As a longtime IHOP fan, this one leaves me stunned in a very negative way. Walking in, the bad smell greeted us instead of expected hostess, which never showed. The (we presume) manager gave us the tired smile and led us to the booth. We decided to overlook those minor infractions for the sake of the kids in tow and always kept promise of good food to come. Waitress showed within few minutes and took our drink order just to come see us 15 minutes later to apologize about not putting it in yet. 5 minutes later, we got our drinks served in mugs that looked like the chocolate milk was served around it and not in it, including in drinks that shouldn't have any chocolate milk in it. Of course, they were served with few apologies and yet another excuse. Another drink was ordered at that time Food arrived 35 minutes later, hanging of the plates, without that drink (35 minutes for drink). The steak tips were undercooked, revealing cheep meat, too sweet sauteed mushrooms, oddly cut onions but very good hash browns. Nutella crepes were very good, which allowed me to set aside bad taste of the previous meal and post a balanced review. FYI, this is the first review I wrote but the beginning of this experience forced my hand

Wait time was long for lunch but that was only to be seated. Then the wait really began with slow to take order and then 30 min to get our simple breakfast items. Then there was a hair in my daughter's eggs so they had to take it back and we finally said they could just give us her pancakes. They did adjust meal but if we did not have plenty of time to kill, they would have had to eat this meal themselves. When we did get our food it was room temp so it was sitting for a while. Would not recommend anyone ever come to this iHop.

As far as IHOP goes - I'm not sure you can really go wrong. The bar isn't set too high in my opinion :) They have cheap food, relatively fast service, and basic menu. Although I am a big proponent of local and unique - sometimes convince and price get the best of me. We stopped off at this IHOP on our way out of town and filled up on eggs, bacon, and pancakes... I love pancakes. If given the choice and had the time I would much rather visit a local place. However, if you find yourself on Interstate 65 near Exit 5 - hungry and still on the road. Give this guy a chance!

This is the normal IHOP experience, but add about 30 minutes to actually getting your food, which usually there is some mix up. Good for a lazy day when you have nothing to do. I would recommend WH instead...

Now, compare and contrast...thinking back in my days of English how I do this without sounding pulp-fiction-esque? Ok. Here goes nothing. Hurstborne Lane...we sat and waited long, long time - for Ihop to come to our area of the world. Sometimes we would sit at Waffle House with the intoxicated people and servers (yea a few times even the servers were drunk at the good ol' Waffle House, but I digress) - waiting impatiently for Ihop to be built. Finally amonst the ashes of Perkins came Ihop. It was, at first, in all it's glory all we'd waited for...then slowly the turnover of service staff, the food, the quality, the cleaniliness it all went horribly SOUTH. No pun intended to fellow Kentuckians...ok maybe there was a small pun intended. :p lol. Now that we are on the sunnier side of Louisville, we ventured late one night to the "orginial" Ihop. Oh yes, I remember when this too was built. How we waited long months for this area to get it's first International House of Pancakes. Oh the wait. It has been here for years now. And we were not disappointed. TIFFANY, our bright and chipper server for a late, late week night - during a pouring storm - power outages and all, still managed to keep a smile, give us that extra bit of attention, and keep our order to our specifications. And we ordered a bit odd. The place, after all these years, still LOOKED like the same ol' IHop, but was clean and tidy. Bathrooms didn't look like you needed to scrub yourself in a biohazzard shower after using them. AND this was after MANY hours of shifts. I have to say, one versus the other, I'm going to have to go with the orginal Ihop in this region, and choose Indiana over Kentucky. I know - I know *gasp* it's a difficult choice to make when your a native to the bluegrass, but guys - we dropped the ball. If you want good Ihop food, and even better Ihop service - Hoosiers have it down! :-D

