It really IS in a strange location--kind of behind the Beefcake place, in what appears at first glance to be a vacant lot; after we spotted it we had to circle around to get into the parking area. The food we had wasn't out of this world, but overall, it was very tasty. The mozzarella sticks seemed to be the standard frozen kind, but the marinara served with them was extremely good and garlicky. The pasta Alfredo with chicken was non-gloppy, and the chicken grilled but not cooked to shoe leather, which was a nice touch, and sometimes hard to manage in a restaurant setting. I'd definitely like to come back to try some of their other menu items.

A great restaurant in Greencastle. A little hard to find but worth it. Also a different menu than most of the other places in town. It has the normal steaks and stuff but great pasta and Italian food. if you're looking for a different place to eat make sure you give it a try

I've been eating here since I was 8 years old. It's a little dive restaurant nestled in the heart of Greencastle; not to be passed up if you're from out of town or just passing through. Décor in the restaurant is dated, but that doesn't take away from the deliciousness of the food. I highly recommend the manicotti, taco salad and hot ham & cheese. Their apps (cheese sticks, onion rings, fried mushroom and more) are good, too. If you have room for dessert you must try the spumoni ice cream. Yum-O! The menu is huge, so everyone in your party should be able to find something to eat. Despite the failing businesses in Greencastle (restaurants included), this restaurant has persevered and trucked on through the down economy.

The best Garlic Cheeseburger in town. Homemade salad dressings too! The Nuniboliz (sp?) is a one of kind a kind masterpiece. Pasta dishes, yum!

Cute hole in the wall local place. I've had breakfast and lunch here. The food isn't great. But it's cheap. I ordered strawberries for my pancakes and they were canned and were rotten. I lost my appetite. I try to support locally owned businesses. But this one needs some help.

We loved the Tiger Fries, the Manicotti, and the Pizza. The service is friendly (if a bit deliberate) and the owner is very welcoming. Eat here!

I stopped in Mama Nunz on my way up 231 and had a great meal. I had the Italian Beef Tips and Pasta and they had a good taste to them. Mr Nunzio was very friendly and a great host. I'm definitely going to stop in for some ribs or pizza on my next trip on 231.

THIS is the place to get a garlic cheeseburger in Greencastle. Pizzas were great too. Owner was very personable and spent a lot of time with us. Definitely a place we want to stop at again when coming through.

Found this little gem on Yelp when we were in Greencastle for a woman's basketball game. The owner took the time to really understand the modifications to my meal that I needed. Even brought me a taste of the special garlic sauce. The garlic chicken was very good. Hubby had pizza which he said was great. After our meal the owner came by our table to tell us about other items on the menu including his BBQ. Again he gave us a taste of the sauce. I'd definitely go back.

Another must try restaurant in Greencastle. This place has a very casual feel and the owner always makes everyone feel right at home. I've yet to have dinner there without having a conversation with the owner. The food is good (would recommend the calzones). All around, a must try if in the area.

This the BEST restaurant in Greencastle!! The owner is so supportive of DePauw and the food is delicious. I recently had the calzone and I would definitely get it again! This is a great locally owned business and the owner really cares about the town. I can't wait to go back!!!

We were looking for lunch and both absolutely dreaded the thought of fast food. I'd remembered this place from way back in my high school days- and thought we would check it out. The location is a bit unfortunate, and the building is pretty dated, but we gave it a shot so I could take a walk down memory lane... Boy(!), were we glad we did! We had a fantastic lunch! I had a garlic cheeseburger and my fiance had the brisket sandwich. Marvin's in Greencastle is famous for their garlic cheeseburgers- and I just don't get it. Mama Nunzs {seriously} puts theirs to shame! They had so many options on their menu, it was difficult picking something-----but we both picked winnners, and were extremely pleased with our experience! The service was good. The owner came out and chatted with us a bit, and we enjoyed the conversation. The recent road changes, other failed surrounding businesses, and slowed economy has started to take its toll on this business, and he could absolutely use some more support. If you are in the area- GIVE THIS PLACE A SHOT! You will be pleasantly surprised. I know I was! We plan to go back for dinner sometime this week!

We went on a Sunday for dinner. The waitress was nice, but not very good. She seemed very scattered. She kept making up excuses for her mistakes. Also, we were the only ones in the restaurant when we got there and they were very slow. The food overall was pretty good. They were out of their waffle fries. They were out of almost all of the steaks, so we tried their BBQ and pasta dishes, which were excellent. The chocolate cake was ok, but the pineapple cake was amazing. We'd give it 3.5 stars. It could easily be 4 if the service was better.

Great place for a casual dining experience. Very friendly owner & staff. Treat you as though they have known you for a long time. Food is great & very reasonably priced.

I'm shocked that this place hasn't been reviewed. Not being from around here, my wife just HAD to bring me here. I was highly impressed and have returned several times. Service has always been great to excellent. The owner always comes out to see how everything is, and even kept the place open once and insisted we stay to eat when we got there a little too late (we got mixed up on the time zone difference from home). Baked spaghetti is my favorite dish but they have other good menu items as well. They are a bit hidden back off the highway but its certainly worth paying them a visit if you are passing through. They don't look like much but the whole cliche of not judging a book by its cover certainly comes into play here.

Super good food and very friendly, attentive wait staff. I come into town a couple of times a year on business, and always make it a point to stop in to mama nuns. Try mama nuns famous garlic cheese burger or the ribs. They are fantastic. Decor is very random and dated. Don't let the hand painted signs and strange location turn you off to giving it a try. It really is a great place. Mama nunz is locally owned and could use your support. More than likely the owner will come out and visit with you for a minute or two.

We came here with the family after we got married at the courthouse. It was pretty delicious and we have been back since. They have really good pasta dishes that make two meals, so either bring an appetite or be prepared to take home a box of food.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
