I'm not sure why this restaurant has an overall 3 star review. It definitely deserves to be higher. I don't give 5 stars very often. My mom and I stopped last night for a late dinner after shopping at the Outlets. We were immediately greeted by an upbeat hostess and our server was happy and attentive. We chose to dine outside on their lovely patio area. Tables and chairs were clean, comfortable and looked new. We both ordered the fish and chips dinner. The fish was outstanding. I thought we were dining on the coast, it was that fresh. The General Manager prepared and brought out our meal to give his staff a break because they had a busy Labor Day weekend. They were even doing a fund raiser for their local boys and girls club. Warm Atmosphere, Excellent Service, Great Food, Overall a PERFECT Experience! We will definitely stop there again when we shop the Outlets. ~Mrs. J

Okay for a giant salad! Decor is fun but the seats and tables abit worn. Deserts look good, kids enjoyed root beer floats. The service was excellent. I didn't realize it was a chain restaurant when I stopped but it was a fun atmosphere and the food was a good value.

Walked in, all the tables in the bar are dirty. Server says sit anywhere I'll be right back to clean the table. She never comes. Other server says do you need a menu, I say yes and a clean table and some service. She says she's really busy but will get to me. She's not, she's lazy. I've finished my meal, I'm the only one here and the tables and the bar are still dirty!

Ok, yes, this is a standard American food chain near the outlet mall and I am pretty sure that this most recent visit was not my first, but I don't really remember prior visits, however, I feel the need to write a review because of how awesome our service was. My husband and brother in law went here while my sister and I shopped at the nearby outlet mall. Once we were too tired to continue, we came and joined them. Found them sitting at the bar and drinking lots of beer. This place was very busy by this time since it was a Saturday evening but there was still a few seats at the bar so we just stayed there. Ordered myself a big beer and they had Sun King Cream Ale on tap (as well as a few other local beers), awesome! We were very hungry and started with some pretzels to share. Those were tasty but I wanted to save my appetite for some of the chicken tortilla soup, it is so good but does have a little kick to it. Devoured this and then my husband and I split their club sandwich, very solid club and tasty fries. We also got their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (they have other flavors too) and let me just tell you JUST GET THESE THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS especially when still warm. Ugh, I just want more now!! Hopefully you get the idea. So let me just tell you about the highlight of this visit besides the cookies, the bartender was OUTSTANDING. So personable, quick, funny and attentive. It was such a smooth and fun experience. I wish I remembered his name. A manager appeared behind the bar at one point and I made sure to tell him. He not only took care of the constant busy flow at the bar, but even had regulars he knew and took care of wonderfully. I wish I lived closer so I could just come hang out there and drink more big beers with him. And eat cookies.

I was disappointed with the "new and improved" Max and Erma's. The decor is nice enough -- bricks and wood with big screen televisions, sort of an updated Cheers set -- and the staff was friendly enough, but the food wasn't very good and the beer was expensive. There's not much on the menu beyond the usual stuff, sandwiches, salads and burgers, and I had a hard time deciding what to order. Burgers seemed to be the most prevalent on the menu, with the option of creating your own. I ordered the mushroom / Swiss burger. It looked really good when it was served, and big enough but the bun was soaked with grease. I'm not sure what the point of that is as it doesn't seem as if the burger is juicier as a result. The bun was "wet" with grease. So it's not that the burger is juicy, it's just greasy. The mushrooms must have been canned as some of them were really cold atop my burger. The french fries were good but they were stingy with them. I had a Sam Adam's Oktoberfest draft and it was six dollars. I'd go back, order something different, but reluctantly.

Typical chain restaurant - decent service, decent food, decent décor. It's pretty much what you'd expect. I did the Build-Your-Own-Burger, which was a nice menu feature. The burger was pretty good and the fries were cooked perfectly (right in the middle between crispy and mushy). The kitchen forgot the bacon for my burger, but our waitress was great and went and got some for me. My daughter had a grilled cheese and fries. It looked like pretty standard kids menu fare. She was satisfied with it. For 99 cents, we added an ice cream sundae to the meal and she got to pick out her own toppings. The menu advertises that they have a "bathtub full" of topping choices. What that really means is there is an old tub in the corner with a few choices on it. Not really the variety you envision when reading the menu, but my 5 year old was still happy with rainbow sprinkles and chocolate syrup. Overall, for $20, we had a decent meal. It was nice to sit down and be waited on and the atmosphere was good for families.

