I stopped in here for a late lunch on January 2nd around 2pm. There were only two people at the sushi bar and one table with 6 who seemed to be already dining when I arrived, so it obviously was not a busy time of day. I was seated immediately at the sushi bar and was brought the hot tea I requested, my sushi order was taken... and then I was all but forgotten. The sushi chef, Matt, was fiddling around behind the bar, moving VERY SLOWLY. Perhaps it was because his interest was in the football game on the TV beside the bar. Perhaps it was his interest in his personal phone on which he kept checking for text messages. Twice, he stopped to talk on his personal phone and neither time did he remove the food service gloves. Do you know how filthy most cell phones are? The outcome was that it took 45 minutes for him to get around to making my single maki roll. I would hate to see how he performs when the place is actually busy!! I will try someplace else for sushi on my next visit to Indy. Oh, and the bathroom floors were incredibly sticky. I don't know what is up with that.

I went for lunch here today. I was walking to Cold Stone Creamery when I saw this place. I went during a pretty down time. I sat at the bar and so I can't say much about service except that it was what I would expect if I was virtually the only patron. I didn't even look at the full menu because I knew I wanted sushi. The man who made my sushi was very friendly. I ordered 2 nigiri (young yellowtail and sweet shrimp). Each order of nigiri comes w/ 2 pieces (many places only give one). I also ordered the dynamite roll (smoked salmon wrapped in rice and seaweed; spicy tuna on top; spicy sauce and korean chili paste on top of that). it looked good and tasted great. I can always use a little more spice though (i think that's why they give you wasabi on the side). I just got a coke to drink since it was lunch time (total bill + 15% tip = $25). If I was there for dinner I would have tried one of their many sake wines displayed at the bar. The ambience of the restaurant as a whole is pretty good. I sat at the bar, and there's a TV at the top of the bar that seems to clash with everything else, but to be fair it was on mute. Plus it did gave me something to look at since I was there alone. It's kinda hard to believe this place is in Brownsburg. Next time I'm out running errands in this area I will definitely go back, hopefully for dinner, and if you're in the mood for sushi I don't think you'll find any better anywhere else in Metro Indy.

The sushi is so-so and the price is high. I know there isn't a huge sushi selection in Indy, but it's not that great for the price.

Last time I was there, service was less than excellent. There are plenty of places local that I can get equally as good sushi. Also, I did not appreciate being audience to the staff's personal plans for the evening since it was already obvious that they were anxious to leave.

A hidden gem in Brownsburg, IN! The sushi is very fresh and the service is excellent.

I have lived in brownsburg for 4 months now and never knew this was here...I'm super excited that I have found Tegry Bistro. Our food looked good, tasted great and price was perfect. I'm in love and will be back very often.

The food here is great, but their service is painfully slow. It took 15 minutes after seating to get a drink and I had to take my sushi order directly to the sushi bar because we saw our waitress only twice during our 2 hour experience. It took over and hour just to receive five rolls.

Great sushi, try the volcano roll and the crunch spicy tuna roll, these are excellent!

