par with them is Top Notch in Oak Lawn. I plan to go back there the next time I am back home.

The hamburger isn't a big thing. I have tried double cheeseburger, and I don't like too much. It is not bad and not good, but for 9 dollars have best places.

Me and my husband always get good service at this Schoops -- it's probably because we're regulars! The food has always been very good -- our burgers always come with the lacy edges that Schoops is known for. We now usually order our burgers without the buns since we try to eat gluten-free, and they're very accommodating. Of course, then we order the cheesesticks or onion rings and that doesn't help our gluten-free lifestyle, but they taste so good! The ONLY thing I can complain about is the prices. For just two people, you're looking at the same amount of money as you would pay for being served at a restaurant with more food choices (such as Applebee's). Then again, Schoop's burgers are fantastic so it's never been much of a problem for us when we're in the mood for good burgers.

Not the best but did a good job. Hamburger was good but fries lacked a little taste.

I was put off a bit by the $5+ price for a burger and half fries but once you see the burger all bad thoughts are out the door. A very large burger done on a flat-top with nice crispy edges, very tasty. The fries are nothing special but still done to order and are crispy. Worth the stop. Upon repeated stops this has one of the better burgers that you can get, just delicious.

Burger heaven, fry purgatory. I'd go to Schoop's again, no question. The burgers are just really good. Great size, great taste. The fries leave something to be desired. Boring, basic. If you're like me, you'd rather have a double burger than mediocre fries. This is a good place to do that.

THIS IS THE BEST BURGER IN THE WORLD! Remember when you were younger and you wanted a hamburger, what did you do? If you were anything like my family, you made yourself a homemade burger. The ground beef was REAL ground beef. Of course you had to add cheese. Maybe some lettuce. (now you could tell mom you ate a salad, lol) Some tomatoes, maybe some grilled onions, pickles and whatever else you could fester.(and it was DAMN good too!) If you want one of those "old skool" burgers thats fat and juicy, go to Schoops. I've been to the one on Torrence Ave and the one on Indy Blvd. I've never encountered a problem with them and the staff has always been friendly. If you haven't tried them, I definately would recommend them. Try the shakes too. Don't get too hooked on them though, they're a calorie buster.

Not all Schoops are the same, this one is one of the BEST in the Region. Ask for your fries well done, its the best way. I love the "crispy edges" on the burgers. Good shakes, place is always clean. Love it!!

I just stopped there on a whim and let me tell you that the burger was great. Greasy in a good way, fresh lettuce and raw onion. No need to harp on about a great burger made with someone who made tons. Also glad to see that some health nut hasn't complained about the calories because this burger is within my top 20, lower top 20. The best is still Burger Priest in Toronto.

I'm sort of partial to the Whiting location, but this one has the same great food and the same great service.

It's dangerous living only a few blocks away from this location. I try not to eat there TOO often, however currently being 8 months pregnant, you can imagine how this is always not possible. What can I say? I first experienced Schoop's in Chicago Heights. I was excited when purchasing my house that there was one so close. I have always been impressed and never received a bad burger or fries. The service is always great whether I'm dining in or grabbing it to go. The Green River Milkshake is amazing, and I take it up a notch by making it a malt. If you haven't tried this option, I highly recommend it. The chicken sandwich is equally as good, as well as their veggie burger! I was quite surprised when I tried the Veggie option, but every time I have ordered it, the patty was moist and delicious. Kudo's, burger gods! All in all, as long as I live here I will enjoy my Schoop's. When it's time to move, you better believe I will make sure a Schoop's is around. Keep up the great work, guys! :D
