Lemleys’ Catering

Reviews:
We had Lemley's for our recent wedding in Bloomington, IN. They were great! Easy to work with, great service, and the pricing was spot-on. Chef Alexa was happy to work our dietary preferences/restrictions (groom is vegetarian, bride is a non-mammal meat eater) and came up with great alternatives for us (the duck meatballs were amazing!). We received so many complements on the pan-seared risotto cakes topped with mushrooms and also on the tasty assortment of hummus and dips. They also understood our need to strike a balance between meeting our families' needs (more traditional foods) with our need for things that were awesome and new! I highly recommend them and would work with them again!

This store is great! They have just about all you need from a hispanic grocery store. Also very friendly staff. If you are a taco connoisseur like me, you need to try the taco shop conjoined to this grocery store. Hands down, best in town. Their red salsa really compliments the rest of the ingredients. I recommend their chicken and lengua tacos.
One of my best friends lives here and she's never had a problem with Mi Tierra (the grocery store or the carnicera). She goes there often because they are within walking distance and their chorizo is delicious. She says no one's ever treated her poorly or talked about her (in English or in Spanish). She's never been dissatisfied with their service or quality of goods. I went with her the other day while I'm visiting and everyone was friendly (in English, Spanish, and even Spanglish, jejej). We enjoyed the chorizo yesterday on tortas and again this morning with eggs and pan dulce. Note: My friend and I are both gringas who speak Spanish (we both studied it, lived in Mexico, and now work primarily with Hispanics that don't speak English).

Twin Oaks Lodge

Reviews:
This place is probably the most serene and natural place I've ever stayed at. It is great because it sits far back off the road and keeps it secluded. The property itself is gorgeous and they have great trails to hike along with nice ponds to sit near and enjoy natural Indiana. The lodge is gorgeous and very clean. The Bowmans are wonderful people and make you feel at peace immediately with their hospitality. Diane cooks the most delicious southern dishes and she always has something different each time you stay. If you're looking to get away from city life this is the place to go. It is near Story Inn so you can have dinner there and hike around Brown County State Park or shop in Nashville. twinoakslodge.com

I love a good dive bar. The atmosphere, food, beer, and service at the cozy makes it one of the best dive bars and my favorite in town. Try the chicken, bacon, and cheese quesadilla. It's breathtaking! With a big bud light of course

The Mulligan Grille

Went there recently for Sunday brunch. I think our party was either 9 or 10 and they seated us within a few minutes. The room was just about full as they were quite busy. The wait staff was all very attentive and efficient - waters were topped off often and coffees and sodas were refilled often as well. All of the food arrived within 15 - 20 minutes - pretty good considering how busy they were. Only one item was missing - but that was corrected quickly. All of the orders were good with zero complaints from any of our group. Will certainly visit again - 5 stars.
Hidden gem in Columbus!!! Homemade strawberry jam (buy a jar for $5 to take home). Their blackened scallops - oh the stories I could tell about these delicious little things!!!! Dip their bread in the leftover Alfredo. Also, very reasonably priced for great food.
This is one of my wife and I's favorite dining places. We can always count on a congenial staff, quiet atmosphere, and wonderful food. One of the few places in this area that features fresh seafood, with Wednesdays being the delivery day for of the catch of the week. In addition to several delicious varieties of fish you can have steaks prepared to your specifications. The 8 oz. rib eye with red skin potatoes is a delicious meal. Another of my favorites is the "ponga" fish (note: Mike has many different ways to prepare the fish: my choice is crunchy pan fried.) The coleslaw is served with peanuts to give it a special flavor. Fresh hot bread is served with butter and strawberry jam, early in the meal. Mike Hatton, the chef, is very personable and always takes time to inquire about your satisfaction with the meal. This is one of the few places in Columbus that you can dine in a quiet atmosphere, allowing for conversations with your dinner companions. While it is housed in the Elks lodge it is open to the public for lunch and dinner M-F, dinner on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. They can handle large groups easily, reservations are recommended. Thanks to all the wait staff, who make our dining experiences enjoyable.