This review is mostly based on the service, which left much to be desired. We came on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. But then no one came to our table, not even to take a drink order. We sat and waited, while a group of about four servers were standing around at a server station right by our table, chatting with each other. Not one of them ever looked our way. We waved over at them, even said "Excuse me" to try to get their attention, and we were totally ignored. Finally one of us actually got up and walked over to the group of servers and asked for service. They looked like deer caught in headlights. No one seemed to know who was assigned to our table. Finally, a waitress came to our table and she didn't seem to think it was really her table to wait on, but at least we were finally able to order. We didn't have to wait too long for our food, and the waitress even came once or twice to check on drink refills, so that was good. But then she just disappeared. We finished our food, and she never came with our check. We watched her go to other tables near us, and even tried to wave her down on several occasions, and she never looked at our table. After several attempts of trying to wave her down, and watching her go to the server station right by our table without looking at us, it started to feel like she was purposely ignoring us. Or did she just forget that she had our table? Finally we waved and "shouted" loud enough to ask for our check that she finally acknowledged us. I was checking my watch. From the time we finished eating until we finally got our check, TWENTY MINUTES had passed. The ironic thing was that as we were getting up to leave, a bus boy started clearing our table while we were still there. So while it took forever to flag down the waitress to give us our check, the bus boy couldn't wait for us to leave before clearing the table. The food was fine. Between us, we had a mix of breakfast (omelets, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon) and dinner (salad, dinner crepes) items. The portions were generous.

Party of six came on Sunday morning and the hostess lost our place on the waiting list to be seated. So after being told 30 minutes and waiting 45, we asked the hostess whereupon she realized her mistake and seated us promptly. We ordered the Colorado omelet, white cheddar omelet melt, 2x2x2, French toast, fiesta choriza omelet, and bananas foster pancake (yes pancakes) The food tasted good. Our waiter was a bit overwhelmed due to the volume of customers but maintained a pleasant attitude and thus got the 20%. Overall, I would return but not on a Sunday.

Ridiculously slow service. Understaffed for spring break week, and no apologies for delay. Looking around at every table in vicinity and no one has food. Don't bother with this place.

The food was good and got to our table fast. The service however was terrible there were maybe another 5 tables when we came in. As a waitress I understand that everyone has bad days. Pamela seemed like she was in a rush and was rude to the other tables she was serving as well, she told us to pay her at least 3 times before we were done with our meal. Will come back but will ask for any other server since everyone else seemed pretty nice.

We showed up and had to wait 20 minutes for a table, turned out to be more like 10! Which was great! I was expecting bad service because of how busy it was. They proved me wrong, it was fast, friendly and very delicious. We hurried and ate and left a big tip. Great stop for filling out hungry morning bellies!

Food and timing was great ! However the service was terrible from the start. Our server, Kendrick starting by telling us "not to be teenagers who don't tip" first of all we are not teenagers. Secondly, we all work in restaurants. He rarely came back to refill our drinks, and took forever bring us our checks. We left a note..

I've been trying to watch my calories lately after noticing that all of my restaurant dining was starting to catch up to me. The last place I expected to find a wide variety of low calorie options was Ihop, but their Simple & Fit menu is not only under 500 calories, it is delicious. In fact, Sunday morning I enjoyed their Simple & Fit Two x Two x Two option which is two buttermilk pancakes, two pieces of turkey bacon, and two egg scramblers for just 400 calories. I have to admit that I was nervous about trying the egg substitute but I couldn't taste any difference between it and my usual scrambled eggs. I fully intend to go back and try the Simple & Fit turkey bacon omlet and several of the other Simple & Fit options as well. Kudos to Ihop for making it possible to have a delicious brunch out without breaking the calorie bank.

Friendly server at five a.m. That's always nice. The food is prepared, as if by robot because it exactly the same stuff you would get in Madison or Stockton or Orlando. Look, IHOP's mission isn't complicated and the good thing about IHOP in general and this one in particular is, it's reliable and relatively reasonable. If you don't have the time or will to search out some cooler, local thing at five a.m. at least you know what you'll be getting. I had a great server who was friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared and for me, for IHOP at five a.m., that was more than enough.

We (my stepdad and I) stopped here on the way to Huntsville for breakfast. The food came fairly quickly seeing how the restaurant was packed. Everything was the way we ordered it. Our server courteous and timely with the refills. No problems or anything outstanding at this IHop.

THE best place in town for a stack o' pancakes. Highly recommend. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, five stars across the board.

I am a breakfast food junkie, so, of course, any IHOP has a good chance of pleasing me right out of the box. This location is conveniently located for those who like to shop because it is right in the middle of an exploding retail corridor. It's an attractive IHOP as well... good use of stones on the exterior... and an interior with lots of Earth tones. The food and service will not blow you away, but it has always been very, very good here. I tend to rate based on the sum of taste, service, and atmosphere (of course, how else would one rate!) and I really like this place.

We normally go in the evening because they can seat you right away and with a child that's important. The dinner menu has some really good options from country fried steak to burgers. Great staff and good food. Mornings can be a little more on the hectic side but the wait isn't normally that bad and they do a great job with all the breakfast foods we have tried.
