Great for take out; ready in ten mins. Lunch special portions are huge and a great price. Best Chinese take out in Avon.

After getting take out from this fine establishment several times within the past year, I am going to bump the rating to a 5. This is as good as it gets for Chinese take out. I have tried several items on the menu and all are very tasty, hot, and fresh. This place is hopping on a Friday and Saturday night, and there is a reason.

Based on Yelp reviews I tried the General Tso's Chicken. It was not the best, but certainly good enough, and piping hot and stayed warm for a couple hours in the thick, sweet glaze. I opted for the large meal with the steamed rice, and it was gorgeously sticky rice which I adore. The only lacking was the steamed broccoli which was too underdone for my taste, but, hey, when I steam broccoli, it is usually falling apart... and drenched in butter and salt, So maybe theirs is slightly (well more than slightly) healthier than mine. It's ok. The amount of sugar in that sweet glaze will make up for it! Will be back to try more on the menu.

Really enjoy China Bistro. My family and I order several items for takeout and will then share it. Portions are very good. I really like the egg drop and wonton soups. Their general tso chicken is awesome.

So we went here for lunch last week. I went with no expectations at all. Indiana is never going to win any awards for great Chinese or Mexican food thats for sure. First thing I noticed when we entered is that they had the AC cranked down to about 30 degrees and the vents blew really hard over our table. The heavy set kid who took our order was rude and not friendly at all and he did not know the food or the menu very well. We are always adamant about WHITE meat ONLY with the chicken. It was like pulling teeth to get a solid answer as to what kind of meat they used or could we get all white meat. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with fried rice. I mean how can you got wrong ordering the #1 favorite dish here in the USA for Chinese food right? Well the sauce was perfect, with just the right amount of heat. It was to come with broccoli but I got one piece and it was raw. As for my fried rice it was pretty much white rice with a couple frozen peas and carrots thrown in for an upcharge. What happened to the good ole fried rice that was cooked with soy sauce and had onions, and fried egg and peas, carrots?? its not that hard to make. The white meat chicken was just ok. So I would go back but just not anything to really write home about aside from the sauce on the General's Chicken. No fountain drinks so if you guzzle soda like I do it will cost you

I recently discovered China Bistro, even though I have been driving by it for longer than I care to admit. I had always dismissed it as another Chinese Buffet in Avon. Boring. Not the case at all. First, there is NO buffet. They cook to order and they do it quite well. I will admit, I've only been three times (in the past 2 months) and all three times I've gotten the same thing. The moo shu pork and the moo shu chicken (almost the same thing). The dishes are not overloaded with cabbage. They are primarily meat and other veggies. The moo shu sauce is one of the best around. They serve theirs with both white rice and pancakes. I have tried both, but prefer the less messy rice method :) Rolling stuff up into burrito shapes is fun, but sometimes you just don't have the real estate to make all that happen...not successfully anyway. I've only had carryout, but there are booths for eating in. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly enough. I like to place my order and then zip over to McAlisters for iced tea. By the time I get back, I'm good to go. If you are looking for a quick/cheap/huge serving for lunch or dinner and prefer not to eat from a feeding trough, go to China Bistro.

My favorite place for Chinese takeout. The portions are good and the items are well-seasoned. Lunch is a great value. Some favorite dishes: Shrimp w/ Garlic Sauce, Shrimp Lo Mein, Pork MooShu Pork, General Tso's Chicken, Hot & Sour Soup, Teriyaki Chicken Sticks.

Very good food and good portions! Super fast service and friendly too! Crab rangoons are yummy and that is a major test for us. We enjoyed all the food that we had ordered and no mess ups in our order. One of our new favorites!

We stopped in because we were starving after a mid-day flight from Las Vegas and it was kind of on the way home from the airport. The place is small but there are a few booths for seating. We were the only people in there on a Sunday evening and one carry out order was the only other activity we saw. The food was pretty good, but to me was the typical Americanized Chinese food you get at every other place. There was a decent amount of heat in my tofu dish, and my wife enjoyed her fried rice side dish. We would stop here again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of our way.

