For this little town this restaurant is one of the best. Great service, good food, and the quality and quantity is by far the best in this town. The price can be steep so don't expect to eat out a few times a week because your wallet will feel lighter.

While I've had better Mexican elsewhere, El Caballo Blanco is still good, especially for the price. It's also the only option for real Mexican food in the area. The prices are very reasonable, and the margaritas are better than I expected.

Food decent, but they swiped my card twice! Had to go back, food wasn't that good due to the hassle!

Hubby and I wanted to go to a new place for our anniversary dinner, and mexican sounded good so we decided to check out this place since all the reviews were awesome.. well those reviews lived up to the hype! This place is amazing!!! When we got there, it was very busy, but we still got sat right away! After we ordered our food, literally it was no more than 10 mins and both our dishes were on the table! The portions were awesome, hubby came home with a whole box full of is food he had so much left over! Then when we got the check, it was $30 for all our food, drinks and tip included! They also do take-out! How awesome is that!!?? We will be back again, amazing restaurant and service!! :)

I've been going to this restaurant for years and it never gets old. Their salsa is my favorite and I tend to compare every other Mexican restaurant's salsa to it, even the ones I visited in Texas. It isn't as runny but there is just something about it that I just love. Something that is also unique is their red sauce. It isn't as runny either. A lot of restaurants have a sauce similar (except for taste and freshness) that you can buy in a can, but this sauce has a smokiness and dark color to it that you don't usually find. I can guarantee that if you usually enjoy red sauces then this will open your eyes to a whole new way of topping enchiladas, burritos, etc. Other than those two things the food seems to be pretty typical of most Mexican restaurants. I almost always get the a la carte order of cheese enchiladas and it never fails in taste. Another favorite is their grilled chicken salad. I'm not sure what spices they use on the chicken but it's delicious. And if you top it off with a little queso sauce (which kinda defeats the purpose of getting a salad) it takes it up a notch. Their nachos are good too. The ones with ground beef, beans and shredded chicken are super good and you get a giant platter. They can be a bit much with the chips if you just stuffed yourself with chips and salsa though. The servers are extremely kind and like to say, "See you tomorrow!" when you're leaving. And unless, they are super busy, like Sunday afternoons during the church crowd, then there are few times they don't get you a refill immediately. They are really on top of making you happy. My family and I always enjoy our meals and never leave hungry. Usually we leave with leftovers because who isn't gonna fill up on chips and salsa? Especially when they taste this good.

If you ask, they'll bring you traditional Mexican-style tacos (corn tortillas with pork or steak, cilantro, onions and a lime wedge and tasty salsa on the side). They are delicious and so much fresher-tasting! While I like El Caballo before, now I look especially forward to going there.

I don't give 5 stars easily... but El Caballa Blanco deserves all of them. While this restaurant may not be the fanciest restaurant out there, it is the best value we've found in many years. Atmosphere is genuine, although noise levels can be a bit obtrusive when fully occupied. Service is literally outstanding...personal, and professional. Wait staff turnover is minimal, allowing patrons to develop personal relationships with various servers. Heck, my wife and I now know the names of several waiters, and even know their Mexican history and family life - nice touch. Food is varied, innovative, mostly authentic and excellent. I can honestly state that of the several times we have frequented El Caballo (many times with multiple friends) none of us has ever had a meal complaint...only praise. Value is where El Caballo truly shines: Where else can you go and receive excellent meals (and drinks) for two, with impeccable friendly service, authentic atmosphere, have enough left-overs for tomorrow's lunch, and spend less than $30!

I have to say, coming from Southern California, where great Mexican food is plentiful... this place is pretty authentic. I had a Juanitos burrito with chicken, mushrooms ,peppers and a white per a family member's recommendation - tasty! My margarita on the rocks with salt was done well. And they aren't stingy with their chips and salsa. Service was very attentive to our large party. Enjoyed the festive decor and environment, fun place for groups. Get your "Mexican food fix" on here when you're in the Ville.

Connersville, Indiana. You're limited on your options people. Good news is, limited options doesn't necessarily mean bad options. El Caballo Blanco (white horse) is an exceptional midwestern Mexican restaurant. The number one factor that made this business stand out for us was the decor - both interior and exterior. Stepping into this restaurant takes you to another world with colorful booths, light strands overhead, high ceilings and a surprisingly large amount of space (I believe there are three dining rooms total). I chose this restaurant based on the great reviews - they're spot on. Excellent service - both attentive and friendly. Uber budget-friendly - $3.75 margaritas on Saturdays - ayayayaya! Vegetarian section in the menu. $5.99 for the veggie plate with rice, beans, guac, lettuce and sour cream. The salsa has the perfect amount of chunk - by my own standards, that is. One last note - your food will be table-side in a matter of minutes - keep this in mind if you are hoping to drag out the margarita portion of the evening ;) I highly recommend El Caballo if you find yourself in Connersville.

I worked on a project in connersville where there is not a ton of food options and stumbled across this gem. I love mexican food and been to about every chain and hole in the wall around cincinnati and this is by far my favorite. The lunch potions are like dinner portions, and you defiantly get your money's worth. I love the salsas, especially the the extra hot salsa I asked for that I take home. I've eating everyone of their lunch specials and yet to find one I didn't like. My only complaint is that it's not closer to my home.

I've now been here three times for lunch while working in town, and am consistently impressed. Today I had the shrimp fajitas, and they were absolutely perfect- sizzling on the iron, perfectly seasoned with full flavor, peppers and tomatoes cooked right, which is to say, not burned as is too often the case with fajita dishes. Their salsa also ranks highly with me- great flavor, plenty of garlic, pureed but thick, could use a tad more cilantro, but that's nitpicking. The servers indulge my poor attempts to speak Spanish while ordering, are very friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. It's always been hopping busy without having to wait, nice decor, really all I could want. This place is definitely set in my mental lunch place rolodex.

I was not impressed with the food. I love Mexican food, but this place is not one that I'd go back to again. I think I'd prefer Taco Bell over this place! I will say that the inside is really cute and I liked the decorations.

living in Connersville for 7 years and being to the original el camino real, this place is hands down my favorite Mexican place. el rodeo in Richmond is good and all, but I'm giving el caballo the edge. the service here is superb every time and the food is always fresh and hot. I've ordered the nachos real probably fifty times and never been disappointed. I'm getting a craving for it now. and the salsa here is solid. what more could you ask for?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