My friend and I came he to enjoy some girl time and good! It was a cozy place not to loud and we sat in the bar area!!! We had a wonderful waitress by the name of Tara! I felt like we spoke for over 3 hours the food was great and also the service not once did she rush us to go or even when it was closing time what a great place to just hang!

I'd never heard the name here but was up for the shopping malls with my husband. Wow. Sloooooooooow service. Was told the manager was going to come talk to us since the service had been so slow and it too 45 minutes to get our food. a simple hamburger and bbq. The manager did come over. All he did was ask did we need anything. Really? Really?! That is all you can say about your shotty service at your restaurant. Secondly, wow at the decor, I don't know what kind of place they are trying to be here. They have those carpeted tiles in some sections and they don't even match. Then they have booths with nice chairs on the opposite side. They have old memorabilia hanging in spots. Then they have a place where there are very beautiful crystal looking chandeliers over tables and claw foot bathtubs where some drinks sit. I mean. Really?

Good food. Decent service. The burgers are very good and the prices are very good compared to quality. Other commenters are correct about the speed of service, a little slow but not terrible. Overall a great alternative to Ruby Tuesday or other restaurants nearby.

Horrible, food cold, way to expensive for what we got. The waitress spilled the coffee on the table right in front of me and didn't bother to clean it up, plus she had attitude on several occasions like we were bothering her to ask for anything. The place was not packed at all. The kids food looked liked they had pulled it straight out of the freezer of SAMs. When the waitress finally cashed out our bill and brought the ticket she had strawberry daiquiri all over my card and the bill, from someone else's drink. In a strange twist they brought out a cookie sheet of over cooked cookies. Do not waist your money!

You know that point when you are on the toilet wondering what you ate to get there. Wonder no more. I'm literally writing this on the toilet waiting to vomit. When we walked into the restaurant the hostess refused to seat us in a booth because we had 5 people. The booths were big enough, i looked around, none were clean. The others food was ok, my pork and beef burger was a tick under done, i guess it was more than under done because here i sit. My onion rings were cold and greasy, i asked for it to be fixed and it was, right away. Hot and greasy. I give up. Wait staff was ok but i didn't feel special, i felt like a number. Won't go back and urging you to stay away.

Decent food: the chicken, mozzarella, sun dried tomato sandwich is good. Good beers on tap (Fat Tire, Goose Island IPA, locals). Friendly service.

My friend and I always come here after a long day of shopping at the Outlet Mall next door. Boy were we disappointed. It was a SATURDAY night, and the place was deserted. That should have been the first indication that something was wrong. We placed our order, and the waitress seemed friendly enough, but then she disappeared for what seemed like forever, and the table next to us was having problems as well. I ordered the new Turkey Burger with dressing on the side and a side of fruit. What I got was a Turkey Burger loaded with dressing and french fries. There was tomato on it, if that's what you call it, as it was the top of the tomato and that's it. Really??? I wouldn't have expected this for a place that charges over $10 for a Turkey Burger. The waitress agreed to get me another bun and the fruit. However, she forgot to come back. By the time she showed back up, complaining about how lame the kitchen staff was, I had almost finished the open faced burger (now). All in all, the food was mediocre, the help was TERRIBLE, and there was no manager around at all. Don't even get me started about how long it took to get the check. Dinner lasted about 1.5 hours, not that I don't love spending time with my friend, but come on!!! Don't waste your money on this place. What with all the restaurants that actually want business, we should have gone somewhere else!!

We always eat here when we go to Exit 76 antique mall and it's really good. The service is also good.

