We went here after church with a pretty good size group. Our server was very attentive and kept our glasses full as we waiting for our food. Everything came out great and they didn't forget anything. My daughter loved her kids pancakes. The only thing that I didn't like about the restaurant were the decorations...it looked a little old and dirty. Luckily the great service and food made up for it!

Tired of the same old breakfast routine... Emmy's is a must! The Mexican Skillet is delicious, and the pancakes are so light & fluffy they'll float right off your plate.

OK, so I thought I would give them a second try and I ordered breakfast. Ordered 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. I got either two small biscuits or one butterflied. Very little sausage or sausage flavor in the gravy. Probably won't go again I REALLY hate to say it but Bob Evans is much better

Staff was not overfriendly, but efficient and attentive. We were talking after the meal and someone came and took our dirty dishes away. I really appreciate when a sit down restaurant does that. Food was above expectations. Absolutely will be returning.

Good atmosphere and good prices. Food is good with a Greek and American mix. Staff was pleasant and very attentive. We had a small group of 5 and portions were large and quickly served.

I'm rating on breakfast alone, so I can't vouch for the rest of the menu. The cakes were very fluffy and tasted great! Not too crusty in the outside and not salty which is wonderful. My lack of a fifth star is due to the toppings. I ordered blueberry pancakes, and it comes with three cakes (I think a stack should be four, but I can let that slide - I'm just a fatty at heart). The blueberry is just that canned pie filling goop, which doesn't impress me in the least. This place could take these cakes to the next level if they just bought some fresh berries and/or baked berries into the cakes themselves. So in the end, the cakes themselves are great, but the fruit topping was just too sweet and gloppy for me to really want to go back again. My hubby got biscuits and gravy - his verdict was that the gravy was thin (it did look anemic) with very little sausage. He wasn't a fan. Service was alright, with our waitress bringing refills quickly, but the cups were jammed with ice and tiny. If I were in the area I would go back, but there are tons of better alternatives close enough that we most likely won't be returning.

Great hometown type diner. They have a very comprehensive menu that includes your typical lunch fare as well as custom omelets and other typical breakfast items. My son gets to pick his favorite place to eat on his birthday, he always picks a bagel at Emmy's (go figure). I recommend the biscuits and gravy, and of course some coffee.

A regular diner joint in an Chinese buffet decor. The food is typical but the only thing that sets this place apart from other diner joints are the pancakes. These are actually very good. Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Location: 3/5 - weird.. but understandable.

The decor was pretty much like a Denny's or Bob Evans, which I didn't mind. The service was good. One would think that since this is a pancake place, the pancakes would shine; however, they were disgusting! The biscuits and gravy were flavorless. The coffee was burnt as well. An overall horrible Saturday brunch.

Where did this place come from? We walked in about 9:00 AM on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was bustling, but not crowded. Our waitress was there with coffee and taking other drink orders. The menu has lots of inviting options. I opted for the Mexican Omelet, which came with 2 pancakes and hash browns or home fries. The omelet was huge and delicious! The home fries were very good with crispy edges and fluffy insides. The pancakes are thick and sweet. They have a hit of cake batter taste to them, which was just amazingly delicious. The hubs ordered corned beef hash, which also came with a potato and bread option. His hash browns were delicious and he really enjoyed the sour dough toast. He added a couple slices of French Toast, which he said was very good. The slices were nice and thick. The corned beef hash, though - OH MAH GAH was that good. The coffee was hot and kept flowing. The service was warm. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Can't wait to visit for lunch or dinner.

Much better than the breakfast we had at Bob Evans across the street two days earlier. My wife had the blueberry pancakes. They were light, fluffy & had blueberries under, between and on top of the stack which gave them more flavor in each bite. I had the Hoosier omlet with toast & hashbrowns. All three were very good. Hashbrowns are like coleslaw either it is very good or bad..Very little middle of the road, These had a great flavor and weren't greasy. We will definitely be back.

We ordered over the phone on a Sunday morning after 10. I was surprise she said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 15minutes later and picked it up. The hostess was very pleasant, and the food was fantastic! My wife got the meat lovers omlette which was delicious and I ordered the big boys platter which I highly recommend. Our total was 17$ . Enjoy!

The owner (and or manager) and his son (?) typically work as hosts, along with some women. I'm not sure the owner or his son should be working in the customer service industry since neither of them seem the least bit interested or happy to see their customers. It's very off-putting. The breakfast food is above average, with the omelets being exceptional. Their coffee is horrible, weak and cheap tasting. Overall, I'd say this place is better than some of the local chain restaurant options for breakfast, but just barely.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! We have been a few times, but never this bad! Eggs not done (scrambled) home fries looked like hash browns but were told they were home fries, daughter ordered a breakfast sandwich, burnt on one side and not even cooked or toasted on the other side (soft bread). So what did we eat? coffee, toast, and OJ. oh and shared a few slices of bacon. We never complain, but softly mentioned to Management about our experience. Said he would take care of it. left us with our food to pick through and took 10.00 off our bill. SERIOUSLY!!! we probably only ate less than 10.00 worth of food!!!!! Guess, we needed to make a scene, unfortunately that seems to work at my work place. Then maybe we would have been treated with a free or just pay for what we ate sort of deal. Not sure I will go back, not because of food as much as management making things RIGHT!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Great food and fast service! My wife and I have been here a couple times now. Twice just the two of us and then another time with family in town. The line to get in is long during busy hours but it's never a long wait to be seated. Once seated, the wait staff is right there to get your drink orders. No sooner do you get into conversation, your food order comes right out. No matter how busy they are, we have never felt forgotten. That's very important to us when going out to eat. For good, fast food with a small wait to get seated during busy times, this is a worth while stop for some good breakfast food.

