This is, hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in Avon. My family has gone to La Ha regularly for over 10 years. We've never been disappointed. The food is great, the service is usually impressively fast, and everything is fairly cheap. The outside of the building looks a little shabby, but don't let that keep you from trying La Hacienda. The inside is very clean and well decorated... and the food is hard to beat.

This place has never let me down... The food is awesome.... I thought the Taco Truck by Washington St is by far the best Mexican food in Indy that I drive over 10mi just to satisfy my craving. Then I came across La Hacienda which is only a little over a mile from where I live. :) I love their servers. They're warm yet very upbeat... Food comes out lightning fast. Taco Carnitas at $1.75 a piece (I always get flour tortilla coz its bigger than corn tortillas and you get more meat with it) is a must try..

My wife and I eat here at least once a month, for the past few years. We used to live in Avon but now we will still make the drive back to town to come here. The food is good, the prices are low, the staff is always very friendly, what more could you want?

Okay, I'm gonna write this review live, as it happens. Passed this place twice, found my way in, long wait for a table. "Best Mexican food in town" the tag line says on the menu. Judging from the chips, that might be true. Nice spice to the salsa, waiters didn't brig enough menus and are kind of brusque. Think ill order the burrito choriqueso. I love me some chorizo... ...things have gotten bleak. The chips and salsa have run out, and the waiters seem to be deliberately ignoring us. I'll let you know if we survive.... ...more chips have arrived! Yay! ... ...chips are gone again. Still no food. Things are turning grim... ...smoke signals proving ineffective. Constructed a make shift bow and arrow from straws and sugar packets, but game is scarce. Parrots on the wall apparently made of wood... ...rescue has arrived! We will feast in celebration and mourning for our deceased comrades. Mmm, chicken burrito slathered with spicy chorizo and queso. I'm so grateful that I hardly notice how lukewarm it is. Still tasty, though... ... The natives are friendly. They have taught me some of their language Kay-sah-dee-yah... ...supplies have been consumed. Fairly delicious, and certainly filling. Now to settle the bill and readjust to civilized society once more. Also, shave the giant beard I grew while stranded here. So, now I'm waiting in the ridiculous line at the register. Final thoughts? A nice place with good food, but don't go on a Friday night.

Waitress spoke bad English and was slow but I don't eat mexican food for the service. Most solid Hole in the wall I have been to in a long time and food pricing was pretty cheap. Salsa is really soupy but damn good and chips are hot and fresh. Not sure why the menu has about 15 of the same pollo dishes spread through out the menu under different names but food was good so whatever. Had the chicken and shrimp special on the board which was supposed to have mushrooms and onions and had no mushrooms and jalapeños but it was good and had enough for leftovers at home. Waitress had no clue what the specials were.

New menu and brand new decor to go with it!!! Last week they got in hand-painted booths and tables. The place looks pretty awesome a Mexican joint. The new menu is also wonderful with the addition of specials that have made it to the adult table, including the addition my favorite "burriitos de camaron." My friend tried the new "choriqueso burrito." Don't ask. Just try. I can't wait to come back and try the new items along with a superb margarita!

I think my partner and I found a Mexican restaurant that we can enjoy. We have tried 50 different Mexican restaurant around Indy and it was not successful. Until now, everything we had was mucho delicious. The salsa was made fresh and the tortilla chips was fresh as well. I got the beef chimichanga with cheese sauce. It was delicious. We will be coming back..

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Central Indiana area! Salsa tastes great with chips, and if you need any suggestions on what to order, just order the Chicken Fajitas..... You will be quite pleased! If fajitas isn't your interest-- quesadillas, burritos, tacos, and nachos are all good-- I have tried them all :) The interior of the place is well, both extremes-- on the south side of the building, it is a large, brightly decorated dining area that is inviting, but quite loud at times. On the north side of the building there is a traditional bar with sitting booths where things are much more quiet. The entrance is right in front of the cashier, in the middle section of the restaurant-- odd layout but it offers flexibility in that adults can go over to the bar area for a more quiet dinner, yet larger family dinners are perfect for the dining area. There are many Mexican restaurants in the Central Indiana area, and LA-HA (as several people refer to La Hacienda as) is one of the first ones on the scene in the early 90's-- I recommend coming here before going to any other (El Meson, El Rodeo, etc.) Mexican theme restaurant. Try it and you will know why.

Okay, so this place is not authentic - but it is still tasty! If you want some greasy, cheesy, fattening amazingness, come here. The place is colorful and fun and service was as expected. The margaritas were very tasty and strong. We fully enjoyed our meals and were very satisfied with our experience.