All the above reviews are true. I have coming here for years and always had great food and excellent service. Until recently service has gone downhill fast. The regular servers are gone and have been replaced by inexperienced high school kids. This is not the first recent issue and I would usually write it off. But this the second recent visit with service issues. Here is list of service failures over our last two visits: Seated at table that had not been wiped down from last customer. The host noticed the problem and came back with a rag and offered to wipe down after he seated us. He then asked me how I would rate his wipe job. I told him there is always room for improvement . He smirked. Female waitress talked about her nose ring to other customers while we were eating Main dishes were served separately. The thing the server did good was ask my wife to cut into her steak and see if it was cooked right. She had ordered medium. It was served very well done. The server noticed it was not cooked right and said the chef has to put brick on it to cook it right. She said sorry it was not cooked right and walk away. I wanted to tell her that is called butterflying, but would probably not understand. Never checked back on the rest of meal or took away plates. Just asked if we were done and left the check. Tonight we experience about the same. We were seated and the kid asked what kind of drinks we wanted. My wife ordered a Louis martini cab and i ordered a Kirin. The kid had to ask again because probably does not know the menu. He then took the pencil left on the table for sushi orders and my completed sushi order to write down our drink orders. I had to tell my order was on that so he did not throw it out. Had to ask for silver ware for the salad. When he did bring it out it only had a knife inside the napkin role. My wife just ate the salad with chopsticks on the table. Again, main dishes were brought out separately. About 5 min apart. This waiter never checked on us after he brought the food or checked drink refills. He finally removed the completely empty plates. The food was excellent. We were over charged by $40. Charged for bottle wine versus a glass. My wife probably would have had another glass of wife but was never asked. Maybe we will get a bottle next time! After bringing over charge to his attention he brought it back saying "here you go it's $40 dollars cheaper" and walked away. This is after he took our check and credit card to the table next to us. Fortunately they were honest people and said it was not their check or CC. My final though is only go there for carry out so you can avoid the bad service. My next visit will be to traders point location to see if they moved the mother daughter A team combo. They are great servers! Bring them back to brownsburg or hire servers that understand the menu and have experience.

I had a quite pleasant first lunch at Tegry's today. The service was excellent!!! Very fast and friendly! And the Sushi was, while maybe not the best I've ever eaten, really good. Prices were ok and comparable to other Sushi places around the Indy area. All in all a great visit. We'll be back. :)

I've had better sushi at a Chinese buffet. Ordered four rolls and only the California roll was acceptable. The quality of the rainbow roll fish was questionable at best, very chewy and stringy salmon. The tuna atop the asparagus tuna roll was less than desirable and looked like some sort of jelly candy. Also had a house salad that was ok but had additional flavors that were meh and unlike any traditional ginger salad I've had at many sushi restaurants across the country.

The sushi here is quite good. Much better than you would expect to find in Brownsburg. The fish is fresh and the rolls we've tried have always been well prepared and flavorful. I especially like the Rock n Roll. However, as others have stated, the service here is atrocious. My wife and I have been here three times and it's been the same story each time. No friendly greeting when you walk in. There is no host or hostess, so you're seated by one of the servers when they get a chance to get to you. You typically wait longer than you should even when there are empty tables in the restaurant. They have no bussers that we could see and it seems like the job of bussing tables is up to the servers. The last time we were there, we ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner and our server just dropped off the bottle and a couple of glasses. I don't require the whole wine service routine or anything (though it would be nice), but at least open the bottle and pour the first glass for us. After dinner, we ordered dessert and coffee. The server told us they didn't have coffee. Seems odd to me that you'd have a dessert menu but no coffee. Also, the lava cake was obviously microwaved. It came out entirely too hot and a little tough in places, as if it had been microwaved a little too long. I give this place 4 stars for the sushi and zero stars for the service and dessert situation.

Being in Brownsburg as a whole isn't really my idea of a good time BUT sometimes it can't be avoided. So when I am visiting the"burg" I am usually looking for a good place to eat. I found this fine establishment on Yelp (of course). After reading the reviews I quickly decided that this place may be better suited for take out considering all the complaints about the service. So that is exactly what we did. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and an order of fried rice. Everything was very good and I felt the price was fair. Tegry Bistro def makes visting B-Burg a bit more bearable.

Walked in the door and waited almost 10 minutes to be seated. Server got my drink order right away and food order promptly as well. I ordered 3 rolls and an appetizer of chicken fried rice. My rice came out in about ten minutes and my rolls took almost 30 minutes. Longer than I expected. It was so cold in the restaurant I was extremely uncomfortable. But the sushi was great and the chicken fried rice is a MUST HAVE! It was absolutely wonderful!