Not a ton of vegetarian options (besides straight pancakes) but good food and decent prices.

Had the veggie omelet with a side of homefries and two pancakes. The eggs were good but I would have liked more spinach. The homefries and pancakes were great!

Horrible food, horrible service. The server was sweet and shy and soft spoken but she didn't know squat. Ordered an Eggs Benedict Florentine that came out with no bacon and hollandaise that was either old or with too much lemon juice. Subbed hash browns with home fries and she brought hash browns still and kept arguing that those were infact home fries. Also ordered chipped beef and biscuits and the beef was hard to find. Plain white gravy covered the whole plate, no seasoning whatsoever. The worst part was that no one cared to ask what we thought of the food.. Overall a pretty bad experience, wouldn't go back to this place.

Fantastic attentive service. Food was out with record speed. Definitely recommend especially if you want a fulfilling meal but don't have tons of time.

Hit and miss depending on what you order. The pancakes are the best in town, and the eggs benedict a friend ordered looked yummy. But the Chipped Beef on biscuits was a huge disappointment. It was basically white gravy with a few tiny little flecks of meat in it and little seasoning. I brought a guest here who specifically wanted to order that and he was vastly disappointed. I would have been too. Service was quick and friendly but the decor, neon chinese buffet, did not create a very cozy environment. Pancakes aside, we won't be back.

This is my favorite breakfast place, bar none. Each item of theirs that I've tried has been great. My personal favorite is their cinnamon French toast. Their biscuits are also very good, with or without gravy. The staff is friendly and they always do well about checking on your table. The restaurant itself is very easy to miss, given its peculiar location. The decor is also somewhat...misleading (Emmy's used to be a Chinese restaurant, and it definitely shows.) Regardless, it's worth having. The food is delicious and the staff is welcoming. Easily the best breakfast in Avon.

Great Breakfast place!! We went on a Sunday morning and the service was super quick. Food was good and warm too! My kids even had fun with the Mickey Mouse pancakes.

I competed in my first ever 5k race in Avon this past Saturday and my dad was there to cheer me on (he's the best!). We had made plans beforehand to go get breakfast after my race, so I consulted the Yelp app for some breakfast spots nearby. I remembered seeing this place, because I stopped at PNC to get some money before I got to Avon Town Hall Park, where my race was. I thought to myself, "Oh, I wonder if that place is good." and then went on my way. It must have been kismet because it was the first result to appear on the app. When we walked in, it was packed with locals-- always a good sign. As there were two of us, we were seated almost immediately. This place is really spacious and takes up a great deal of space in a strip mall that looks like it once housed Kroger, but now houses a satellite location for one of those for-profit colleges. A friend of mine who runs marathons told me that the best thing to eat after a race is lots of protein, so I got their country fried steak and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. I'm usually not a fan of restaurant scrambled eggs because I was raised on my dad's, which I think are the best ever, but those were some damn good eggs. Dad got the country scrambler which had pineapple and ham folded into his scrambled eggs. He *really* liked that. He also got pancakes with his meal, which I tried. They were small, yet really light. My dad liked the place so much that he wanted to bring something back to my mom and said that the place was worth the trip in and of itself. They had a ton of great selections on their menu and I'll definitely have to try something different next time!

Good for Avon - new options are springing up every day. Unfortunately, most are cookie cutter chains. Come check this local place out tucked away behind the front row of the usual suspects. "Local" and "serving crepes" is usually a safe winning combination for me. Even kids' portions are generous. The selection is fairly standard for a pancake house - pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, bacon, coffee. Spacious. Service is friendly and patient with kids. What's not to love?

Emmy's is a pretty solid spot if you're looking for a hearty breakfast in Avon. It seems to have an almost cult-like following among the locals on this side of town. The atmosphere is interesting, being in a former Chinese restaurant. They've changed very little about the interior since those days. The food is pretty standard breakfast food and they have a good selection of it. My favorite is the Mexican omelet, complete with jalapenos. Ryan tends to go more on the sweet side for the French toast, which is also well made. Prices are a bit steep for breakfast food, but the food is consistent and the service is good. If you don't know where to eat in Avon at 9 A.M., Emmy's is your place.