A really good option when you're craving Mexican food in Avon, but not life changing. I do want to start by saying that it is not the easiest place to find! It is back from 36 behind a row of businesses and it is in a weird strip mall type thing that doesn't seem to have any other businesses currently in it. Strange but worth hunting down! We have been here a couple of times after seeing it pop up on Yelp. So far we have found the food to be better than other local places. While still all the generic food you would expect from these type of places, the food is well executed here. I have not had anything that is dried or disappointing which is basically the main thing I look for. Chips, salsa and queso are all good! The large queso is big btw, two of us were unable to finish it, so plan accordingly, much better for bigger groups. We were a little too hungry when we ordered, haha. The place is super brightly colored with a lot of random art. Always wonder what it would be like being the person to decorate when setting up a place like this... Fast and friendly staff too! Very attentive. Maragaritas are well made which may be the most important thing to know.

So much flavor! Props to Indiana Mexican food. Lunch portions were generous and very cheap. Meats were so juicy and they have a great variety of options. Yum!

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. The last few times we have been service has gotten slower. They have also gotten a little less kid friendly. Food is still ok.

I have been here a few times and the food is alright. If you like to drink you definitely get your money's worth. A small beer is around $4.25 and they give it to you in a huge mug. Their horchata portions are huge as well. I ordered their fajitas. The quality of the steak they use is poor but they give you large portions. I would come back and try some other dishes. Their chips and salsa are good too. Staff was nice and friendly.

This place is very, very delicious. The chips are warm and the salsa is tasty. Their guacamole is very good, but a tableside option of fresh guacamole would really be awesome. I had Steak a la Mexicana with rice and beans, it was very good. Steak was tender with a flavorful char. The veggies in the dish were cooked nicely. Standard rice and beans, but good. Mr. Jen F had some giant quesadilla, named for the restaurant. Holy cow was it gigantic and he tore into it, finishing every bite. We also ordered a couple of tacos and the beef inside was very good. Drink glasses are huge and we didn't even need a refill. My only problem is that it is SO LOUD and there are screaming kids everywhere. They do have a bar, but the atmosphere was kind of... meh. We were sharing a booth section with a family of two kids. One was acrobating the entire time and shaking the booth. The other just screamed. While this isn't the fault of the restaurant, they do cater to these people and I have to be aware of that if chosing to go.

This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Their salsa and queso is unparalleled! I love their fajita nachos, and the steak quesadilla is also a go-to favorite!

Food was delicious. We were seated within 5 minutes and drinks orders were taken immediately but only reason why they got 4 starts is bc they were not refilled once emptied and good order wasn't taken until about 10 minutes after the two of us sat down and got our drinks. La burrito hacienda and la grande seafood burrito were both amazing.

Ok....so I was really excited about trying this restaurant. It had great reviews. So I decided to order a combination plate to try different items. The Chile Relleno was not at all what I am use to....there was 2 bites of chile I asked the waiter where's the Chile, he said, "they don't like a big Chile". So basically it was a beef and cheese dip. The taco shell I think came from a box. Carnitas enchilada was the best thing to Mexican food, and the guacamole. Needless to say, I will keep searching. :-(

From the front of the building it appears to be very small but it is a lot bigger than it looks on the inside. The service was excellent! My husband and daughter and I were extremely hungry and looking for a new authentic Mexican restaurant and have found one to call our own! The minute we sat down we were greeted immediately. The server was fast and very responsive. He brought us out chips and salsa and wow it was so fresh and tasted amazing! I ordered a margarita because it had been so long since I had one and I was so glad I did because it had hit the spot and had perfect flavor. We were so happy they serve Coca Cola! They also have Coke de Mexico there which is so awesome but we didn't realize until after we already ordered the drinks! It doesn't get more authentic than that! My husband ordered Tacos con carne asada and carnitas taco and he shared a bite with me and it was delicious. I wish I ordered what he had! I ordered Chix flautas and that was great also. My daughter ordered kids taquitos and she enjoyed them. Food and service was great and we never had to ask for anything except for a to go box to take everything home because we were so full! Lol I even took the chips and salsa leftovers. Prices were reasonable and we are definitely coming back. Next time I am going to order a Coke de Mexico with my meal now that I know they serve it and it will be a perfect 10 of true authenticity! Will recommend this place to others for sure and will be back regularly! Great evening out!

Best Mexican restaurant in Avon. They are always busy and the wait times would be my only knock on them. If you go you have to get the carnitas, they are only $1.95 each and they're awesome. 2 or 3 of them is plenty. Their salsa and chips are usually average but at times are very good.

