Eating here for the first time as I type...we just moved to town and this is probably our fav restaurant that we've tried... chili 5 way=awesome, cheeseburger= yummy, fries= golden goodness, banana supreme icecream= oh my word!! The pb & j looked soooo good not your ordinary pb&j. Reasonably priced. Cute atmosphere. Gotta try...they make all their own ice cream!! Will be back for sure!!

The ice cream was on point but we elected to eat our ice cream in the car. The restaurant had a dated dirty feeling. Like an old Dairy Queen that you know is about to be shut down so they just stopped caring about atmosphere or quality. The people working the front counter were nice and quick to help us. I would go here again but would probably use the drive through next time.

I dream and fantasize about this place, and would consider moving to Evansville just to be nearer to this wonderland of deliciousness. My mom used to bring me here when I was a kid and it's still the best burger I've ever had. The bun is so fresh and buttery, the meat is fresh and expertly grilled, and the fries are perfection. YUM, I want to make the 1000 mile trek from Philadelphia and eat here tonight. The mint chocolate chip ice cream has to be the best in the country. You can watch the food being made so you know everything's legit and the smell alone can get your mouth watering to waterfall force. I am so glad I don't live here because I would gorge here for lunch literally everyday and double my weight. The whole 1950s burger stand vibe is great and the cooks wear these cute hats. LOVE this place. Don't go to Evansville without experiencing it. But consider your arteries and don't move there for it, like I'm tempted to each day when lunch rolls around. Would give it six stars if I could.

After a fun night visiting Evansville, my friends & I were looking for some good grub before leaving town on Sunday morning. One of my friends (Shout out to Daphne A.) went to undergrad in Evansville, and she suggested this place. We trust her, so we went along. The outside and inside slightly remind me of Steak & Shake meets an old diner. I had this peanut butter & jelly sandwich... something I don't think I have ever ordered at a restaurant! It was pretty great though, but I wish I would've ordered milk to go with it. The bread was white and thick, and milk (which is on the menu) would've helped it go right down. But regardless, it was good! I also had french fries (Yeah, it was a bit bizarre...), which are shoestring-style. Not the best ever, but they hit the spot for the grease I was craving. (Yeahhhh...) They also have the typical burger 7 such fare, if you don't want PB&J. ;) After I ate, I went back up front ice cream. There are a variety of delicious flavors, which you can sample. Any of them can be made into a milkshake, which is what I opted for... That hit the spot too! Yum! This is a 3.5 star place for me. It hit the spot and I would definitely eat here again. There aren't many frills, but it feels home-y. Worth a visit!!!

Great food and service. Was very busy but we did not have to wait very long. I like the rewards for good grades. Wish they could and more room for tables.

Good food, great atmosphere. I recommend the chili dogs.. so cheap, and soooo good. The shakes are yummy, too! I ordered a chocolate shake and had to choose between chocolate chocolate or chocolate vanilla. I went with chocolate vanilla, which is more like your everyday chocolate shake. There ice cream is also amazing. I had a little of the Banana Supreme or something like that.. it tasted like a frozen, creamy banana pie and even had little pieces of vanilla wafers.

This places offers greasy thin burgers and obnoxiously thin overpriced fries. Neat atmosphere, but this place falls short of my expectations. I've had better.

I grew up less than 10 minutes from GD Ritzy's and I remember my whole family coming here for dinner a lot. While I was visiting Evansville recently, GD Ritzy's was my first pick for food. I guess I have become more picky of what I eat, but my burger wasn't up to par. My burger patty was a bit undercooked and my bun was EXTRA doughy. It was definitely not as good as I remembered...

I have been to the G.D. Ritzy's in Evansville twice and I live almost 500 miles away. I wish there was one closer. I was exposed to G.D. Ritzy's in there heyday of the mid to late 80's. I worked at there only KC location for 1.5 years. The food is really good but the ice cream is definitely the draw. I can't get anything even close to it near here. The amaretto cherry and the chocolate chunks and almonds are the best.

While just a burger and fry joint, we all know Ritzy's has a lot of something extra going on. I've been eating here since I was a baby and will continue to eat here! I love the #1 (cheeseburger, shoestring fries, drink).......I love the hot dogs, the salads are delicious, and I love love love the chili which with the 7 different ways can be customized for you! The ice cream is yum yum yum--famous chocolate, mint chocolate chunk, peppermint, butter pecan, oreo--mmmmmmm....and get a sundae or milkshake! And if you get chocolate, it can be vanilla-chocolate or chocolate-chocolate (def. go choc-choc)

Food is great. Awesome old school burgers and fries. Likely, best in evansville. One thing I couldn't get past was paying almost four dollars for a super super small shake!! What the heck ppl they are good but not four dollars for three sips good..

Growing up in Columbus, OH, I went to GD Ritzy's on Henderson and Reed (which I think was the original), as well as the one on High Street at Cooke Rd, many many times in the 80's. I miss what was a childhood staple for me growing up... which is why I love visiting Evansville, and reliving a great memory.

I lived in Evansville for just about 2 years. Thank God I left when I did. Otherwise by now I'd be on my way to a stint on one of those shows where they have to cut down your wall to get to you and climb over piles of GD Ritzy's bags to get you out with a forklift. This place is SO good. From the minute you walk inside, you're reminded of that little greasy food/ice cream shack/drive in most of us frequented as kids. The fries: thin, crispy heaven. The burgers: drive-in great. Nothing gourmet here folks - greasy, melty and with super-fresh toppings. The staff: mostly high school kids but they are very disciplined. They wear the little paper hats and everything! The PB & J!: Crazy good. They use thick bread, chopped peanuts and sliced strawberries! Perfect combination and great for the kiddos. The ice cream: home-made and pretty good but not the best I've had. (Sconnie bias) I have no idea how McDonald's and Burger King stay in business in E-Ville with a place like this around. YUM!!

I love their peanut butter and jelly-two thick slices of bread with chopped peanuts and sliced strawberries, yum! I'm not a fan of their fries, but I'm the only person I know that doesn't love them, so maybe it's just me!

Definitely the best fast food I have ever had. And it's local!!! Best salads, best burgers and fries. The ice cream is homemade and by far the best in town. Nothing comes close. The Chocolate is a rich, cocoa chocolate. The Butter Pecan Cashew is amazing! The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is highly addictive. I have never had anything subpar from Ritzy's. All the hot food is always fresh and hot and the salads are always crisp and fresh with the best croutons I have ever had in my life. It doesn't get any better than this. Buy local!

World's Best Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich - with peanuts and sliced strawberries on texas toast sized bread. My mouth is salivating right now. Great burgers, shoe string fries, chili, and ice cream too.
