If you're looking for something fancy, skip Allen's Country Kitchen. But if you're hungry and on a budget, it's the place for you! Their lunch special is $6. I had a grilled cheese, soup, salad, and a parfait (which they take as a fancy way of saying Jello mixed with Cool Whip). It is a lot of food for the price. The meals aren't going to be blow your mind good, but you definitely won't be hungry when you leave!

HORRIBLE NASTY DIRTY How this place stays in business is a joke. Went for lunch and got a burger (cooked on a George Forman grill) with two sides. As a chef myself I immediately knew every item was purchased premade from Gordon Food Service. Why have a RESTAURANT and serve ALL PREMADE ITEMS??? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GO TO MCDONALD'S OR BURGER KING.

My wife often refers to Allen's Country Kitchen by sounding out its initials, "Ack". Sadly, that's not just acronym, but onomatopoeia. That said, if you can get over the stench of grease and the cast of Duck Dynasty -- both of which are likely to greet you as you walk in! -- you'll find that Allen's burger is not only serviceable but good. The bun, however, is exactly the kind of flimsy, soggy, white bread crap you'd expect from a place called Ack.

We really liked the smallness and quaintness of the place. If you're after fancy this place isn't for you. We enjoyed our meal and the friendly attitude of the waitstaff.

Great prices and the waitresses are very kid friendly. No complaints from my family. We will eat there again and again. It's what I will call a down to earth little local family restaurant.

Greeted with "good luck finding a place to sit." Super disappointed...waited an hour, waitress was very rude and when we got our food, it was cold...lovely. We will not be back. Plus, coffee had some weird film on it?

I only eat here twice a day every day, so I know what I'm talking about. If you want down home Hoosier cooking, large portions, and reasonable cost, then this is the place for you. Warning: it can get crowded at lunch, so you can either join us at the "cool kids" table for breakfast (best pancakes in three counties) or wait until after the lunch crowd clears out. The food was delicious-one of the best meals I've eaten so far. But, it didn't take me long to become really upset with my waitress who looks and sounded like the same one that use to work at Steak N Shake. She was worthless there too. Anyhow, since I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat all of the food she said she would bring me a box. So she brought the people sitting at the window a box for their food. And then she got to talking about some project that this man was working on completely ignoring me. I waited about 5 minutes for her and finally turned around and ask her for a box. I waited some more sipping on my coffee and she continued to ignore even when I got up from the table to pay my bill. And she was still there talking about this project instead of doing her job so I never got to take my extra food home which would have made another meal for me since they serve a lot of food. I've had it with you people. There are too many other restaurants in town that I go to where I don't have to deal with this nonsense. I will never go in that place again since it is too much like Long John Silvers where you don't know if you are going to get good food on one visit or bad food on the next visit. That goes for the lousy waitresses who would rather ignore their customers and not do their jobs. They need to fire that waitress that waited on me today. She is totally worthless.

Deliciously tender smoked pork on Friday night special! Crazy good home cooking for super reasonable prices. Try the cookies and cream as a side! The caramel nut apple pie is Yum! The decor has a certain small town charm about it. I'll be back soon!

Decent-sized portions. Was both impressed and a bit worried that my eggs tasted strongly of the next guys' hamburger. Atmosphere is a little smoky coming from the kitchen. Seating upstairs in the loft and in the former bank vault.

I love Allen's Country Kitchen. They have great breakfast, lunch and dinner. The people are really friendly and it's a nice friendly atmosphere. We usually eat breakfast--their omelets are pretty tasty. I've always wanted to try the biscuits and gravy, but haven't yet. If you're in the area, you should definitely try Allen's.

This place is terrible! I've ate here once and tried on two other occasions. Food was mediocre, had to sit at a dirty table Until one of the waitresses was able to clean it. When she finally came back to take our order, she was rude to my 4 year old. Who is rude to a 4 yr old child?!? Service was slow both in back and up front. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time!! Other two occasions, after sitting at yet another dirty table, 15 minutes was way too long to wait, we left. Very disappointing!! Don't waste your time or money!
