Food is ok. It's hard to find a real authentic Mexican place because all I do is compare it to my moms cooking. Being Mexican I have a different interpretation to what real Mexican food compared to what Americans think what Mexican food is. I had the chimichanga. It came with 2 so I tried the chicken and shredded beef. The chicken had better flavor. Other then that nothing really special

    1. Cut my finger opening the door to enter the restaurant....complained, but no one cared. 2. Waiter knocked my iPhone 5s off table onto the hard floor, when giving us menus, and didn't even say he was sorry, but rather just laughed as if I wasn't actually upset when I said something to him. 3. Very slow waiter. Ran out of chips for our party of 4 twice, and had to wait over 3 minutes each time for him to bring more....and we had bean dip, not just the free salsa....and they were NOT busy at all. 4. The other couple we dined with ordered NO guacamole, but their food came with it anyway. Waiter took their food and returned less than a minute later....obviously he just scraped it off. 5. One of other couple we dined with had a toothpick in his chimichanga...stuck inside of it, completely out of site....and he didn't find it until it was completely in his mouth....he could've choked or stabbed the inside of his mouth, but luckily that didn't happen. 6. Overcharged my wife and I. My wife told waiter she wanted a medium margarita, and we were charged for Jumbo. Manager said that she received the Jumbo, but we've eaten at a lot of mexican places, and it was no jumbo. They also charged me for 4 mixed drinks, when I only had 3. All of this was contested with the manager, but he didn't care one bit. We will definitely NEVER eat here again.

This place rocks! The staff is friendly and the food is always great! Been coming here for several years now and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a 5 star rating. There are a couple other Mexican restaurants in Mooresville but this is by far the best! The others have slow service or the food isn't as good. This is the place to go. You won't be disappointed!

As others have noted, there aren't a ton of restaurants in this area. There are two main Mexican restaurants in the Mooresville/Camby area, but this is definitely my favorite. The menu is pretty big, and there are actually vegetarian options that include more vegetables than peppers and canned mushrooms. The salsa and chips are great as well. One thing that makes this my favorite is the fact that it's usually less crowded than the other Mexican restaurant. You can almost always get a seat and prompt service, which isn't a guarantee in this area. If you're looking for someplace to go for a regular dinner out, this is the place to go in Camby.

Excellent service, and very quick with our food. The nachos were great, as was the quesadilla. Above-average alcohol selection for a Mexican restaurant.

Some very good American Mexican food. Ask for the HOT sauce. Good size combos but very weak as true authentic Mexican.

The atmosphere is nice, except in the woman's bathroom which was disgusting. Service was fine but the food was way below average. They used gross american cheese on everything, had a soggy tostada, way over salted their chicken and had scallops that tasted as if they'd gone bad. Furthermore, they refused to accept our coupon. I will not be going back.

Prices are reasonable, food is good, and service is great. You can get the first 2 at other Mexican restaurants in the area but the good service makes this place stand out. This is now on our list for local lunch options. I have been here about 5 times now and haven't had a bad experience. Keep up the good work guys!

Just ok. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is festive but the food leaves a lot to be desired. On the whole, the food is very run of the mill, most tastes very pre processed and canned. The salsa has no bite to it and lacks zest. Beans and rice are both generic - most likely from a box or can. The meals are nothing special, basic meat and vegetables. The portions are generous but the meat could use less grease and more flavor. The queso I am pretty sure is just Velveeta. It's not great but it's not horrible either. Overall it's a decent place for a meal if you want to enjoy Mexican that appeals to everyone - nothing too wild or hot - but if you want something with some heat or flavor, keep looking.

Rancho Grande recently spent a lot of money investing in this lively-looking bar area. Friday night's feature their mega-margarita for $10.99. A wide assortment of traditional Mexican food pales in comparison to the family atmosphere. Make sure to stop by and tell them you found out about them on The317Live.com .

I just had my first meal from Rancho Grande and it was as the Yelp 3-stars signify A-Ok. It was not amazing but it was not terrible either. It was middle of the road Mexican-American fare. The Good: Generous portions, Fair prices, Great take-out/to go containers, Down the road, Open late, Expansive menu, Hot food **I ordered the Tejas Fajitas, Crunchy Beef Taco, Chips and Queso** Fajitas: The shrimp and chicken and vegetables were all good but the beef was a bit tough. Also, the entire dish was cooked in a bit of a tomato sauce (and maybe that is the Tejas style?) so it was kind of like "streamed" fajitas and there was not enough (for me) caramelization of the onions and such. The tortillas, although store bought, were fresh and hot and the accompany platter of beans, rice and "fixings" was generous and decent. Taco: It was okay. Better than the bell for sure...but I have had better. The beef could have used more flavor and again a fresh fried shell would be nice. Chips and Queso: Okay. Store bought for sure but good quality. The Not So Good: I do not think there is a lot of "home cooking" going on here, It is decent for Indiana but it would never survive in Houston. It is better than the bell but if you have ever lived in Texas and then moved back you will be like me and forever wanting for a good Tex mex meal!

We love this place and show up on a pretty regular basis. Guacamole and salsa are some of the best I've ever had. Excellent verde sauce. Pretty much everything we've ever ordered here has been above our expectations for mid-west Mexican food. Very strong and yummy margaritas. Service is always good! Highly recommended.

We found this the first of this year. The owner and staff go out of their way to insure your food is good. If you go on a Friday night, get the $10 42 oz. house margarita, it is a couples size and meant to two. Enjoy! Give them a chance, like I said great people and good food. -Devin

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant on the west side! Delicious salsa. The enchiladas I get with a green sauce are so yummy.

I stopped into this place with little expectations. I have just relocated to the Indy area and didn't expect to be blown away by the regional Mexican food. Now, I could be wrong about the area, but this place was great. They started with the customary chips and salsa and it was the best salsa I have had in a long time. This gave me hope for the rest of the meal and I was not disappointed. I order the tamale, burrito and enchilada combo. They were all flavorful and not overwhelmed with cheese as I have seen all too often at these types of restaurants. I will be going back again and often since my new home is only 5 minutes away.

The food is very blah. The burger meat is just that, no flavor. I dont like a lot of spice but some is nice. The enchilada sauce was boring and had no cheese on it. The taco had burger and cheese period.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
