Made the trek to Fortville this weekend to grab a couple of beers at The Georgetowner. No idea what to expect from a bar in a small town, but I was pleasantly surprised! They had a great selection of beers on draft - not just Bud Light here! Also split the appetizer platter - had chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls and fried mushrooms. So good! I mean, it would be hard to mess up fried food, but it was really really good - especially the chicken fingers! Our waitress was so great - really good service. Very friendly, efficient.. just grand :) I'd go back again too - they have a pool table that looked fun and just liked the small town feel of the place. Yahoo!

Wow. What a difference a visit makes. We were SO excited about being back in Fortville, and having dinner at The Georgetowner. I felt like we had been transported to an alternate universe, from our last visit. The food was mediocre, at best, and the service was just awful. Looks like our favorite place in Fortville is no more. :(

I am heartbroken to report that I must update my review of The Georgetowner Draft House. We ordered our burgers medium and they came out practically burnt to a crisp. And the unbelievable poppyseed coleslaw is no more. The server/bartender was less than attentive. And have the prices gone up? I think they have. I was terribly disappointed after our last experience there was so spectacular not even three months ago. I don't know what else to say. It was like eating in a completely different restaurant. So sad.

Great staff, beer selection, and food! It's definitely worth the drive to beautiful Fortville.

I was at the Georgetowner last Tuesday for a meeting and being as I've always had good service on prior occasions, I had my expectations set. There were probably about 11 of us in our group and the gentleman there was very accommodating and got us a table towards the back to fit our group. We all ordered drinks and a few of us were ordering food that night. The few times I've been before, I've never ordered food but I was slightly hungry and it was taco night so I had to partake. I ordered a few soft tacos, my sister ordered a few hard tacos, an another lady in our group ordered a burger and fries. I felt a little put off though that when we were first handed menus, the server (the same one that seated us) said "I should start off and tell you what I don't have to begin with before you order." "We had a big weekend and ran out of some items." Ok...I can see that. It is a small town and a small establishment but the first thing out of his mouth was chicken fingers along with a few other "staple bar foods" so I was slightly surprised by that. I would have thought some things would always be on hand but since I was getting tacos, I didn't linger on it long. Our tacos finally arrived and so did my friends burger, though her food did seem to take quite a while to come out. Something that wasn't pointed out but seemed to take my sister by surprise is that the soft tacos and the hard tacos had different toppings. She had a little meat, a little cheese and some lettuce. I had all of that plus tomatoes and onions. Perhaps that should have been pointed out. We weren't sure why there was a difference and considering they were a $1 each, she let it go. My friends burger was a different story. Though it was huge, it was completely burnt on the outside and still red in the middle. She took one bite and couldn't finish it and I don't blame her. The server offered to take off 1/2 off her bill but in our opinion, the whole thing should have been removed or been offered to be remade. I can see going back for a drink but I'm not sure any of us will go back for food again.

Food seemed like it had been made yesterday and microwaved today. Dirty tissues all over the shuffleboard in the game room. Bartender was nice enough but a few patrons were not friendly to us non-locals. Go somewhere else.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wasn't expecting it in Fortville IN (sorry Fortville). It was a interesting, old-world feel to it, and an alright beer selection. Could be a bit better, as it is a "draft house", but it was very nice to see. It has a very, small neighborhood feel to the place, which I liked. The service was good, and the bartenders friendly. I I don't make it to Fortville often, but the next time I am there, I'm going back to the Georgetowner.

The beer is very cold and the patrons are awesome. The food WAS OK. The invasive, schiza-bi-polar-spazoid cook is the deal breaker. When this carni leaves the kitchen and steps into the bar, it's a guaranteed buzzkill. I got sick off of this deusche hammer's food or listening to all his bulkshit...or both...(It was the food) Needless to say, I'll never eat there again but I may still stop in for some cocktails to see friends...(after I eat somewhere else) I can't wait until the Fort Grill starts serving alcohol in a couple weeks. Finally a professionally ran establishment in Fortville.

This place has a pretty good beer selection and awesome drink specials. The food is easily some of the better stuff I've had in the area, and I absolutely love the southwestern bbq burrito. Great deserts, too. The only 2 bartenders I have dealt with have both been awesome. The inside is actually pretty nice, and they have an outdoor seating area. It's reasonably priced, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Went back with a friend a few weeks later and on Sat nights appetizers are $3, which is a great deal. Got buffalo wings, which were very very spicy and hot. Otherwise it was great. Jen is no longer there, another girl Kelly a nice blonde bartends and is also lead singer for a band. Also main bar is no smoking!, you must smoke in outdoor patio. Will be back

Can't beat this place for lunch. Soups are excellent. Sandwiches are top shelf. Pulled Pork BBQ is the best I have had outside of Texas and the hamburger is number 2 on my all time best list. I go there every time I am near Fortville. Great Beer selection, but I am there for lunch while working so I cannot partake.

Ever want to feel like Norm on "Cheers" where everybody seems to know your name? This is it -- a little taste of a New England-style pub in small-town Fortville, IN. Great staff, great drink selections and great atmosphere. Oh, and be sure to catch them on nights when they have live music! Alan and Kara are especially entertaining!
