My parents brought my fiancé and I here for lunch. It is one of the Mexican places they enjoy eating at and it has good prices. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress was there quickly to take our drink orders and chips/salsa were brought to the table. The salsa was just ok it was kind of bland (not much spice). I ordered a chicken chimichanga. My meal was good but there wasn't anything too special about it. I did like that it came with guacamole. Overall, good Mexican restaurant.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The food is quick, cheap, and consistently delicious. I have never had a bad experience here.

Staff was polite and efficient . Food was served Fast... Hot.. And most of all was delicious. Food portions are generous. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. It's also a place a family can eat and not break the bank. I highly recommend you walk through their doors for an enjoyable dinner experience.

Quick bite before a concert, we were pressed for time and it was fast. We sat at the bar and had a huge beer. Margarita sizes are ginormous. I'd go back but I wouldnt get the same thing we had before. :)

Sure, at first look you think..."just another Mexican chain restaurant". And yes, from the standard Mexican tunes playing and big-ass margaritas, you're right; it APPEARS to be. But look beneath the neon birds and big sombreros and you'll find some pretty tasty food. They offer the standards that most Americans prefer; fajitas, burritos and so on. But they also offer things like the Tacos de Carne Asada....OMG!! Those babies taste just like the stuff my Mexican friends/chefs cook up. Something for everyone and a fun, upbeat, lively atmosphere. LOVE IT!

Followed Yelp to Cobellas. Would have never found it without Yelp its kinda hidden behind a Mall and I'm not from here. Stopped in for a quick dinner around 7:30PM. They were slow so I sat immediately. I asked to sit in the bar. They have some booths. There was only one other table occupied and nobody at the bar itself. Staff was very friendly and fast. I ordered a medium margarita it was huge and of excellent quality (like $7) I ordered chick mole enchiladas and Guacamole. Fresh Guacamole served in a flash and it was excellent. Before I finished 1/2 my drink and a few chips and Guac my dinner arrived. Mole was excellent, but way too fast (guess you can't make me happy) I ordered another Margarita, had to up my pace! I would defiantly go back here if I return to Fort Wayne. What I don't understand is why it isn't packed with locals. Food is great and unbelievably fast and fresh, reasonably priced and great drinks. If you live here go! If you are staying at any of the hotels on challenger its only 2 miles so go.

First of all i know authentic and i know good Mexican cuisine considering i lived near the Mexican Border for 6 years of my life. There is a differentiation between Tex-Mex and true Mexican food. Fort Wayne has alot of Tex Mex choices but fortunately for me Cebollas is not one of them. Of course you have to start your meal out with chips and salsa. The chips were great and salsa very adequate. If you like hot you have to ask but they do this because most Americans aren't hot spicy eaters. I am. Some of my favorites are the Chili Rellenos, Tamales, Enchiladas. Rice and beans are very tasty as well as the pi-co and guac if you like it. At this point if somebody asks me to recommend a Mexican restaurant i always recommend Cebollas on Fern-hill. Service was great, portion sizes are huge and I'm a big eater and of all the times I've ate here they are very prompt on getting the food to your table. Eat here you won't be disappointed.

This is easily my favorite Mexican joint in town (to quantify that, though, I like it so much that it's hard for me to venture away terribly often ... because whenever I do, I'm sad I didn't just go to Cebollas!) And, to be a true Cebollas snob, I prefer the one on Fernhill. Ok, first off: You can get out of here stuff and happy for $4 ... I kid you not. Get the chicken tamale a la carte (best tamale in town!) which is covered with a nice brown meaty (pork?) sauce and the side salad (which is so big it's on a dinner plate) which is lettuce, sliced onion and bell peppers, and cheese and you are incredibly satisfied for $4. Ok ... that's my lunch menu. My dinner menu varies slightly, namely in the addition of a big fat delicious margarita. Texas. On the rocks. With salt. If you drink it any other way, don't talk to me. The 48 ouncer is enough for you and a 2 companions (if you're in for the long haul, 1 companion (if you're expecting an early night), or no companions (if you're going to crash in your car for a few hours or have a very forgiving dd.) The staff are outstanding! The surroundings festive and comfortable. There's always futbol on and people to chat with. Go, go, go ... and thank me later!

