Great place for hotdogs, Polish, and Italian beef. Fries come with all items. A Maxwell Polish, Chicago style hot dog, Polish and two regular hotdogs all for $18. We will definitely visit again. Also, looking to cater our next event.
Friendly, fast service. The hot dogs were awesome and came on a poppy seeded bun with hot fries. You could taste the quality beef in the dog. My dad got the maxwell polish which they deep fry and serve with grilled onions (I'd get fresh ones bc the ones he had on there did not look or taste good) and sport peppers. Two hot dogs with fries and two polish each with fries came out to 15 bucks with two bottles of water. Cheap and good. Love the small town feel of this place. Right on 41, so you literally can't (and shouldn't) miss it.
Great polish sausage! I would hold off on the celery salt for my fries next time. Good place to take kids. We will be back for more.

There are so many pizza places to choose from in cedar lake it was hard to find a good pizza the was priced fairly! Very happy i called them on a whem. Phone staff is friendly and food to the time is 30 minutes normally. Amazing cheesy breadsticks. them.
Ordered on SuperBowl Sunday, happy to see that even in a snowstorm they were open. Very pleasant lady took my order, pizzas were done quickly; the taco pizza was just about perfect.

Amazing food! Friendly service and very fast! Food is priced well for the amount of food you get! Awesome selection of shake flavors!
The ice cream is fantastic, shakes, cones, etc. The regular food is okay, I find myself eating here because of the location, not because of the quality. Rather than having a few signature items that are really good, they have a lot of just average foods, mostly just the quick fix stuff from Dawn for Gordon's food. A lot of stuff has been in the warmers for awhile (hot dog casings are a bit chewy from being heated too long) the chili is just canned and heated up, and sliced processed cheese is on a lot of foods. The ice cream is the real winner, and I wish they would really do a few home-made foods rather than a plethora of pre-made or pre-formed foods, but is worth the stop when in the area.
A nice place to grab a quick bite to eat. The food is always hot and tasty --I haven't really tried anything I didn't like. It's a nice place to walk to in the summer; the ice cream is good and they even have something small for my dogs to enjoy. I only have a few gripes, and they don't even really involve the food, because it's good...The dining area is non-existent...and if the weather isn't agreeable, you'll be eating in your car. Also, some of their prices are a little high for fast food, but I'll let it slide considering it's good and fresh.

This was my first time best place I'd been to. And I'm a very picky general tso guy! Great food and the combination also comes with soup which is new to me!
Don't let the shabby, outside look fool you. The restaurant inside is very appealing and pretty. The waitress is punctual and has good English. Once ordered, the food takes about 10-15 minutes to process (depending on the food or how many order per person). You will get some complementary appetizer before you order comes. Good snack. Refills comes punctual and left a happy customer.
This is a fairly new restaurant (May 2012). We were the only people there on a Friday afternoon at 1pm, but I suspect it's because it was past the lunch rush and before the "supper" rush. The food was pretty good considering it's the only Asian food in the Cedar Lake area. The pot stickers were so-so; meat tasted like chicken but looked dark.. possibly from seasonings and such. I had the Singapore Rice Noodle, which was excellent! I've had this dish at many Chinese restaurants, and this was probably one of the best versions I've ever had; I definitely recommend this to everyone. My aunt had Bean Curd Home-style. It was also very good, but the tofu (bean curd) was deep fried before adding it to the rest of the dish. Next time there we'll have them sauteé the tofu with the rest of the dish instead. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were helpful and courteous. We'll definitely become regulars here. C'mon people of Cedar Lake, go eat some Chinese food and keep this place in business!

