The place was friendly, maybe too friendly. The staff seemed to want to interject into my conversation often. The place was very loud, and the staff was constantly yelling. The prices were good, and food was OK. I would go back but sit in the corner away from the staff.

Great little place for breakfast and lunch. It's a hidden little jewel that is located in a nondiscript strip mall off Bittersweet and just short of Hwy 23. It's tucked away in the corner two doors down from Bruno's Pizza and not that easy to spot from the road. But your search will be rewarded handsomely. It's a classic diner format with an eclectic menu of Americana as well as some tasty Chinese dishes. The breakfast menu is a classic mix found most at places with some local fare thrown in. Compared with some of the other Granger eateries, the food is very good and the price is very reasonable (I hesitate to say "cheap" for its negative connotations, but lets just say it's downright inexpensive). You won't be wowed by the ambiance, but the quality of the food for the price will bring you back.

Nothing is perfect so to say. The food my mom and I had was the best breakfast we had in a while. It's like momma home cooking. I would recommend my friends to come here. They are nice and have a great tasting food. ITS PRETTY HOPPING FOR SUCH A SMALL PLACE!!!

Best kept secret in Michiana. Nondescript place, but great food with large portions for reasonable prices.y boyfriend would eat here daily if he could. His favorites are General Tso's and Sesame chicken. I've had beef lo mein, potstickers, crab ragoon, shrimp lo mein, shrimp fried rice, lemon chicken, and mandarin pan fried noodles (Can you tell we eat here a lot?!) All were delish. I like to sub the cantonese fried noodles for rice when I get a meal. We always get take out and it is quick and still hot when it gets here. Staff are friendly and funny. I can't say enough good things about Valley!

What a great find! Staying at a local KOA and being totally unfamiliar with the area, we asked the park manager for a suggestion for breakfast. He immediately suggested the Valley restaurant and gave us directions. This was a Sunday morning so we expected it to be busy and it was! We lucked out with the one empty booth in the place. Within 2 minutes we had hot coffee and ice water in front of us delivered by an absolutely delightful young lady named Yip. She explained the days specials to us and then gave us a few minutes. The menu is full of choices with a very reasonable price range. We placed our order and then sat back to enjoy the ambiance. Other reviewers have mentioned that the place is too loud. On this morning, it certainly wasn't quiet, but what we heard was mostly laughter and good natured story telling as groups of people enjoyed good food and time spent together. It was a pleasure to relax and let that sense of goodwill wash over and around us. If you want a very quiet, serene setting for a meal, then no, this is probably not a place you'd choose. But if you enjoy laughter, you're in the right place. Our breakfasts were delicious. Nothing exceptional, but good basic fare done very well and lots of it. The potatoes that I had with my eggs were lovely and well-cooked with nicely browned edges which always give home fries that extra special taste. The only thing that we had that we did not like (and thankfully we had it served on the side) was the gravy! Other reviewers have mentioned that the gravy was so good, so even though neither Rick nor I usually enjoy the white, sausage gravy, we thought we'd try it. There was no redeeming quality at all about it. It was thick, floury-tasting, lumpy white and pasty. I wouldn't recommend it unless you like eating paste and obviously a lot of people do as we saw many people eating their breakfasts covered in it. We couldn't discern any taste of sausage in it or any taste period! Other than that, our meal was great. If you're looking for a great place to go for breakfast, this is a super choice. They also have a Chinese food menu for later in the day that looks fabulous! BTW, our server, Yip, was amazing - so friendly and attentive. She really made us feel welcome and even though she was really, really busy, she didn't make us feel rushed if we had a question or request. Good job, Kip! If we're ever back this way, we will eat here again!

Excellent little find in South Bend. Among all the chains and over crowded local spots, this gem shines. We were in town for a few days and our friends introduced us to Valley after a night of drinking. Let's just start by saying that these are the best crab rangoons I've ever had and I live 20 minutes from San Francisco's China town. They are large, crispy, creamy treats served with a warm sweet and sour sauce. Simply perfect. The rest of the table dabbled in some chicken fried steak, eggs and bacon and I had the ham and cheese croissant. Valley Restaurant is extremely affordable, comfortable and tasty. We'll be sure to make a stop the next time we're back in SB.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
