We stopped by here on a casual Saturday while driving through the country. The owner was around and quite present during our visit. The waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere is kitschy and fits the "Kountry Kitchen" namesake. I was put off by a few things. They served individual bags of chips that made it feel less like a restaurant experience. If they wanted to buy them in small bags, they could still just open them and put them on the plate. The salad was also not served before the meal and came with a packet of dressing. OK...those are the negatives. I gave them 4 stars because the barbeque e was delicious! The owner has several commercial smokers and I enjoyed the pulled pork in a sandwich with a very bodacious bar-b-que sauce that he shared was home made. It was not too sweet and had just enough kick. The bar-b-que should be where the Koountry Kitchen should continue to focus. It was marvelous!! They also had homemade desserts that looked yummy but we didn't take the jump. Definitely worth a visit!

Small hometown place with several menu options. Best place to dine in town! Great food and friendly owners came out to talk. Son said it was the best burger he has ever had. I had the salad with grilled chicken. Wasn't expecting much with that but it was prepared with care and delicious. Owner brought out their specialty smoked pulled pork for us to try and homemade BBQ sauce. So good we bought a pound to take home. Everything prepared from scratch and fresh. Prices are very fair.

Quaint restaurant right on the main road in the town of Brookville, IN. There are limited eating choices in town (McDonald's, a tavern and Pete's Pizza) so we landed here after doing a little shopping. Their famed dishes are smoked ribs and pulled pork. They get the smoker going every morning right outside the door and boy does it smell delish! The down side is you have to wait until dinner time to partake as they are still smoking at lunch. My bacon cheeseburger was cooked just right - not dry at all. You will need to specify exactly what you want on it however or it will come plain. No cheese, no mayo, no ketchup, no mustard, no tomato - nothing. I kindly asked the waitress for some "add-ons" after I saw my plain burger. The kids' meals are somewhat skimpy. Our waitress was a pleasant young lady, but apparently overwhelmed and we ate almost our entire meal with no drinks. On the upside, their Raspberry Tea was the best! Very limited seating inside - 4 booths and 3 or 4 tables that can seat 4-6 people each. That's it people! It's small. I really wanted to love this small town restaurant, but 3 stars is all I can give it.

Honestly, a 3 MIGHT be a tad generous, but it's better than a 2. Last night's experience was a bit hit and miss. The food was good, solid, home cooking. Nothing fancy, but pretty good, My bacon cheeseburger was a tad too well done for my liking (they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked), but it was pretty tasty. They don't offer french fries, opting instead for chips out of a bag, with detracted a bit from the entire experience. The side salad was very taste and a generous serving, and they are one of the few restaurants that offer poppy seed dressing. However, they serve the salad WITH the meal, instead of before...which I just don't "get". Service was quite lacking, and certainly not the friendliest I've ever had. However, it was dinner hour, so I'll give 'em a little break on that. All in all, an "ok" experience. Since they're a locally owned restaurant, instead of a chain, I'll give them another try.

Small, downtown place with a casual and friendly atmosphere. Seems many locals eat here. The pulled-pork BBQ sandwich was outstanding - especially topped with the homemade BBQ sauce. Worth the trip by itself. Didn't try the deserts, but they are also homemade and looked delicious. Nothing fancy here, just really good food at a reasonable price.