La Hacienda, Avon Location, is my husband's favorite Mexican Restaurant and one of my top three depending on what I'm craving. The Chips are hot, crisp and we both love the salsa which is heavy on cilantro and onions! Even though we have a closer location to our home we drive to Avon as they tend to be consistent. We came earlier than normal tonight (Friday around 7:30) to find 4 large separate birthday groups celebrating. It was extremely loud for a while but by end of dinner noise level down to normal loud. If you prefer less noise ask to sit to the right as you walk in door. Smaller area, usually few if any kids and the bar is located in back of this dining room. We ordered our standing order of Steak La Hacienda for him and Chicken La Hacienda for me. Dinner was hot, served perfectly (no cheese for him) and tortillas plentiful. As usual it was terrific with the jalapenos unusually hot tonight. Loved the extra heat but surprised us!! Rarely are we disappointed here!

All around excellent service. Went here based on other yelp reviews. Definitely will be a regular spot for us. Busy but fast, cute decor, large portions. Fajitas were cooked and seasoned perfect. I hate when onions and peppers are crunchy at other places.

Service and food are above average for a taqueria style Mexican that appeals to American tastes. Margaritas are very strong but are good. I highly recommend the tacos asada if you like authentic/spicy Mexican food. The tomatillo sauce is very hot but complements the tacos well. Chips are consistently warm/fresh. Salsa is mild so I recommend their green habanero hot sauce to mix in with it if you want hotter. I think it is superior to El Rodeo down the road which I would give 3.5 stars.

Good Mexican food. If you're in Plainfield or Avon, this one of the better places. If you want to indulge, the pollo fundito is a great place to start, but if you want something delicious without cheese, order the carnitas tacos. Please don't Americanize it with flour tortillas and cheese, just get it with corn tortillas, cilantro, onion, lime, and the hot sauce that comes with it. You're welcome! Just kidding :)

The food is awesome! Las Flautas, Hacienda Chef Special and Arroz pollo all were great. Kids shared a fried ice cream and sopapilla....delicious! We would have given this a 5 star if the service was a bit more attentive. We will definitely be back. Lots more things to try. Large menu.

Great authentic food. I would choose La Hacienda any day over other "authentic" mexican food restaurants in a 25 mile radius. I love the queso. Great for groups.

La Ha is the most fantastic hole in the wall restaurant. It is by far one of the most popular in avon. The ambience is so amazing as you get a real feel of Mexican culture. The food is amazing and the service is very fast and friendly.

We just had lunch here Sunday, June 1st. It was pretty busy for mid afternoon. My main complaint right off the bat which they have no control over but there were so many screaming kids that it was not enjoyable. It took a couple minutes to get seated but once seated service was good. We both had soda to drink. And they brought out chips and salsa right away. More restaurants should bring something to the table right away. We ordered the queso with beef. the small version. It was only like 25 cents to add the scoop of beef. I usually do not like ground beef at any Mexican place but this one was not bad. They had a $7 special on the board up front it was a beef burrito and a chicken burrito smothered in queso with beans and rice. by the time i had eaten that entire bowl of queso and chips i was pretty much full so i only ate about half my main course. The chicken was white meat so bonus points to them as i never eat dark meat. the beans and rice were some of the best ive had at a mexican restaurant. The rice was not dry like most places and the beans which i love had a good flavor. Take your sunglasses inside as it has every color of the rainbow inside. The other person had the #18 and i dont recall what that was but he said it was ok. he didnt care for the red sauce on top and would have rather had the queso instead but thats an easy fix next time just order it that way. I love carne asada but have been disappointed with any that i have ordered anywhere after living in southern California for several years. But I may try it here next time. While its nothing like the southern California style Mexican food that i have come to love its pretty good and definitely the best i have had here in Indiana.

I love this place. The service is wonderful and steady, not a lot of turnover. In fact I usually get Sara as a server and she is the sweetest! The food has not ever let me down. Consistant, good quality, wonderful prices- Definately try this place out...you won't be sorry!

This place is great -I'm also a long time customer here. They have excellent authentic margaritas - (no nasty sour mix) and queso dip. Their guac and carnitas are pretty good too. Nice staff - big place that's rarely too crowded due to the size. It's sort of a plus that they're ALWAYS cleaning when we come in. It gives a good impression...And to top it off - it's really fairly priced. Love it!

Decent Mex-American fare and nothing more. I don't understand why so many people rave about this place. It's fine but so many others are doing all the same stuff and often better.

This place has always been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Food is great and reasonably priced. I've been going there for over ten years and have never had bad service. Every time I'm in Avon I make sure to eat at La Ha.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
