For a small little Mediterranean place, this is a great place to eat! The flavor and value beat the larger restaurants. I would recommend this to anyone! Super awesome fantastic! Oh yeah and they have great ice cream, malts, and floats too.

Yep, it was a pretty good gyro, but I agree with a previous reviewer, would have been even better if I ate it right when it was served up rather than waiting for my sweet hubby to deliver it. The pita bread was a bit crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. A good serving of meat and veggies. Maybe it would have been a good idea to get the tzakziki on the side considering the 15 minute travel time from their kitchen to mine, but all things considered it was still yummy (and a bit messy). We are new to the area and were struggling to come up with a quick, easy Friday night meal that wasn't pizza. AJ's Gyros filled the bill and hit the spot. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. What a great little find in an unexpected location.

First off, this place has the best food. It's fabulous. The gyros are stunning. My husband and I have eaten her many times and have enjoyed it each time. Tonight we ordered our regular...a beef and lamb gyro with feta. I should have known something was up when we got to the window to have it slammed in our faces while the owner/proprietor screamed at her staff. Unprofessional, but hey, people have bad nights. When our food was ready, it came out with olives on it, which we didn't order. My husband literally thought it was someone else's food. While we looked at it, the owner flashed the order slip in front of us, saying we had ordered it. We said otherwise, and she asked if we could just pick off the olives. By this point, her voice had become very agitated. We said that wasn't what we ordered, and would like it as we had ordered, at which point she again flashed the ticket. I explained that she wrote it down incorrectly, and was met with, "didn't you wonder why it was so expensive?" She grabbed the trays and threw them on the counter, grumbling about the waste. At this point, I asked for my money back. As much as I love their food, I can't handle being insulted. I got it back without question, which makes me wonder how often this happens. This is definitely not a place where the customer is always right. By the time I got in my car, I was shaking. This woman completely stole my joy today. Being so close to louisville, there are definitely other places to get a gyro. I enjoyed AJ's because of how tasty it is - and it is fantastic, don't get me wrong. I, however, like to be treated humanely when I get food. Don't come here looking for someone who is customer-oriented. I'm going to miss eating here, but there are better places who will treat you better, and that's where my dining dollars will be.

Nothing hits the spot on a hot summer day like this modest joint. I grew up down the street, and I can tell you this place has seen many years of name and image modifications. Yet, one facet of this gem still remains - the good food. And yummy yummy dessert selections. Ice creams, frozen yogurt, shakes, malts, shaved ice, sundaes, iced coffees - you name it, they've got it. And with more variety than you can shake a stick at. Be sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed.

First the food is AWESOME!!! BETTER THAN BERRY TWIST AND POLLY FREEZE HANDS DOWN THE BEST, #1, UNO. When you see AJ'S PLACE, it reminds you of one of those cute lil ice cream shops in your hometown. The have soft serve that is perfect and these NEW flavors called Flavor Bursts with like raspberry, cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and pina colada. Then there are the hamburgers, dressed to your desire, with the best homemade fries. Their Gyros, WOW & WOW, 1st Wow because they are delicious and authentic, 2nd WOW they make one I am not kidding as Big as your Head practically. Then they have other orders like fish and chicken baskets. But their ice cream will give you a diabetic coma no matter what you have from their chocolate covered cones (*waffle cones & regular sugar cones), Sundaes...all sorts of flavors, banana splits, and lots more. I have two favorite stories of the customer service 1) this year right off the bat we called them 1 night we were on are way their to find out if they were still open at 08:50 pm ten minutes before they close to pick up so late night supper on the way home. Well, my husband calls and he ask,"how late they are open", and then Allison, one of the owners was working, "she ask why what cha need?" My husband advices her, "well we need two of your Gigantic Gyro Combination meals and two regular Gyro Combinations...oh and some Pita Bread and Yummas (sp?)." Allison ask, "how far away we are". My husband tells her "we were on our way probably 10 minutes away" and GUESS WHAT ALLISON SAYS? You will not believe it!!! Allison says, "it will be ready when you get here in 10 minutes at the window". My husband was like "what really...great your a lifesaver". The food was ready when we got there. Nothing wrong with the order. Everything there. Perfectly fixed...to die for! Then the 2nd story happened last year first time we show up my husband ask for something they had called the year before a SCOOP, which is have an ice slush of your choice with ice cream in the middle...DELICIOUS!!!! Well, any ways when he ask they said they did not add it to the menu that year so my husband being disappointed is like "wow, really, man, I love those things". He then asks one of the regular workers, "if I tell you how to make it for me would you be willing to try. It doesn't have to be perfect. I am just craving one". He answered, "YES". Fixed it & IT WAS THE BEST EVER SCOOP! SO DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND VISIT AJ'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They make a pretty decent gyros. I wouldn't make a special trip, but it is worth it if you happen to be in the area. Mine would probably have been better had I not taken it to go (I know, "To Go" is part of their name) I recommend eating at one of the provided tables.

