After a weekend of camping his is a great place to get breakfast on your way home. It is just a small shack that has a couple of walk up windows. It is always packed and has a line somtimes you have to park in the lots across the street because it is t busy. Now tey are not the best doughnuts but they are in my top five s tis is a must stop place in the area.

We really enjoyed spending the week here and will be going back next year. I wish it weren't so difficult to get a reservation. We rented a deluxe camp site for our 33' fifth wheel and it was a great fit. Gorgeous spacious site with a fire pit and lots of shade. We were very close to the pools, park and splash pad. I don't see a need to rent a golf cart but many people had, in my opinion everything was in walking or riding bike distance. My son only wanted to do one craft event, animaland which is $20. I did find it expensive and really an unnecessary expense. I think they should really offer more crafts or activities without an added expense. If you are taking a few kids that will want to participate, that will add up quickly! The pools stay open late as does the store, that's a great feature. The splash pad is wonderful and really big. Our toddlers and older kids all enjoyed it. I even went down a slide or two! The store and grill are reasonably priced for a campground. The ice cream was delicious and has great prices, 8 ice cream cones for under $20 and a few of us had double scoops! The huge waterslide are also an addition expense, $25 for the week. You can also buy day or single ride passes. My husband and teenage son enjoyed the waterslides and got a great workout climbing all those stairs!
So, like everyone else I will say that it has buttloads for the kids to do.... 3 pools, water park stuff for the little ones and lots to rent like golf carts. Cool. But NO shade at all at the pools and bouncy pillows. Bring your own shade because you won't find any! We were wiped out after 3 hours in total sun. So much for enjoying all of the pools and fun features... which you really can't do in one day anyhow. The other things.... It is very busy, crowded and loud. There is a super loud freeway that the park butts up to. Between that and the barking dogs I might as well get wasted so I pass out because sleeping will not be in the stars for me. I recommend bringing a sleeping mask and ear plugs, seriously. The bathrooms. I get it... Conserve water. But really, a shower where you have to hold the button for water the entire time? There is no 10 seconds, not even 5 seconds. It shuts off as soon as you move your hand. I'm about damn blind in my right eye now from shampoo. The fire pits are old rusty truck rims and very, very small. To boot, we have to share it with our neighbor. Bizarre. Update - holy mother of God was the fire hot due to that metal rim as a pit. When we tried to roast marshmallows it was honestly painful. My husband has no hair left on his right hand. Burned. Off. It was too hot for the kids to get close enough to. They were disappointed. This is not a place for "real" camping or adults with no kids. They do some awesome advertising/website because although it's a big place the sites are really packed together. I give it 3 stars only because the kids liked the pools and there is a store and other conveniences right on the premises.
Enjoyed a four-day visit with my family at the end of June. Highlights: - this place is great for kids (made me wish I was 8 years old again) - most activities that are not free and relatively affordable Two complaints: In regard to the beds in the cottages...don't expect to get a good night's sleep, especially if you weigh more than 150 pounds. Also, considering the cost, having to bring your own linens is a minor annoyance. That said my family thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and we began planning our return visit before we left. Perfect getaway for a long weekend.

My husband and I have eaten there a few times and we very much enjoy the quaintness of the place and the food is overall excellent! We've had a couple of instances of something being too dry (spinach ball appetizer) or chippos not being crunchy, but for the most part everything is great! I love the variety of options and some of the unique dishes they serve. Will be a long standing place we visit.
We drive through Northern Indiana and Ohio several times a year and we found another winner with Yelp. Timbuktoo features really yummy American food. The food was thoughtful comfort food. My polynesian chicken dinner not too sweet with just the right amount of savory, my husband's hamburger was to die for (my daughter and I had to have a taste!), my eight year old's half 'fruit' salad with chicken looked like a whole salad (and even at full price $8.95 was worth it since she ate veggies, fruit and chicken) and we shared a stupendous derby pie big enough for three chocoholics. The service was very good, bordering on too casual, but prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was fun, a mix of log cabin and home style. We will definitely stop by again.
Worst black bean burger I've ever had. Burnt bun - sent it back and asked for a different bun uncooked only to discover inside was an undercooked something with a gross texture. Waitress was nice, but didn't even ask how my meal was. Obviously knew the answer so didn't want to ask. If I could figure out how to add the picture I took I would.

Good local food and good people!
The Lake Shack is sort of a disaster, but the kind you don't mind pissing away a few hours at. Great hippie decor, friendly staff, and you can tell they know most of the patrons by name and beverage of choice. Now, about the food. I had a wholly unremarkable fried fish sandwich - hamburger bun, no condiments, couple of chunks of fish of shapes and sizes incongruous with the bun. The cole slaw was really quite good. My sister had a burger that was a long way from the ordered 'medium', closer to hockey puck. The real surprise were the homemade potato chips, which were fantastically prepared and seasoned and seemingly came from a different kitchen. I tried to redeem myself with a slice of pecan pie, but sadly it was unidentified custard with a thin layer of pecans on top. I'll echo a previous review: fun place to have a few drinks, but eat first (or plan to survive on potato chips).
Horrible experience! Way too loud, pushy waitress! Taco salad was ok, but the earring that was dropped in our salad was less than desirable! Waitress responded with bad day, @&#% happens! We are local but won't be back!

It was clean and the staff was nice but the sea food pasta is way over priced. It might be a lot of food but the flavor just isn't there.. Could have ate at Buffalo Wild Wings twice for the same price
Awful. The food is waaaay overpriced. I had "Wild caught salmon." It came as two small salmon "filets" on a big plate with nothing else, the presentation was that they crisscrossed the filets. I have never seen white meat salmon filets. Clearly processed and right out of the Gordons box and cooked to dehydration with no seasoning, prison food basically for $19. The onion rings were thinly sliced and overwhelmed with some type of tasteless batter, pancake mix maybe? The waitress confirmed that the mac & cheese was right out of the Kraft box. It took well over a half hour to get our food and the waitress never came back to get us more drinks, I had to ask the guy walking around if we could get another round. Dirty, no atmosphere. I had never heard of this place before and now I know why.
This place is my fav. I love the bar. I love the Hawaiian pizza. I love the drinks and the staff. I go here often. Tuesday 1/2 pizza dine ln only. You will be back if you try it. Yummy

The employees are fabulous here. Accurate order taking but even better customer service. I was here for probably my sixth visit over the weekend with my kids, father, and nephew. My 1 year old had a melt down when I left to take my 4 year old to the restroom. My stunned father did not know what to do, but the mostly female staff stepped into action to help. Thanks! Will be back!!
This place gets annihilated all day I think. Fun seeing who's coming and going on the road. Can't go wrong with a Diet Coke!
This is the dumpiest rest area I've been to in a while. Bathrooms were gross and the water comes out in the tiniest spurts. Couldn't get the soap off my hand. They do have Star Trek pinball, so that's cool. One star for that. I'm sure the mcdonalds is fine, but I didn't eat anything. Just had to use the restrooms!

It is McDonalds.....This place is not the fanciest Mickey D's and not the fastest one. Whatever. It is what it is, and the kiddos love stopping here when we are visiting a nearby lake.
Finally, a McDonald's where the flies outnumber the customers! It's pretty bad even for this company's low standards.
