Recently went to this restaurant due to the praise that my sister and brother-in-law consistently give this place. We were definitely impressed. The service and atmosphere were pleasant. The quality of the food was excellent. The owner was extremely personable and it's obvious he cares about the food and his customers. I had the veal alla marsala and it was perfectly prepared. Other members tried the chicken alfredo and the sauce was delicious. My brother-in-law RAVES about the carbonara and it was cooked to perfection with a perfect amount of smokiness to the bacon. We tried the toasted ravioli and stuffed mushrooms and they were also delicious. They were out of calamari but I will definitely be returning to sample that.

What can I say had jury duty and got to eat there for free it wasn't worth free it was disgusting nasty dirty and then the unwrap straws that was pretty disgusting it was a joke. My food was cold the rolls were soggy and doughy just really disgusting. Place reminded me of the Soup Nazi the guy was so rude.

This place was average at best, regarding the food, but the straws grossed my wife and I out. They were not individually wrapped, and just stuck in a bucket by the drinks. When I grabbed one straw I touched like ten more, so someone else is drinking my hands oils as I type. I can't remember if I've played in raw sewage today, so hopefully they were clean. You never know! Hopefully I can add a picture of what I mean. My wife described her rigatoni and "gummy and chewy". My stromboli was ok, but I've had better. When you walk in the first thing you see is pizza in a case. It looks like plastic, really though, it's just cold and congealed. They cut you off a slice and reheat it. Yum. Single guys on a Saturday morning after a Friday night bender, here you go! Reheated pizza, yay!

I've lived in Evansville for 8 years. People here talk about Milano all the time, so I figured I would give it a shot. It's gross. Let's just be honest here. The waiters are attentive, but their speak is informal and kind of rude. They run off with your glass to get you refills...which makes me scared that the drink I got back could have been someone else's. The tables we sat at was wobbly. Not just a little..enough to spill my bitter coffee. The entrees come with salad and garlic rolls. The salad was standard iceberg, but floating in enough dressing for 5 salads. The garlic rolls look amazing, until you see the pooled butter that doesn't solidify under them. The have no salt. Frankly they are not worth the calories. We tried the mozzarella sticks. They're as good as Arby's....not a total let down. My husband and I got the only vegetarian dishes: spinach cantelonni and eggplant parm. They were just dishes of mush, tomato sauce and cheese. I wouldn't take food from this place for free. Don't waste your time.

This restraint gives every impression of being on it's last legs. It was nearly empty when we went on a Wednesday evening at 5:30. The carpets have stains. The ceiling has stains. It's dark and run down. The server was fine but nothing better. The rolls were swimming in oil. The lasagna was also swimming in oil. The salad is 10 times better at that Italian chain and was swimming in dressing. The sauce was tasty. The prices were reasonable. That's all I have for pros.

Seriously, this place has the worse food I have ever tasted! The sauce was so spicy hot my wife couldn't eat it. She threw it away as soon as we got home. I am Italian and the meatballs were the size of Swedish meatballs. No Italian would ever have tiny meatballs. NEVER AGAIN....

The place was completely empty when we walked in and for the duration of our meal. Granted it was a Monday night, but it was 7:00pm. So needless to say, the service was great. The salad (iceberg) was soaked in dressing. The dinner rolls, though good, were coated in sitting in a pool of garlic butter which meant you couldn't really eat more than one or two and you couldn't wipe up pasta sauce with them. The pasta was good, not fantastic by any means, but worth the money. The coffee was WEAK. You know it's weak coffee when you can see the bottom of the cup when it's full.

Been there a few times and its just been ok. The last time I went had the lasagna. Stouffers frozen would put this to shame. Not recommended. Avoid.

Hands down, the BEST food and friendliest service in Evansville. Excellent place to go for lunch, the service is quick and an outstanding selection of pizza, stromboli, calzone and pasta varieties are hot, fresh and ready. Fresh ingredients are on the little salad bar that you can make to go. Lunch combos are a really great value, you get pizza slices, calzone, stromboli or pasta plus a salad, delicious hot roll and drink for less than $7. Today I had an excellent cheese calzone and I plan to return soon for pasta and pizza. I was directed to Milano's by local Evansville firefighters who highly recommended it as the best place for lunch. And you know firefighters know good food! I am only in Evansville on business for a few weeks but if I lived here I would be a lunch regular at Milano's. I really appreciated the friendly, enthusiastic servers. A stop here will brighten up even this cold and snowy day.

I'd give this place like a 3.7 - not exactly a 4, but close. Here's my thoughts: Pros: Cool setup for ordering...Fast service...I had the pepperoni calzone - it was super good. Like a hot pocket, the ends of it were kinda dry and filling-less...but you'll have that with most calzones, so it's whatever. And the rest was delish...Service was good...location was cool...rolls that came with everything were SO good. Cons: The pasta we had was a bit bland...The music they played wasn't really fitting the atmosphere (lol, titanic music and elevator music)... Other than those things, which aren't a big deal, the place was a good eat for the price (:

Lousy frontage, this at one time one of the other classic looking downtown building on Main St. But someone about 30 yrs ago thought to " modernize" with an ugly plate glass frontage. It looks like your walking into a Goodwill Store. The rooms are big and cold feeling, low lights don't hide that. But the food was classic old style Italian. Light cream sauces and nicely cooked scallops. From what I saw, this was the best dish at our table. Take rubber gloves if you want to pick up tag bread, but don't expect to wipe up the sauces, the bread is already saturated with garlic olive oil. Nice basic wine list, decent prides. But then you are in the middle of nowhere Indiana! Doubt I'd go back again,

Based on the reviews, I had high hopes for Milano's. Sadly, I was disappointed. First off, the food was prepared in advance and when I placed my order for two pieces of pizza they had to warm them up in the oven. Secondly, the tablecloths and carpeting had stains and did not look clean at all. The food itself was ok, but would have been better when freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and the lunch pricing was very affordable. Overall it was just ok, definitely not the best Italian restaurant in Evansville.

My favorite restaurant. I live in LA now, but I have yet to find a better Italian restaurant. Milano's marinara is so good, I eat it like soup.

Great little Italian place downtown! It's really dark inside, not the best service, but the food is some of the best Italian I've truly ever had. The alfredo--amazing. My bf had a pasta dish with spicy sausage in it--too good! Lasagna delicious! Definitely try it!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