Like other reviewers it took 30 minutes for us to get our food. It was noon and no one else was in the entire place. The place smelled of fish and dirty carpet. We had not eaten here for about 5 years. Boy has this place slipped. Food was bad and the cloth napkins smelled like mold. Time to clean up or close

I originally set out to go to iSushi Express but saw that they were closed for remodeling. So I then went up to Tegry Bistro in Brownsburg. It was my first time here and the atmosphere was excellent. It is a small place. I got the sushi sampler lunch combo that has 5 pieces of nigiri sushi and a California roll. It comes with Miso soup and salad. The food was good in both taste and display. I will have to go back and try more sushi and other items they have.

The sushi is top-notch. I would definitely recommend making the drive for it. Try the heidi ho roll and the super spider roll. The heidi ho has cilantro and is so delish. The super spider is huge and little hard to eat, but well worth the effort. The green tea is the best I have ever had although sometimes it can be a bit weak. Service is good, sometimes you have to wait a bit for the sushi, but get some edamame with some ponzu sauce to pass the time. : )

Dragon Roll and Spicy Mexican Rolls are the best. Service could use a little polishing.

I have been coming here since it opened a long time ago. My family became friends with the owners and they're the reason I came to love sushi! It's an awesome place with fresh sushi, can't go wrong with anything. To name a few great rolls-- Ali, Las Vegas, and crunch spicy tuna! Make sure you try their chicken fried rice, it's cheap and very filling! This is my go to place when I'm craving my favorite food.

The best sushi in Indy. I love their Ali roll (its deep fried!!) and their Mexico roll. The service can be slow, I won't argue with you there, but the food is AWESOME!

The sushi is worth more than one star, for sure, although a smidge on the pricey side for Indy. The service, however, was AWFUL. We've been to this location three times (and the one in Traders Point once) and only one time did we wait less than 45 minutes for our food. Every visit was on a Friday around 7 PM, so I get that they're packed, but a restaurant should know how to handle the dinner rush. Two weeks ago we ordered nine rolls and they were ready shortly after we finished our appetizers. Last night we waited AN HOUR for five rolls. Other tables were also waiting, and my husband heard them offered complimentary miso soup (which we never saw materialize), but our waitress just refilled our water a couple times. She told us twice that our order would be ready soon, and that they were very busy, and then disappeared. We arrived hungry and waited over 20 minutes for a table in a strip mall with plenty of other options (but we wanted sushi). We ordered the first time the waitress came to the table. And then we sat in our both, HUNGRY, no appetizers, no real explanation, for an hour. We would've ordered more than 5 rolls if we knew we would be waiting until 8:30 PM to eat dinner. Here are the reasons I didn't say anything: The waitress was meek and I didn't want to yell at her; the delay wasn't her fault. I was so hangry that I didn't trust myself to be calm. I couldn't tell who was in charge (to talk to) and I didn't get the impression s/he would much care about our situation--the whole place was the same way and this experience was representative of our visits there. We will NEVER return to Tegry Bistro. There are plenty of other sushi places in Indy to choose from.

Good food, clean restaurant. Service was ok, but it was at a slow time, so I can't comment on others reference to slow service. I will stop by again if in town.

Meaghan hit the nail on the head... Tegry is a hidden gem. It's especially hidden for me since I never, ever go to Brownsburg (seriously, my trip to Tegry was the second time I've been there in 10 years). I knew we were in for a good time when the ginger salad came out not in the plastic bowl that I'm used to, but arranged artfully on a plate with garnish and everything. The service was fantastic, the tuna nigiri was excellent, the rolls were creative... I got the Beehive, which was tasty if not a little salty from all the tobiko piled on top of each roll and the White... Dragon? I don't know. It had white tuna, asparagus and it was tasty as well. My friend Peggy got this amazing spicy tuna tempura roll that I couldn't get over. I usually don't care for tempura, but this was crunchy and sweet and... oh, I want one right now. Prices are pretty on par with any place else in the surrounding area. But wow, for the quality, the atmosphere and the service, Tegry is heads above most of them.

In need of a quick fix for your sushi rolls. Stop at Tegry Bistro for a carryout. Been here 3 times now. Great little spot for my favorite Tiger Roll and Spider Roll.