I stopped in here with some buddies while visiting them in Indiana. Pretty good place overall. I enjoyed the salsa even though it was a bit watery, they are nice enough to give you separate bowls so there are no table battles over double dipping. I had the steak fajita quesadilla. Yes you read that right, steak fajita quesadilla. A somewhat odd dish I had never seen on any menu before so I went for it and was rewarded handsomely. Was it the best fajita ever? No. But it may have been the best quesadilla I've ever had. My only gripe is it was a bit loud and the server didn't seem too interested in our table but still took good care of us. If I were in Ft Wayne again I would definitely go again.

I've been to this place two times now on my visits to Ft. Wayne. Both times have been very good. The margaritas are outstanding. They come in sizes if 12 oz., 24 oz., and 48 oz. 48 seems insane. The chips were dull (we actually used a salt shaker on them), but the salsa they came with was extremely addictive. I continued to mix chips and salsa in with my meal. The prices are extremely reasonable. I had a fajita burrito. It was about $8. The portions aren't monstrous, which I appreciate. Atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff was exterenely nice and attentive without being pushy.

I had the lunch special. Did not think there was anything special or tasty about the food, and I did not care for the burrito served with sauce on top. (?) The only good thing was that it was a cheap lunch.

The atmosphere, service, and drinks are always good. A good place to gather with friends. The food has always left something to be desired here for me. People always tell me Cebollas has great authentic mexican food, but if this is what you feel is authentic then your mistaken. The food is good but far from authentic or even the best in Fort Wayne.

This is really good Mexican food. A lot of places in town are "tex Mex". This is one of the exceptions. They have a comfy atmosphere with very friendly staff. The food is always fast and hot! Their margaritas are AWESoME!! Big, cheap, heavy mix = awesome!

  • Jay F.

Authentic Mexican tacos! The first thing we ask at a Mexican restaurant is if they have cilantro and onions. Surprisingly many do not! But Cebollas keeps it real and makes delicious steak tacos. Excellent salsa and chips too. If only they had pepsi products...

Super yummy Mexican food... the queso has me so freaking spoiled. I clearly never need to order anything else. They have enormous (seriously huge) Margaritas. The food is fresh and fast. Hmm... queso - gotta go!

Best TexMex fare that I have found in Ft Wayne. Service was pretty good for being busy, not exactly break-necked pace, but who wants to order before you look at the menu, right? Drinks are good, both the iced tea (me) and Margarita (wife). The salsas were good, the chips fresh and hot, the entrees were as advertised. The portions are a bit on the large size, so bring your appetite or a friend or order ala carte (which is what I did last time in.) We have tried most of the menu and I don't think there is anything you will find on the menu that will disappoint you. Give this place a try, if you like TexMex you will like it. This is our favorite location of this restaurant in Ft Wayne.

I hate to hafta do this, because I do not know the market for mexican eateries in the ft wayne area, but 3 stars for you, senor. The place felt big, cool, and fun. A nice view of the mall and enough parking for dinner time. The beer and margs were good. The beans and guac were lacking, but the enchilada sauce was amazing! I mean, seriously brilliant. Table service may have been quicker. I sat at the bar and service was very slow. I mean waiting for 20 minutes for simple things. Chips were basic, didn't taste too fresh but were not sooooo greasy. All in all, it was okay. Reminds me of hundred of places I've been to. Some things good, some things bad, but bring a good crowd and you'll have fun.