It's one of the few places that have similar taste of new york chinese food plus they cater to your specific needs for spicy or orange chicken

Food was tasteless. I had the orange chicken and fried rice. I wasn't impressed. Although they give big portions, I would recommend you to spend your money elsewhere, where you can get more value for your buck.

General "Chow" is just amazing :D The management here are generally friendly, and they appreciate regulars. Their spring rolls aren't too good, but I like the fried part. This place is more of a carry out type of place, but there is seating available inside. I've never stuck around too long afterwards, especially with the Little Caesars rush a few doors down. Good quality, good price, good service.

Since I moved here, I've never had decent chinese food. This place is probably the better choice of all of them The place is okay to dine-in, they have couple of tables. But I'd still take away. Plus, the kitchen looks clean, and the price is not bad for the portion you get I'd wosh if they would deliver.

The Avon area somehow manages to have three different Thai restaurants fairly close together, but slim pickings when it comes to Chinese food. Were it not for China Bistro I think I'd find myself driving much farther to satisfy my cravings for some good old Americanized Chinese food. The food itself is good. The Bistro sports the typical range of takeout items. None of the food I've had has made me cry with happiness, but everything has always tasted good and fresh. I also tend to judge takeout places by their hot and sour soup and, while CB's isn't the best I've ever had, it's quite good. Their service is good - they've always gotten my phoned in orders ready quickly and accurately. The prices and portions aren't bad either. My wife and I usually order about $30 worth of food to share and have enough for that dinner and another two meals each after that. So is it good? Yes. Is it the best? No. Is it the best in the Avon area? I think so.

Great first experience with China Bistro, it was just a take-out order for my family after a late night the day before, we were feeling very lazy. It was a pretty large order, but everything was correct. (Important in a first impression!) We all got separate combos and split some crab rangoons. Everything tasted fresh and what I would expect. Crab rangoons were very good, which is important to me since they are one of my favorite things. They labeled most of the meals which was very helpful, expect two beef dishes were not labeled and it took a bit of work to figure out which was which since they looked very similar. One big plus is they have a well laid out website so you can browse ahead of time since their full menu is on there. They even offer some coupon deals! I am looking forward to eating my leftovers today! We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Will alter the food VERY WELL to your taste. The HSS (Hot Sour Soup) is MADE TO ORDER and served piping hot! The Mu Shu is above average. The kitchen looks clean, and everyone there is friendly. The only real complaint I have have is with the egg rolls, which are always far too oily. For the Pepperheads: Just tell them "Very, very spicy" and you wont be let down. Overall, a superior "strip-mall style" chinese food place.

This was the closest chinese food place to our friend's house, so we ordered take out. Beef and broccoli, chicken lo mein and General Tso's. For $5 a meal, it seems like a steal but when I opened it up, I was a little disappointed. Yes, it was plenty for lunch, but there wasn't anything left over. General Tso's was definitely the best, but you can't beat anything fried. The noodles came with rice, which I thought was odd. The fried rice was more like a white rice. It wasn't very flavorful. The Beef and Broccoli was really saucy. My husband really liked the food, but I thought it was just average.

I've now tried a number of Chinese places in the Avon vicinity, and this is by far the best. The menu is fairly standard for take-out focused restaurants, but the quality is a bit higher--everything is well-prepared, nothing is too greasy (or, at least, not excessively greasy for fried food), sauces are tasty, etc. A particular favorite dish after a few visits is the Hot and Spicy Shrimp. I've had this from a few places, and have typically been disappointed, but China Bistro's version is a nice mix of spicy and sweet, with some very well-prepared vegetables (mostly onions and peas) that don't taste like they were freezer-burnt before being cooked. My big disappointment is that like with so many take-out focused Chinese restaurants, the dining room leaves a lot to be desired. There are a few booths, but they are usually occupied by people waiting for their take-out, rather than anyone eating in the restaurant. I really wish there was a good sit-down Chinese restaurant in the area, but that's more a general complaint than against China Bistro itself. For more formal Chinese, I'll still have to make the trip over to Szechuan Garden by Lafayette Square.

Love them! Best food and priced right. Love the familiar faces when picking up food and it's always hot and flavorful!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
