Awesome place for a beer in southern Indiana. Only 1 mile off of state rd 37 and in the country. What a perfect destination for a casual weekend drive. Check out there beers at hooters here in indy and other places.

Really liked this place on our first visit. We will definitely return to try more beer and food. The staff was really courteous and helpful. This is a winner in my book. Loved the beer samples I tried.

Salt Creek Brewery is tucked among the rolling hills of Southern Indiana on a rural road. It's located in what I think was an old auto body shop, which is both random and cool. They have an outdoor patio area and often host live music. There are really two different businesses in the building, a restaurant and a brewery. Children and under-21s are only allowed on the restaurant side but, fear not, you can get beer on that side as well. Order at the restaurant counter for food and at the bar for beers. The food was good but nothing fancy. I had a veggie burger and sweet potato fries. My favorite beers were the Altbier and Vienna. I also enjoyed their bourbon vanilla stout, although it wasn't my favorite bourbon beer out there. The live music added to the fun. A nice, laid-back place to grab a craft beer.

This little brewery just north of Bedford in Lawrence County Indiana is a great place to visit. The have good pub type food. I had a tenderloin sandwich with French fries and my wife had their black bean burger. Both sandwiches were excellent. Last time we split an order of pulled pork nachos and there was plenty for both of us. They always have a wide selection of great beers to choose from and they are happy to give you samples before you choose your pint. This is not an upscale brewery by any means, but they do a great job with their auto garage theme. There is an eclectic mix of customers from IU students to older couples and motorcyclists. Everyone blends together well here and that makes it a nice place to visit. Live music is featured regularly on the weekends, and they have seating both inside and outside.

We really enjoyed our time at the Salt Creek Brewery. The decor is simple but interesting, the staff was friendly, the beer options were great, and I was a little surprised at how delicious the food was. My husband had the lasagna special, and I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich with fries. The tenderloin was great -- a little thicker than some, which I liked w--a--y better than the ones the size of a plate and about 1/8 inch thick. And the fries were really good too -- I guess the chef goes through several steps in making them, and it makes a difference. We also enjoyed the live music, which was outside last night because it was a beautiful night.

Great place and despite saying they are closed on Sunday's. They are open until 9!!! Love it here!

We were fortunate enough to stop by during the Bedford Blues and Brews Festival. They have a great selection and a few beers that are notably good. The house porter and IPA were certainly worth trying. The pulled pork BBQ and house made chili were also delicious. The building and decor are perfect for the setting of this brewery in the heart of southern Indiana. It's definitely worth the short drive from 37, when you're heading down to French Lick.

I love the feel of this place. Very comfortable. People are friendly and welcoming. The "Out of Order" IPA is the best.

Such a great place with local character. Had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which was delicious though the bottom bun was soggy. Also had to add way more BBQ, but they have sauce bottles for people who like more. Their home brewed beers tend toward the light side, but they're way way more flavorful than other light lagers or beers. Quite a bit of variety too. I had the unplugged wheat ale, which was one of the best wheat ales I've ever had. It was a little loud when we arrived, but staff were very friendly.

This authentic local brewery/casual dining stop is off the beaten path, but worth the 3 mile detour from SR37. Order freshly made sandwiches and burgers at one counter then find a table in the converted gas station before getting your beer at the bar. We stopped in on a bitter cold winter's Friday night in February breaking up the drive to French Lick from Indianapolis and loved the local vibe, very friendly staff, and tasty menu. A burger, pulled pork and Reuben sandwiches along with a freshly made salad and homemade onion rings hit the spot along with a Damn Fine Blond ale for me and a brewery root beer and creme soda for designated driver dad and the kids. The live music was fabulous and made it hard to get back on the road. Skip the chains further north and head here to remind yourself how warm, personal and fun a local restaurant can be.

We're generally weekly visitors to Salt Creek -- they're one of the best options for both food and entertainment in Lawrence County. Food is bar food, but more upscale -- smoked turkey, roasted red pepper hummus, BBQ pulled pork, steak night on Saturdays. Always check the board for daily specials! As a vegetarian, I appreciate that their regular menu has a couple of veggie options (the Black Bean Burger is homemade and has a nice spice level to it); vegetarian food can be hard to find in this county. Don't sit down and wait for a server, though - just go up to the window and place your order. Our friends rave about the beer, but neither me nor my husband like beer in general so we've never had theirs. We do, however, love homemade soda, and SCB makes some good ones. They always have root beer and cream soda on tap, and a third flavor rotates through (we've seen orange and grape so far). If you like blues music, this is the place for you! They have some amazing blues groups play here on a regular basis... also delta, rock (oldies, classic, modern), and several other styles. Live music is generally every Friday and Saturday night, and occasional Thursdays and Sundays. Thursday nights during the summer are Bike Night, with special deals for those who come in on a motorcycle. Thursday nights during the winter are Trivia Night; you can earn tickets to redeem for different prizes. Check their Facebook page regularly - they often run other promotions (like $2 off growler fills on Wednesday) and have special events. It's a small venue, so it does get pretty loud when live music is on stage. If you like it quieter, come earlier in the week or check out their brunch on the weekend mornings.

I just happened to take a different route home to Indy coming up from southern Indiana and passed through the little town of Needmore, IN after seeing a sign marked "BREWERY" on 37. It's only about 1.5 miles off of 37 and the road you take T's right infront of the brewery. I'm a huge fan of breweries after just living in Denver the last 2 years so this place definitely deserved a stop. They had a diverse selection of beers. A beer for all & any as they say. Food was typical good bar/brewery food. I sampled the Alt, Junkyard Dog stout & Black Creek Brew black ipa. Nothing crazy within these three brews but all enjoyable. I can see this being a popular spot every drive back from the farm! Cheers! Posted a pic of the brewery on Instagram: @drinkingcraft

We just walked out after being ignored by the staff continuously. First by an employee when we walked in, then again when she delivered ketchup and mustard to the table, and meanwhile no one mentions that there is no wait service. Then when finally read it on the menu, and go up to order, the same girls proceeds to ignore us as she puts in finishing touches on another order. No eye contact or a "hey I'll be right with you." And this is 2-3 minutes with us standing there. At this point we decide to take our business elsewhere. Too bad as it was cute.

Interesting place. While they didn't have their homemade sodas available, my husband's beer was great (he said). The food was delicious and fresh. No table service so you order at bar for drinks and at kitchen counter window for food but they do bring it to your table. Menu is limited to mostly pub grub types of sandwiches but they have fresh cut fries that they batter fry. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. A bit of a drive from where we live but it certainly didn't disappoint

My husband and I and a couple who lives at Lake Monroe visited Salt Creek Brewery for dinner last night. We tired a variety of beers (you can buy as many 4oz. samples as you want for $1 or $1.50 each). The beers were better than many IPAs. The food, operated by a separate company, ranged from okay (overdone fried tenderloin)to wonderful (homemade turkey noodle soup, smoked salmon spread, chicken nachos). The owners must have read the previous review about not knowing there is no table service, because someone came to our table right away, welcomed us and explained that we need to go to the bar to order and pay for beverages and go to a window to order and pay for food. The food was delivered and tables were cleared by the waitstaff. A live band was playing. The overall atmosphere was fun and relaxed. They've done a great job developing the gas service station theme - right down to the original restrooms in this renovated building. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening that included excellent beer. We'll go back!