EXCELLENT! I always say that a good ethnic restaurant will have a fairly even mix of ethnicities for patrons. You can tell it is good and if it is authentic by if people that should know eat there. Cebollas is no exception. Superb food. Very authentic. Even the atmosphere is authentic. It feels like you stepped into a border town grill. Very reasonable prices as well (most things under $10). Can't be beat

One of my favorite places to dine. One visit had great food but bad service. another visit had bad food and ok service another visit my tacos didn't have cheese and the service was just ok but had to ask for everything like chips and refills. Another visit had to wait 20 min just for chips and service but after that the server got it right. Let's just say the service isn't good but the food keeps me going back. If they change their food I wouldn't go back. Oh by the way. .. love the chips and salsa.

I have never had a bad experience. Fast friendly staff, great food, clean building. The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount you get, and they always have good drink specials. I visit at least once a month. No other Mexican joints in town can hold a candle.

After my first review 3 years ago, I have been here more times than I can count. Cebollas has definitely grown on me! Still have some of the best chips and salsa in town. Always a good place for big groups, and can't argue with the margaritas. I usually get enchiladas or the mixteca salad if I'm trying something lighter.

Attentative service & warm chips followed by really good food. We had the Pollo A La Palapa which is a chicken breast with grilled veggies covered with their queso dip & split steak fajitas. Cheap yummy Mexican food

Quite possibly the most generic "Mexican" food I've ever had. I got the taco salad, the beef was so flavorless, I doused the whole thing in salsa and hot sauce. At that point it was still bland, and now completely cold. I didn't even bother finishing it. My sister got the chicken chimichanga and was equally displeased. Our friend got the #2 lunch special and was also extremely underwhelmed. The only redeeming qualities to this place: the service was good and everyone working was polite. The bathrooms were clean. The beer was ice cold. The chips were fresh, and the queso was very good, but could've been warmer. Seemed to get too cold, too quickly. If I had to go back, I'd leave drunk and hungry. Taco Bell is more authentic.

Based solely on my last visit, I give 5 stars. It was a great visit. Good sized portions, enjoyable environment plus quality food equals a happy day! However, I've been disappointed here previously...I just hope they don't backtrack, because there are so few good Mexican restaurants in FW. Staff was very friendly, chips were warm, and salsa was pleasant, with just enough kick for me, but not too much for 'those who like it mild.' Margarita's were good. Fajitas and enchiladas were both plated nicely and served hot. Enchiladas had the right balance of ingredients, and rice and guacamole all were fine. The Pico de gallo was also good, with the correct sneaky amount of spiciness. The bathroom was in very bad condition...but hey, it's a mexican restaurant...it kind of fits.

Great atmosphere. Mediocre service. The food isn't what it used to be. There are way too many other better Mexican restaurants in town now. Cebollas is now a very distant 3rd in my book for their food. I would still recommend this place though.

Authentic mexican food for a great price! We were seated immediately and there was no wait which is always a plus. I had the fish tacos..they were delicious and were very filling. I also had a mango margarita (YUM!). My boyfriend had the steak fajitas and he likes Cebolla's fajitas the best. I definitely recommend this place is you're looking for some great mexican food. The service is great and the food always comes out so quick too!

I lived in the Mission District in San Francisco for several years and I like to think I know decent Mexican food. I was polite about going out for Mexican in Indiana... don't hate me, I mean, Mexican food in Fort Wayne? That said. This place is pretty excellent! The food was outstanding! I will say this might be teh best salsa I have had outside of Califiornia. Teh Margaritas were out of this world and I had a burrito (I was being cheap) and it was big and GOOD! That said. I have never before eaten fried Ice Cream. I did here and it was REALLY GOOD! It's one ofthios ethings that you think won't be good, but it turns out to be great!

Cebollas Mexican Grill is a delight to the senses. The decorations are bright and cheery. With a party of 9 we were quickly seated and our waitress was very attentive always nearby yet never the annoying fly. Most of the party was impressed with their meal, portions are huge, and the food was served hot. The two that ordered chicken were not impressed since the chicken was tough and dry.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