Emmy's is a great local establishment that's perfect for breakfast or lunch. Service is quick, and my coffee cup gets refilled fast! They have a great selection of omelets! My favorite is the Spinach and Bacon, I ask for it with Swiss Cheese. I opt for grits instead of potatoes. Always yummy! Eggs Benedict options are also a good choice! If you're there for lunch try the BLT Club. Huge sandwich that takes up the whole plate with a side of fries. Very comfortable, a couple of TVs, ample parking, usually have a bit of a wait on weekend mornings but worth the wait. Glad it's not a chain!

Atmosphere: bright and cheery. Temp comfortable at 73F. Noise acceptable at 70dB. Service: fast and courteous. Food: like home cook in'. Great place for breakfast and decent place for lunch. About 22 on Zagat scale.

Service leaves much to be desired. I asked for home fries and it was hash browns. I informed the waitress and she said that it was actually the home fries. I am sorry but I have eaten here dozens of times and the hash browns that were served to me were mushed up and undercooked. The toast was a piece of white bread with unmelted butter. The sausage links were also undercooked and tasted terrible. I informed the manager of the problems and he said he saw no problem with it and walked away. I usually love this restaurant but I will not return and I strongly do not recommend it.

I've been here twice with my parents for breakfast and I believe this is one of the BEST breakfast places in Indy! The omeletes are FANTASTIC!! Very fluffy. I have gotten the Greek omelete twice. Each omelete comes with two pancakes and hash browns. The pancakes are very fluffy and have kind of a malt taste to them. This is enough to split with someone else. A LOT OF FooD! With my parents we only got two omeletes and it filled us. The prices are low. The service has been great. Love this place!! Highly recommend.

Today was our first visit to Emmy's. It was barely 8am and the place was fairly busy. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. The decor however was all over the place. The menu was a broader then a typical breakfast and brunch spot, there was something for everyone but their specialty is pancakes. My daughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes. They looked amazing, fluffy and loaded with chips, she couldn't eat them all the portion was so large. I ordered the eggs Benedict florentine. It came with hash browns and bacon. The muffin wasn't toasty and the hollandaise was broken. The eggs were perfect though and the flavor was good. The hash browns were yummy. I would definitely go back to try the pancakes!

My tinder date and I were ravenous upon meeting. Having no idea where to eat in Avon, we looked to Yelp (of course!). Based a number of detailed reviews, we decided "what the heck!" and went to Emmy's. When we arrived, the place was bustling. Great start... The decor was very fun and inviting (complete with a Party Room!). The hostess was very sweet and sat us quickly. Getting better... Our waitress, Krista, was very nice, provided fast service, and we were both comforted by the fact she was a young woman of Faith. At any rate, coffee and water cups were always filled promptly. We decided to have a sweet, and savory breakfast, and so split a skillet and pancakes. Talk about portions! WOW. And the taste? Oh. My. Sweetest. Grace! Crispy hash browns, great salsa, pineapple like it was just cut from the tree, and an exceptional array of Smuckers jellies right at the table. We can't wait to explore the remainder of the menu! Overall, this was my most successful tinder date, we went back to my place and had a very special morning - I owe it all to Emmy's! I would give this restaurant five stars any day!

Now this is breakfast! I've been to Emmy's several times and whether alone or with a large group, the service was outstanding. The prices are fair (lower than those of the big chain pancake place) and the selection is awesome! I love the omelet and egg skillet breakfasts here. The coffee is hot and they keep your cup full. You won't go away hungry at this place. Oh, two things of note: The decor needs and upgrade, it is true. It is very apparent they just moved right in to a space that was previously a Chinese Buffet. But on a happier note, the kids will love the character pancakes.

Just has the best pancakes we have ever eaten. My hubby and I shared the Denver Omelet pancake and Hashbrown. More food than one person could eat. Fluffy pancakes and omelet. We will definitely be a repeat. Recommended by my son who is a regular.

Unfortunately, I did not have the stellar experience that others have written about. I went in on a week day, around 10am, craving pancakes. I had heard really good things about this place. I had hoped to add a new breakfast place to my list of go-to's. No such luck. I was seated right away and approached by my server quickly. I ordered coffee and asked if they had skim milk. She said they did and ran off to start my order. She returned with the news that they only had 2%. So be it. I ordered the multi grain pancakes with sugar free syrup and 2 scrambled eggs. As my order was being prepared I noticed that the sleeve of my sweatshirt was stuck to the table. Downhill...from there. My food arrived with apologies. The server said that out of habit she had sprinkled powder sugar all over my pancakes. (I requested sugar free syrup...powdered sugar kind of defeats the purpose of the request)...I didn't really want to wait any longer so went ahead and tried them. Three bites into it, I decided I was done. The eggs were good, no complaints with them. I don't know if it was the dirty table or the careless server...probably a combination of the two...I was just turned off by the experience. You pay at the front. I was asked how everything was. I did tell her that the meal was okay, but that the experience was not what I had hoped for. She took the pancakes off of my bill. That consideration helped, but I don't plan to go back.