The service was terrible. 20 minutes to place an order and an hour later we left never getting our entrees. We did hear the woes of the waitress being shorthanded. At least we Didn't pay for the sodas we did get. I loved this place when they were open in my area but I would never go back.

i heart u max and erma's!!! this is not an average restaurant. it's exceptional! the one in Louisville closed and that sucked for me. I get to Edinburgh a few times a year and want to eat here every time. I am a fajita nut and above all Mexican places this has the best ever! the pretzel sticks app are great. fried pickles and ranch! garbage burgers with everything on it! their Cole slaw is amazing. loredo steak is good. service is always great. we usually sit in the bar. I say again - I luv this restaurant

Your usual run of the mill sit down restaurant. Comparable to say Chili's or Applebee's. Service was good, food was somewhat average. They did have a pomegranate non-alcoholic drink was pretty damn good. I think it was basically pomegranate juice and tonic, anyway, this was a good place to have dinner after visiting the nearby outlet malls. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here when you can have the same meal in tons of other places.

Everything was great from start to finish! Prices were great and loved the offers like unlimited fries, fresh baked cookies, breadsticks with salad, and of course their amazing tortilla soup and burgers! Yum!

This is a great home town grille. It is clear the people who work here care about the food and service. I am traveling for work and found a friendly atmosphere with a diverse menu and full bar. I like to eat healthy but am not a fanatic. There is a good balance of healthy choices and true comfort food. My simple sirloin was cooked a perfect medium rare and served with a crusted baked potato and steamed veggies. The quality was above main stream chains. I dined in the bar which has a Hoosiers sports themed decor. Phillip tended bar and was more than happy to accommodate special requests for channel changes. We all know what Hilton Garden and Ruby Tuesday's is like. Cross the street and walk on the wild side:)

Once again, I'd do 3.5 stars if I could. It's above average, but not a ton. I will say my burger was done EXACTLY as I requested it (why do so may restaurants not get that right?) but, as with the rest of the menu, it lacked some pizzazz. Good solid food, but nothing spectacular. I will say that the service was WAY above averages. The servers seem to really enjoy their work and that goes a long way towards making a memorable experience.

Ok. Kind of like Applebees or TGIFridays. Nothing memorable. About $8 for lunch. Wld skip next visit to outlet mall.

Walked in and sat down to order a drink. I first tried to order a captain and coke, but they were out of Captain Morgan. So I looked at the menu, and it said they had a special on pint glasses of Pabst Blue Ribbon I tried to order one of those, and I was told I would have to order something else, because they were "out of gas" and couldn't serve any draft beer. Never got to the food. Got up and left.

My husband and I enjoy Max and Erma's - we visit the one near our home several times a month. We found ourselves at the one in Edinburgh and stopped in for a bite to eat last week. My go-to entree is the Erma sized Grilled Tuscan Chicken. It has the perfect portion size for me, and the flavors and textures always make me happy. Rick likes to try new things each time and usually gets a burger of some kind. They have quite a variety of them to try. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The service here tonight was spot-on, very friendly and thorough without feeling like we were being hovered over.

So sad that we waisted our money. Stayed at the Hilton and thought it would be "the spot". NOT THE CASE! We ordered the Garbage burger that was described to be loaded with all the goods, including sauteed mushrooms. There was LITERALLY one mushroom on the whole burger. We should have listened to the warning in the name. GARBAGE!! Asked to add Bbq sauce and they didnt. The chicken on the BLTA was so dry it could have been crushed to powder, also asked for swiss and no swiss was added. The charge sure was though. So bummed. You do get a discount with your hilton room key though, save a whole two bucks off the bill. At least it was two dollars I didnt waste. Someone also needs to let them know what the description "seasoned fries" means...we were thinking seasoned salt, or a crispy curly fry type. These didnt even have salt, so ZERO "seasonings" on the "seasoned fries". Seasoned must be an indcation on the age of the fries as they were soggy, wrenkled and wet like an old lady. Booooo!!

This place was great! My husband and I shared the nachos grande and Reuben and it was all delicious! It was serious the best Reuben I've ever had. The fries were great too and my husband who hates fries loved them. The server was very sweet and attentive and the manager stopped by just to check on us. Great place.