The Savory Swine

410 Washington St
Columbus, 47201
Reviews:
I have been to The Savory Swine a handful of times and each experience has been good. I love that they have peppadews, as those are my favorite snack! Additionally, I enjoy the different wines they carry. So many good ones that can be hard to find elsewhere. Most of all, the staff is always helpful and knowledgeable and happy to help which is a huge deal to me.
The first thing I did when we moved to Indiana is look for a local butcher shop. We're not huge meat eaters but when we do it has to be great quality. The Savory Swine is hands down the best place for meat. We actually eat a lot more meat because of this place. The staff is friendly too. Never a long wait. My only suggestion to the staff is to recommend different cuts. Maybe even print out recipes and put them in the bag.
The Savory Swine is many things, and surprisingly they do them all well. It's a fantastic butcher shop, a great place to grab a sandwich (I highly recommend the roast beef sandwich), and a great wine shop...combined with the best ice cream/gelato in Columbus. It also has a small gourmet shop with a nice selection of cheeses and specialty meats, as well as fresh breads and crackers. On a recent visit my husband and I stopped in for a sandwich and deli lunch, followed by a delicious gelato dessert...and we were able to buy Tri-Tip and shrimp for dinner. Talk about one-stop shopping! Everything is spotlessly clean and well designed. Seating is abundant and well placed. It's a great place to bring a small gathering of people to enjoy good food or a bit of wine. Columbus is lucky to have The Savory Swine, it is definitely worth a visit for a sandwich, wine, meat, ice cream, or all four!

Musillami’s Drive In

855 Jonesville Rd
Columbus, 47201
Reviews:
If you're in the mood for affordable high-quality burgers, tenderloins, coneys, soft serve ice cream, and more....this Family-owned, locally famous, one-of-a-kind drive-in is a place you need to visit. I just finished inhaling a delicious double cheeseburger and fries that cost less than $7!! Their signature item is the pizza burger, which is very tasty. I consistently have friendly and prompt service here along with consistently good food. Other than a few cement picnic tables, this restaurant is drive-in only, and as such is only open during warm months (usually April-October). So in summary, I'm a fan!! However, if you're a self-proclaimed 'foodie' who insists on being 'inspired' by everything you eat, Musillami's is not for you and doesn't deserve your bad review. The food here is made to be delicious and satisfying, not inspiring.
At one time, this was one of my favorite drive-ins. That was prior to being served the worst coney dog I've ever tasted. Topped with pizza sauce and cold American cheese. That's not a coney dog. Over the past few years, the quality of their food had diminished. I may give it another try, once my disappointment wears off.
Found this place at the recommendation of a friend and WOW! What a fantastic old school drive in! I got the pizza burger, it was simply amazing. Whatever sauce they use (or make) is A+ in my book. My milkshake made me wish I had ordered a larger one. It was so good. Everything we got was tasty and made us want more. My boyfriend got the Cheeseburger and Mozzarella Sticks, I had fries with my pizza burger. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Bob Evans Restaurant

Reviews:
This was the first place my husband and I rolled into when we flew in to visit my hometown and he could FINALLY meet my famz. He'd been to Bob Evans on a previous trip to Ohio and begged me to take him there first thing. But oh, I know the joys of fluffy, creamy, sausagey biscuits and gravy. We ended up here three times on our trip and each time was brilliant. We quickly realized that we needed to split meals, because there was SO MUCH FOOD. And even if you order another dish that comes with only one biscuit, you get an entire cup of gravy. Seriously, that is SO much gravy. So much delicious, magical, glittery, special gravy. I feel like Homer Simpson right now. Go here. Go here. Go here. Bring a wheelchair though, if you're going to eat an entire meal to yourself.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with this place. We were driving back to Kentucky from Indianapolis so didn't have many options. Everyone here was incredibly friendly. Literally every person we walked past or dealt with asked how everything was and wished us well. Waitress was super nice ... Almost like she had not been waiting tables long enough to be jaded but long enough to be very good. The food was just ok but its a chain breakfast place.... No chain breakfast place has GREAT food . very clean.
Stopped for a breakfast on my way out of Columbus. Once your order is placed, your food arrives within 10 minutes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the waitress was quite friendly. We'd return again next time in town. Remember to sign up for their email rewards program. Just for signing up, you'll get an email for a free dessert.