I can always remember an ice cream place in this location since my family moved to Georgetown 25 years ago. Sometimes the business name would change over the years, but they were always the same old thing - a small town ice cream shop. That has changed since AJ's became the name. Now you can get a great selection of ice cream for dessert after eating a unique style of food. I do not know of any other Greek restaurant for miles. I have stopped several times on the way to or from visiting my parents' house. The gyro's are great, as are the falafel. They have some of the best tzatziki sauce of any Greek/Mediterranean saturate I have been to -- and there are quite a lot in Houston where I live now. I haven't had any of their ice cream, I don't think. But, I am sure it is good. Hard to mess up stuff like that. The real reason this place is here is because of their unique and healthy food they have. Give it a shot.

This is the first time I've been to this place. I got the lamb gyro with fries and really liked it. The fries were a little over done but overall this place was great. I will definitely be coming back.

Great ice cream and shakes a lot of different flavors. I LOVE that they have kid size shakes I like getting that rather then a small.

Um, yea. Pretty much fabulously delicious. I've been here twice only as I am new to the Georgetown community (just bought a house here a couple of weeks ago). While we were out scouting local places we happened upon this place. I've not had a Gyro in at least 4 years. Man! I am so glad I found this place. Their Gyros are fantastic, not to mention the fries and onion rings. I usually use ketchup for both of those sides, but not here. Tastes just great without the condiments. The shaved ice was a real treat as well. When they are busy it is very slow but easily looked over as it's fantastic and every single thing you put in your mouth seems to be fresh. In my two experiences thus far, it's been amazing. I will definitely be making this a regular spot for me to go. Besides, so far, it's the best place to get some great food!

Love this place. One cannot be in a rush. The service is handled by teenagers who seem to be working their first summer each time I approach the window. Anything "Greek" or ice cream YUMMY. I would pass on the fish -- over cooked, tough, and without flavor. I just wish the owner would put some time into the outside: paint, tables, sign, parking, trash...the atmosphere is lacking.

Best gyros in the area. Order one with feta and kalamata olives, delicious! Absolutely worth the drive, people!! The baklava flurry is AMAZING!

Paid another visit and had the Greek portion of the menu, like always. This is the reason we come back, the Greek food is very good. We had the grape leaves or dolmas & falafel balls for apps and then had the chicken gyros. Sure the menu covers more than Greek food but its so good why have a burger when you can have something just a little different that's this good. The prices can't be beat and this is just a very good seasonal restaurant. I read on their facebook page that the season ends on October 5th so keep this in mind and pay a visit. For those of you that go to the Georgetown Drive-In Theatre then this is a MUST stop along the way before the movie.

Needing meat? They have it! Stopped in after picking blueberries at the Bryant Blueberry Farm down the road a bit. Their gyros are BIG! My carnivore child (who can eat a Porterhouse by herself) got full on a Regular size gyro. We also got the fresh cut fries - So good! I ordered a kid size Hot Fudge Malt and it was hard to finish because it is so rich. Just FYI - large portions. :)
