Great atmosphere. Food was ok. I had to ask for a drink refill. Steaks were one level above what was ordered, i.e., medium steak was ordered and a medium well was brought to the table. The breaded/fried portobellos were very salty. The spinach salad was fantastic with the house dressing. Crab cakes were decent for Indiana. The sauce on the crabcakes was just the lobster bisque reduced.

A rustic, cozy atmosphere in a unique, very clean facility. Very scenic views not only from the deck, but the dining areas as well. I noticed that the staff were younger adults, but the service, attitude and professionalism was outstanding. I had the Sweet and Spicy Duck Wings - Fabulous! Reasonable prices for high quality food. Definitely planning on enjoying more meals there in the future. A great place to take a date.

Wide selection, tasty food, gorgeous deck and setting. We were driving through and it was a great find. Service was perfect: informative, attentive, friendly. The resident golden retriever just added to tge charm. A little of the path but easy jog from the highway. Recommended.

Prime Rib and Garlic Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes were excellent. Had the whole place to ourselves.

Nice place, probably better to sit outside on the deck but we had kids with us. The food was OK, but kinda bland (I got the filet with garlic redskin mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus). The steak was prepared as I requested.

Ate a family dinner here on Sunday with extended family. Our service was fantastic. Our waitress was energetic, friendly, and managed to engage everyone at the table. I had the beef tip special with bacon mashed potatoes and added sweet potatoes fries out of curiosity. All of it was hot and delicious. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The portions were generous. The desert was excellent also. I ordered carrot cake and stole a few bites of caramel cheesecake. The Lake House has only been open a month or so. It is a little out of the way, but sits in a quiet wooded area off of Hwy 40 between Terre Haute and Brazil. The main floor has a small bar with televisions, while the balcony over looks the lake and feels more private and elegant. The interior works for either a quiet night out or a football game. There is also a basement area that can be reserved for events. This area has a covered, walkout patio that stretches all the way to the water. Excellent for a wedding reception or even a wedding. The walk out area is covered by the deck that stretches from the main floor with plenty of seating. No matter what type of outing you have planned, the Lake house seems ready to fit your needs. We will be back.