Good pizza! I've had sandwiches here too and they are good. The owner is nice and it's a small family owned business. The owner told me about all the time and effort that goes into making their pizza sauce from scratch and it's good to hear, but I'm not sure if that's true because my brother-in-law saw jars of Ragu sauce there in their kitchen.
This is at the top of my list of pizza places around Cedar Lake. The pizza is good and they have cream cheese jalapeno poppers (my fav). It is a small family business with limited hours but they are so incredibly nice, which makes all the difference. They are so nice that they even walked my pizza to my car when I was stuck almost a block away down Cline Ave because of the Parade of Lights for the Christmas tree lighting. Now that's what I call service!!!
Great food, best pizza at the lake. I have made my rounds of the pizzerias in town, and have found that Rivolis seems to be the best around. Great service, and a fantastic, delicious pizza.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN TOWN! This restaurant has by far the best food in Cedar Lake, Schererville, St. John, and Crown Point. I stopped here with my father and wife and we all had something a little different: started with Calamari and Mozzarella sticks (both were exceptional), and had several frosty libations, and finished with several different entrees. All of the aforementioned were perfectly cooked and paired nicely with all the combining spices. Best of all, the prices for the quality of food don't break the bank. IF you happen to be going through town, definitely stop here and you will not be disappointed. I certainly would not consider going anywhere else.
Pier 74 is located in an unassuming building across from the lake. The lobby feels like an old pizza pick up place. The dining room is okay - kind of family casual. There is a tiny bar with 4 stools. Now the food... WOW! Mom and I stopped for a quick bite and were blown away. We ordered appetizers - coconut shrimp, bruschetta and wings. The shrimp were delicious! The breading was light with a smattering of coconut and the came with a nice sweet sauce. There were six large shrimp for about $5. The bruchetta came on a foccacio style bread with fresh herbs and chopped tomatoes. A side of marinara was okay but unnecessary. We ordered hot wings and they came a little sweet., They were very tasty and served with a generous side of celery and blue cheese. The $3.50 house wines were fine. Our bill came to $26 and we returned a few days later with a group of 5. The food was again very good. One of us had Mahi Mahi. His only comment was that the portion wasn't huge but he (my husband) is a bottomless pit. It came with a well flavored rice. The salads were large and had a nice variety of ingredients. A mixture of lettuce would be an improvement. The pizza had a bit too much sauce for me but my friend liked it. The service is very friendly. This is a family owned place and there is always a family member around.
Do NOT stop at any of those crappy "fast casual" restaurants as you head south on 41 through Highland, or St. John. You know the ones I'm talking about. The Texas Roadhouse, the Jalapeno Bobs, etc., etc.. And gawd, please, do NOT tell me you ate at "Schoops". Blecch. The food at Pier 74 is top notch, and a relative rarity in these parts. Food prepared by a kitchen staff who obviously care about their craft. Versus the chains mentioned above, which care about (a) shareholder value and (b) ROI. Great value and service. Servers at Pier 74 are pleasant and helpful although maybe not a ton of experience. If you ask about a dish's preparation, they'll gladly ask if they don't know the answer. Perfect? No. I wish they'd brighten up the view from the front, across the sea of asphalt, maybe put in some out door dining and push all the parking behind the building. (Great people watching at the Dairy Queen across the street - biker dudes/biker chicks, neighborhood kids). Nicest operation in this part of Lake County, bar none. If you think nice attitude doesn't count for something, go get a hamburger from the surly teens running the operation at Schoops. I dare ya. Just don't say i didn't warn ya.

Small, casual out of the way place that wasn't too crowded on a Sunday morning. Food was tasty, good portions at a very reasonable price. Great spring morning view of Cedar Lake was a bonus!
Food and service are 5 stars. Owner makes rounds to tables to assure your satisfaction. Mexican skillet was chock full of chorizo and cheese.
Had biscuits and gravy.. Blah. Not seasoned very well. Just blah. Also a huevos Mexicana which the refried beans were so salty I couldn't eat them and the eggs which have tomatoes, onion and jalapeño tasted had no seasoning whatsoever not even salt. I would give one star for the huevos Mexicana and 3 stars for the biscuits and gravy which I averaged together for two stars. FYI the country fried steak is a frozen patty.

Ive lived in CL all my life and this place has always had good pzza and excellent beef sandwiches. If you dont like it its totally user preference but I know a lot and I mean a LOT of people who love their beef sandwiches and pizza. As long as they are in business I will always go to them for for the pizza and sandwiches. THANKS!
Beef Sandwich is killer here. HUGE and for a great price! Ate here (carry out) for the first time yesterday and will be back!
I had heard several good things about their beef sandwiches so finally my husband & I tried it for ourselves. Major disappointment. We ordered the beef with cheese, the combo and an order of hot wings. My beef sandwich was so dry!! No au jus what so ever. The flavor was marginal at best. I just couldn't get over how dry the sandwich was. My husband's combo only had sausage on it, maybe he did read the description closely but in any restaurant that serves beef & sausage sandwiches a combo sandwich is beef & sausage. He wasn't impressed with the sandwich at all. The nail in the coffin for us were the wings. They had a terrible texture & were actually cold. Very gross. Not sure we would even venture back to try the pizza.

The recent renovation they did to this mcdonalds makes it seem like an entirely new place. For a fast food place the food was quick, the staff very polite, and the restaurant was clean. What gets them the 5/5 was the woman at the counter welcoming me when I walked in and saying goodbye as I left.
Every time I go to this place there is always an issue with the order. Ice cream cone, machine not working. Qtr pounder you have to wait until they make some. Lemonade in the summer. " oh we are out". Renovation nice but need to work on the service part of it
Pretty decent for a McDonalds...I love the lady who works the drive-thru in the early morning --she's fabulous. My only gripe is the fact that occasionally, they are not open by 5:30am. Nothing more irritating than driving through the drive-thu at 5:45, only to be told "we will reopen at 5:30..." um, HELLO?
